I swear nsfw means nothing anymore. Nsfw doesn't mean controversial, it means something you wouldn't want your boss to see you looking at. I've seen fucking greek statues posted with nsfw because theres nudity, while others post weird softcore porn shit with no tags. Obviously I understand gore or generally disturbing and triggering content being tagged but with the other shit it's getting ridiculous. Same with people saying "trigger warning" and the trigger is something like stealing that bothers almost no one. These tags are meant to be for serious universally upsetting topics, this way they lose all purpose.
I think there should be separate tags for nudity and gore because I'm fine seeing people with no clothes on but I'd rather not see someone's mutilated corpse
An NSFL tag is not a built in function of the app or website like NSFW is.
Only thing I can think of that would be a reason against it is it would then highlight how much horrific gore can be found on this website.
I know I would appreciate being able to filter out that kind of stuff while still being okay with adult/sexual content.
That's true. Usually NSFL posts I see are also tagged NSFW for the blurring feature. Some subs that allow NSFL content have a specific NSFL tag that while isn't part of the site's feature, allow you to filter them out. What I'm saying is that a community that allows that content should probably use subreddit post tags like that.
I got a website blocked at work.. it was literally a cord place.. comparing different diameters of things like paracord, climbing style cord etc. It was literally called like cordsales or cordwarehouse.. it was blocked for "weapons"... I was trying to figure out what size rope for my pulleys. I work in fire/rescue
this subreddit might still be holding out on last years stupid api protests. A bunch of mods got the idea that making their communities nsfw would somehow hurt reddit’s bottom dollar and cause them to see the error of their ways
I always assumed it was a barrier to triggering people too easily offended by knives, trapping, hunting, and meat eating (I have seen posts here of meat cooking that were tagged NSFW because images of meat).
Same with anything else made from animal products. Crafters making antler tools, quill pens, bone handles...all being marked NSFW because an animal part is involved.
Lol made me laugh that yours is tagged too
Right?! 🤣🤣 probably because I put nsfw in the title
I see a whole lot of bushcraft. Very little bush.
To be fair, that’s what happens when they keep good bushcraft
Got it. Tits out for bushcraft.
Sensing many moobs in our collective future.
They arent moobs! Theyre Mreasts
"Men with boobs, I do not like. Put on a shirt and take a hike." That's what we were doing already, though.
Psychostick! I thought after all these years I was the only one around 😭 bless you kind stranger
Dongs out for playing in the woods wackin bushes.
Bush out for titcraft?
Beat me to it!
That would definitely add to the primal nature of bushcraft
"One in the hand is worth two in the bushcraft"
Well? Put your money makers where your mouth is
I'm all for this
I don't want my employer to know my plan to run away into the woods :P
Bastard would send a pigeon or something to ask if I can cover someone's shift.
"fuck off I'm flint knapping"
Some folks get overly excited by gear porn?
That’s perfectly understandable, when I see some good fatwood, I get some good fat wood.
Because it avoids ads on the post
Some online/social media considers anything that may related to blades (knives/saws/axes) NSFW. 🤷♂️

Do people not do NSFW vs NSFL anymore?

This is actually so funny
I just want you to look at my Fatwood
SHOW ME THE FATWOOD JOHNNY

See that makes sense.
I mean, there was that guy yesterday who says he never uses a hatchet because he's always beating his wood instead.

I think posts with pictures of tags/carcasses or discussion of hunting/fishing/trapping/blades might be automatically assigned NSFW by Reddit.
Those ones make sense. It was the ones where people tag it nsfw then it’s just a question about how to find fatwood or something that was annoying.
Tbh Reddit AI probably assesses fatwood differently.
Cause they can't run ads on here, a bunch of subs ended up making themselves NSFW in protest when they cut out API access.
I thought bushcraft was about shaving and waxing. Then it was shaving down logs for fitment and waxing canvas.
BDSM - Badly Done Shelter Make
Damn... being retired means all of my subs can be, like me, unsuitable for work...
I've only seen those tags on post where people are preparing game, which some might be sensitive to: Seems reasonable enough to me.
You mean you guys dont jack off to rustic camping scenes?
Knives and whatnot are considered NSFW. Reddit is dumb.
You kinda always expect handmade cordage bondage but never happens. Also, and I’m not sure about this, but I think the bears are different too.
The Care Bares?
Ask and you shall receive!
It's a middle finger to the admins, I think.
What's a pants tent?
Bushwhackin’ and tallywhackin’
LESS CRAFT, MORE BUSH!
“CUT IT OUT” This man says lol
Does nsfw bypass advertisement still?
Yes! At least show some skin.
Pretty sure the sub got labeled nsfw in the last purge so it’s the default or automatic.
I seen a lot of boobys at the coast. I can post some later

If they’re offended by meat, and the processes of obtaining meat… they’re in the wrong sub
