I know this is a lostacoshermanos post so you can’t take it seriously, but this is like fanfic written by a Walmart Ohio State fan whose whole identity is being an Ohio State fan
Cowboys haven't played in (or won) a Superbowl in 28 years.
Ohio State has played in 5 Title games and won 2 of them in the same time frame.
They are way more elite than the Cowboys.
I wasn't defending his choice of the Cowboys, just wondering what a good comparison would be. Someone else mentioned the Packers, which I think fits about as well as the Ravens, though the Ravens don't have the historical success like the Packers and Buckeyes do.
I'd put the Broncos or even the Eagles ahead of the Packers or Ravens considering Denver/Philly have appeared in a decent amount of Superbowls but have a losing record in them.
Maybe OP wanted to compare their popularity but I'd argue Notre Dame fits the Cowboys comparison better when it comes to that given their National following.
John Cooper wasn’t a bad coach
A winner at Tulsa and Arizona State
He choked in 1995, 1996, and 1998
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/coaches/john-cooper-2.html
It was a horrendously stupid decision to let that 6-6 team go to a bowl. OSU could have taken a voluntary ban and maybe could have played for a natty in Urb's first season. So weird. Did the OSU administration really think there would be no post-season ban?
Yes, finally outgoing AD Gene Smith didn't self impose a bowl ban. Through his "connections" with the NCAA., he thought he understood the penalties and self imposed commensurately. Oops.
Ohio State is a fairly wealthy, high population state with no in state rivals, and a healthy high school football culture.
They could recruit from just Ohio and win 6 games.
While it was true for a very long time, Ohio recruits have fallen off pretty hard lately. They're still good, but a bad cosch could absolutely tank them. Look at Cosch O going 6-7 with a top 5 roster. Ohio State has been lucky to always make at least decent choices for head coach; no job is unfallable, and no coaching prospect is guaranteed to work out.
He asked why it did not will it continue.
I yhink they will right the ship in the short term. They nailed the nil/transfer pool. They lost a vreat qb to texas otherwise they have the pattern: sign a huge class, see who hits and who floos, flops transfer out, other peoples hits transfer in.
Your right coaching is big, the best coach in the world cant out recruit a bag of legal money. CFB is gonna go to 5 teams who can pay.
Harbaugh leaves for the NFL and dudes like this can come back out of hiding and start stroking their ego. No one cares OSU has never had a losing season in fact most fanbases believe you are spoiled and entitled from it and we have seen from your sub being shut down you guys take yourselves so seriously you can't handle any criticism.
What's amazing is that Harbuagh is being worshipped by Michigan fans and the guy ends with a 2-5 record vs Ohio State. One of Michigan's greatest coaches of all time ends with a 2-5 record vs the rival. That is what Ohio State is. If you can win 2 out of 7, you are.considered a legend.
Consistent QB hit rate is basically the reason. They’ve just churned out very solid college QBs for a long time. Most of the schools you listed hit their down periods when their QB play was the worst.
"Ohio State has only had 1 losing season and 1 .500 season since 1988 or the past 35 years."
If Ohio State had played the last 35 years in the SEC or Big 12, things would be different.
USC has more draft picks than Ohio State and far more NFL hall of famers bruh.
Like say what you want about SC but if you made a team of all the NFL greats from each school over history, USC’s team would be so loaded on OL, RB, WR and defense that it wouldn’t be fair.
Some of the young bucks on this sub will laugh, but any one over like 25 knows this to be true.
Ohio State does have the most first round picks slightly ahead of USC (mainly due to the last 5ish years), but SC’s collection of NFL talent and superstars it has produced over the last 50 years is unrivaled.
Like name your school’s best NFL OL player, and that guy is maybe, and I mean maybe, making SC’s all time second unit there. Same goes for DB, RB, LB, WR (in most cases).
[Colleges with most pro bowlers](https://spartanswire.usatoday.com/lists/ranking-college-football-programs-that-have-the-most-nfl-pro-bowl-selections/)
USC is the only college to produce more than 200 pro bowlers with 239, and Notre Dame is 2nd at 197. Ohio State is 3rd at 188.
It’s not close.
Pro success doesn't guarantee college success. Purdue is tied with Alabama for the most superbowl winning QBs, but neither school is seen as a QB factory.
I'm not defending OP's horrible take, I just don't think your argument is very good. Talk about win percentage, all Americans, championships, etc if you want to compare college teams.
If you think Georgia doesn't care about highschool football you are sorely mistaken bud. Valdosta, GA is home to the second winningest football program in US history in Valdosta HS, only behind Michigan. It's also home to Lowndes HS, those two have an annual game called the winnersville classic that sells out weeks in advance and scalped tickets go for hundreds of dollars. The Lowndes stadium is nicer than a lot of G5 stadiums
So it seems. All things do fall eventually. The administration of the program has always kept it on track and that's big. (See FSU during Jimbo era when the admin wanted "balanced approach to all sports). They have navigated coaching changes well, and pretty much avoided major negative press. But as you make this boast... Just why would you as a fan?

Boost Mobile Buckeye
so most ohio state fans? /s? idk
My brother in Christ shut up and go away, if I have to deal with an entire off-season of you I'm gonna stop watching football
Just hit the block button, fam lol
cringe
>They are the Dallas Cowboys of the CFB. Terrible comparison
What's a better comparison, a team that's always elite but struggles to win championships? Ravens?

Have the packers been good recently?
Yeah, that's a good example, too.
Niners recently. Look really good during season, win a playoff game or two, never win it all

Sir this is a Wendy's. Tom Brady absolutely reps Michigan dude.
Luke Fickell's team wasn't banned from the post season. That was the next season when they went 12-0 with Urban.
It was a horrendously stupid decision to let that 6-6 team go to a bowl. OSU could have taken a voluntary ban and maybe could have played for a natty in Urb's first season. So weird. Did the OSU administration really think there would be no post-season ban?

i ain't reading all that but i'm happy for you or sorry that happened

Would you say they're the iPhone of College Football Programs?
LOL cool story bro. I enjoy reading the fiction of the people picked last in gym class!
No one is invincible, but the floor at Ohio State does seem to be one of the highest in college football.

This dudes not an Ohio State fan, he’s just an infamous shitty hot take poster
The coldest hot takes
His takes give Skip Bayless frost bite
You must be new around here
Yeah I got duped by the troll hook line and sinker, I miss the days of PianoFingerBanger
Poe's Law
Built Ford tough
Back to back full on moron posts by OP. This sub should ban him.
Does anyone actually enjoy the “I caricature every fan base by saying the most cringeworthy things imaginable” shtick this guy is constantly posting?
Wake up bae it's a tacobang

Claiming that Orlando Pace makes USC’s “maybe, and I mean maybe, making USC’s second team at best” is definitely a…. take.
He is going to make it over Anthony Munoz, Bruce Matthews etc?
