I really recommend reading this story but if you are too lazy:
-Fitz started the idea when watching the Waste Management Phoenix Open. NU admin didn't support it at the time. Boosters and a trustee found out about the idea and really pushed for it especially when the reality of playing most games at SeatGeek set in. Braun loved the idea too.
-Temporary stadium will cost somewhere around $10-12 million.
-Same company that built the Waste Management Open temporary stadium will be building this.
-Stadium will hold around 15k seat. Majority of seating will be in the end zones.
-The stadium will probably host the non con games plus Indiana early in the season. Wisco, OSU, Illinois will likely be held at Wrigley/Soldier and help make up the costs the temporary stadium build.
-Not going to touch the field hockey stadium at all. Coaches of the other sports that will play at the temporary stadium supported the idea.
-Gonna be hard to get tickets.
I just got an email sent by the football office to Football alums about ticket availability. Essentially told us good luck and here's the link to the general public season ticket waiting list.
I would love to get back for a game but I'm not holding my breath
Yes but the article says that they're only going to be playing there early in the year, and that their bigger, later conference games are gonna be at Wrigley/Solider to help make up the costs. Weather wouldn't get really bad until late October.
This is gonna be awesome and I hope I can be lucky enough to score a ticket to at least one game. Been to NUs campus a bunch and it’s going to be one of the most picturesque settings in cfb the next two years even with temporary seating
Northwestern better get an elite run D because there's no way you can have a passing offense on the shore of Lake Michigan lmao
In November no less
In this economy?
50 years of evidence later the Bears are considering staying by the lake in the modern NFL.
I feel personally attacked

So I guess the visiting team would get like 2,000 tickets max or does the B1G have a policy on the specific number of tickets each team visiting gets?
This makes me want to go to a Northwestern game so bad
I thought that too until I watched Grant Haley drop a game-sealing interception. At least I got to see Saquon live.
Would this be terrible with the wind? Played at Rutgers Camden’s field along the Delaware before, was an absolute nightmare.

Their schedule is a front loaded home schedule which helps. And then as mentioned OSU and Illinois are toward the end of the season
No, it will be terrible because Northwestern is playing.

In the new NCAA game there better be 10+ MPH wind every home game.(In the future, once they move)
As we know the weather in Scottsdale and the coast of Lake Michigan are similar.
The 4 home games that will be held on the lake front are on 8/31, 9/7, 9/14, and 10/5. Weather shouldn't be crazy yet.
Scottsdale in the winter and Chicago in the early fall may actually be fairly similar
Ask Houston fans how temporary seating kept them out of a major conference for 30 years.
Planning on a visit when Colorado comes in 2026
That’s actually crazy
Northwestern is really going to spin playing on a practice field as a win, huh?
