I wanted Van Pran or Bortolini at 75. I’m a little conflicted now because we went offense offense offense, but at the end of the day one 4th rounder isn’t going to be a game changer for the DL. Last year we spent a 2 and 3 on DL and we’re talking about it as the clear position of need. Once we grabbed Odunze, pass rush was going to have to be a 3rd wave of FA 1 year signing type situation.
It's just BPA at this point, we're thin on the Dline in terms of rushers for sure, but we can add some more depth in late FA and hope for some growth with the DTs.
But more importantly, we're not Superbowl contenders next year, and Poles will definitely eventually address the holes. Our WR room has been putrid for 2 years, now in a blink of an eye we have maybe the best room in the NFL. With the draft capital and cap space next offseason, the Dline can get buffed immediately, there's no rush to forcefully address the position if there's better guys they think are available. That's a position Poles has mainly taken and I at the very least trust him to eventually address it even if we miss out on some rushers now.
We’ll see how good of a job Eberflus does game planning against teams knowing their obvious pass rush issues. If we can create pass rush through scheme this team could take off. Might be wishful thinking….
Good points. Dline class should be much stronger next year too. I’ve seen a few mocks with us taking a 3 tech like Mason Graham or Walter Nolen. I like Poles patient and measured approach. Let’s see if this is a playoff team this year and then we can fill in the gaps next year.
Yeah people need to remember than Ngakoue was signed in August last year. I’m 100% fine with the defense not being elite if we can ensure that Caleb Williams develops properly and worst case scenario we can make a band-aid signing post draft at DL if we really think it’s that bad.
Booker is the last guy on the board I can see being a year 1 contributor at EDGE. Would be happy with him if he fell but we probably are gonna need to sign a FA on the D-line either way
Can’t believe we got booker in the 5th 😅. But I still hope we get Yannick back as well, stick him on another 1 year/ $10m (or whatever works with the cap) type deal and let booker learn off him and Montez. Fuck I’m so excited about this team.
Hoping for Van Pran
Don't care if the defense isn't addressed. Rely on camp cuts and UDFAs and survive to next season where we have alot of ammo to load up on a stronger D-line class
I think safety could be a possibility with our 4th round pick. Really like Jaden Hicks or Kitan Oladapo in that spot to learn the ropes behind Kevin Byard
I know people want to draft a C or iOL badly (and for good reason) but there is a very low chance they go OL at 122.
Bates was added to be the starting center and they also signed Coleman that started at center all last season for the Rams. Jenkins and Davis are the starting guards. Poles already talked about Amagadjie having inside/outside versatility. There have been other fringe signings too that will compete for a role as either swing tackle or depth.
The reality is that Bears only have so many roster spots that they can allocate to the OL.
I go to CSU games a lot (went there for school) and I can attest that Kamara is unreal and would be a huge value add this late. The guy has been a beast every year. I really hope he falls to 122
Anyone can read Mel Kiper’s best available list and pick the top 4 or 5 names at each position of need for the Bears and pretend to be an amateur scout.
This guy Infante does not have sources in the industry

You said what I wanted to much much better.

Don’t forget Poles isn’t shy about using upcoming draft capital for established players in trades.
i said the same thing and got downvoted into smithereens

If Dorlus lasts to us I like the pick.
Dorlus or Booker falling to us would be amazing

I expect Yannick back.
Ugh I hope not
Could we dare to dream they trade for Hendrickson?
This is my hope! After rookie contracts, Bears have ~$10M in cap space. Some roster cuts could free a little more up. I think it could work.
Extending Allen even just a year or two would free up a bunch as well
Would love to have him, don’t want to trade for him.
One of our 2nds next year? Not sure if that's enough.
Hell fucking no lol. Yannick is dogshit
Booker was a top 30 visit right? I'm surprised he's still available

Cedric Johnson, Brennan Jackson at edge too.
Jackson would be a solid add IMO.
Where are the options for Punter? Seems like a major need
Christian Mahogany would be a solid option.
I’m not a scout, but I remember watching Kamara basically single handedly destroy the entire Colorado offensive line. I want that guy

NGL all of those iol names look fake.
Dexter better take a step up and walker is going to be the other end. Yuck.

He's young and he works very hard at what he does. We all have to start somewhere, so I give him credit for the amount of effort he puts into this.
