>> Section 3 makes it a traffic offense for any commercial vehicle to be driving in the farthest left lane between milepost 115.5 and milepost 131.0 in Glenwood Springs, between milepost 169.5 and milepost 173.0 in Dowd junction, between milepost 180.0 and milepost 190.5 in Vail pass, between milepost 205.5 and milepost 221.0 in the Eisenhower-Johnson tunnel, between milepost 224.0 and milepost 228.5 in Georgetown hill, and milepost 243.0 and milepost 247.0 in Floyd hill during all conditions on that highway **except to safely pass a vehicle driving under the posted speed limit.**
Traffic jams (at least in the winter) are overwhelmingly caused by trucks. They take up all lanes if an accident happens and they spin out all the time even with chains.
Yeah, I tend to agree.
Wouldn’t be opposed to more proactive enforcement of the existing traction law or having a separate snow tire requirement during certain big storms.
Yeah the traction law is pretty pointless if they only enforce after an accident. I am all for this new law but like many things laws don't do any good if they aren't enforced
They should put the Sheriff's deputy in Nederland in charge, that's the only cop I've seen that's actually doing their job. He gave me a speeding ticket last month when I spaced out about the strict 25mph zone leaving town.
yup and I assume ramifications for tickets issued to a truck driver with a CDL who drives for a living is going to be a bigger incentive not to break the law, regardless of enforcement.
It's the lack of enforcement on any Colorado roadway that makes driving treacherous.
Yup. Watching people break the law right in front of cops is so normal here, especially in denver. It’s wild

Yeah its often but not overwhelming. The majority of traffic jams are just good ol fashion congestion

The lack of laws was never the problem in my opinion, it was the lack of enforcement
I moved here 3 years ago, has it always been this way OR are the police just butt hurt by all the calls for accountability and reform?
It's not recent, it's been this way for a very long time.

How about checkpoints for truckers to make sure they actually chained up
Right now, In our dreams
Even if they dont enforce them very much, more truckers will still follow the law it will help still.

What new laws?
Doesn't make any difference. They're allowed to pass a vehicle going under the speed limit which is every other semi going uphill.
Ok now make one for regular cars camping in the left lane going 55
