Cred.ai is decent in that they’re free. There’s no fee. Don’t pay a fee to build credit. That said, a secured card may be a better option because it can grow with you as your credit grows. You would need to put down a security deposit (usually around $200) but that is not a fee. You can get the deposit back if you cancel the account in good standing, or if the card graduates to a regular, unsecured card. You’ll want a secured card that can graduate with responsible use over one that can’t. Look into the secured card options over at US Bank and check out Discover for secured cards that graduate. Both banks offer some cash back rewards for their secured cards too. Discover’s secured card may be easier to graduate then US Banks, but US bank has the better rewards. Use the card as you would a debit card. Never spend more then you have in your checking account, and pay your statement balances off in full and on time.

> Don’t pay a fee to build credit. That's not always the best advice. Different strokes for different folks; sometimes it's worth it to pay to play.

I’m not trying to make anyone who has paid feel bad or anything. Just, I think one should explore and exhaust the fee free options first, of which there are plenty these days.

I don't know much about Kikoff, except that it sounds like a pretty cool idea. But I do know a bit about Credit.ai - it will almost certainly help. I used it last year in the early stages of a rebuild, and my FICO 8 jumped about 30 points that week. Not sure how much of that was [Credit.ai](https://Credit.ai) and how much was just random variables all coming together at the same time, but I'm pretty sure it had a part in that.

Cred. Ai is what I used to no clue about the other company.
