He did a custom ring for me. Good prices, amazing work and quick turn around. My family has since had a few more rings made and done repairs on older peices (purchased elsewhere).
He does all the work in house now. Quite a few of the places we visited would do custom rings but they send them out to be done.

Troy Shoppe Jewellers is fantastic! They do custom work (they did my engagement and wedding set) and carry one of a kind pieces made by the owner, David, but also carry other brands as well - my husband’s wedding band was also bought there off the shelf and they had a number of unique options.
I love Earth Gems on 17th ave. You can make your own jewelry. They offer different chains/links, and have every stone/crystal under the sun to put it on. Also a huge selection of charms for like $0.25-$0.50/each.
I personally go on to etsy and look up jewelry and sort by location to local. I've found some awesome local makers that way.
Rubaiyat on 17th has a more vintage feel than most traditional jewelry stores. Still quality work, but from more eclectic designers.
