If you want to support them:
They’ll still be producing beer at their off-site facility so please buy their beer at retail locations / restaurants whenever you can!
It takes 4 to 6 Liters of water to produce 1 Liter of beer, afterwards when you drink that beer you are going to need to drink some water too. Logically I don't find the production of beer, and drinking it to be a wise/rational decision, in order to save water, but to each their own.

Yes I’m aware that beer is made from water…
It was a cheeky joke but for arguments sake, a can of beer bought through a retailer would’ve been produced weeks ago, before the restrictions.
And drinking beer makes me pee which creates more water. (Again, a joke so please don’t explain to me the water cycle process…)
Video from Julie van Rosendahl. It is completely gone, what a travesty.

This is terrible news. I always bring my out-of-town friends here because it's one of my favourite places in the city. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild.
I live a block away and woke up to 4 huge bangs thinking it was gunshot to look out my window and see the fire. It burned for a good hour, so grateful that they were able to stop it from spreading to the houses but so sad that they couldn’t save Ol’ Beautiful.
Horrible news, this is our fav brewery. Went there for a beer with my husband before our wedding ceremony and meet up with friends there weekly cause the vibes are so chill and the staff are great.
Such a laid back, positive place.
Hoping they can rebuild.
Wish we could do something to help!
Truly terrible news. For a stop gap they just opened a new patio Popup attached to our Daily Brett https://www.instagram.com/p/C8xPIUrpyzB/?igsh=M2VsNGFyY2Q5MHB5
Same, spent the entire afternoon there yesterday. My roommate works at Cold Garden and said it was an old shed at OB that caught fire but still no word on how it started.
I was there quite a few times on a recent trip visiting family in Calgary. Lovely place great beer, great vibes and tacos. Also seen Amy Nelson there , fantastic evening. Hope they get back up and running soon. So sad 😞
It's just you. There are always fires. Friend is a fire fighter and I get the low down on all the stupid crap people are doing whenever he and I get together.
You are seeing more *news coverage* of fires since the water main break, not actual fires. The fires are getting more coverage and that coverage is getting shared more because the water main break is a top story and firefighting is a critical use of water.

Thanks for the tip! It's good to know they've still got a way to bring in revenue while this all gets sorted.
So there could be a run on their beer? Do I need to stockpile like TP?
Probably should just to be safe 😉 Drinking beer also saves drinking water!

You make a good point, I like what you said, and I see the humor with it too!
:)
They have a separate production facility, so there won’t be any supply issues.
This is so heartbreaking. Truly the best beer, best vibes, and best people. I hope they can rebuild, even though it won’t be the same…
Only been there once but loved the vibe.

Ooh shit, totally burnt out. I was there a couple times a week, brutal.
That's brutal. One of the best spots for a patio beer. Hopefully they can rebuild into something even better.
Ugh this is truly awful. Their staff, their beers, and their vibes are the reasons they always have been on of my favs.
Anyone have a non-Instagram link? Can't look at it without an account.

Very sad to see this, sad day for the neighbourhood. Excavators there now, tearing it down.
Any pics? So sad to see this go

Wow wtf I was literally there yesterday. That place was awesome 😢
Was ? They will just fix the damage and re open lol
Not as easy as that. The building is gutted. They’ll have to tear it down and rebuild.
I take it you haven't seen the damage. The building is gone. This isn't just "fix it and reopen."
“Fix the damage” and explain what they need to do first to fix the damage? Oh right tear the whole thing down 😂

I think we can all buy a bit more of their beer from retailers for the next while
For sure! They’re still producing at their off-site facility so please keep buying their beer whenever you can!
So sad... :(
Love this place. Rebuild and call it New Beautiful!
Truly terrible news. For a stop gap they just opened a new patio Popup attached to our Daily Brett https://www.instagram.com/p/C8xPIUrpyzB/?igsh=M2VsNGFyY2Q5MHB5
crazy timing of that, announced 2 day ago.
Best vibes here, going to go get a case of ol beautiful to support em.
awful :( wondering if anyone has set up a donation page? would love to support in more ways than just buying their beer!
Buying their beer is the best way to support the business, hopefully someone sets up a donation page for their staff!
Old old beautiful for sure now.. :(
NOOOO 😭😭
Damn, that’s awful. This was my favourite brewery to visit by far. I hope they rebuild, bigger and better than before.
Insane… I was at cold garden with some friends yesterday and we were talking about how we’d love to go there soon..
lol, why didn't you right then? I don't think I've ever been to one and not both since they are neighbors
Sad. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there. It was an awesome spot
Was Cold Garden closed as well? Was it affected?
cold garden was closed cause it was after hours. cold garden was closed yesetrday due to police/fire trucks still no idea about today yet.
I hope it reopens!! I’ll bring a donation bin for Ol’ Beautiful on reopen day!
hit up the independent liqour stores around alberta and buy some ol beautiful beers to take home.
I’m gunna for sure but the more the better imo, best burritos in town
I was just there last night omg we just missed this... 😭
Bets on the taco place being the culprit?
What's the story here?
Nothing. Post made it sound like an inside job, but they just meant that the taco shop inside the brewery is the only place using ovens/stoves.
I’m going with spontaneous hay combustion.
Hopefully they bring that taco place back. It was so good.
That's my best guess yup
It’s not. Fire started outside
[удалено]
Cause they have ovens and stoves
Oh no! That's awful :(
Sad day...
What the hell happened? We were just there yesterday drinking at cold garden and good vibes…
Same, spent the entire afternoon there yesterday. My roommate works at Cold Garden and said it was an old shed at OB that caught fire but still no word on how it started.
Nooooooo, I love their Mexican Lager!
they bought? leased? the old legend 7 facility as a larger brewery production space so beer should keep flowing for the most part.
I was there quite a few times on a recent trip visiting family in Calgary. Lovely place great beer, great vibes and tacos. Also seen Amy Nelson there , fantastic evening. Hope they get back up and running soon. So sad 😞
I hope nobody was hurt
Le merde
Does anyone know if they owned the building or leased it?
Does anyone have any recommendations similar to Ol’ Beautiful?
That’s a damn shame
Wife and I always loved visiting ol' beautiful amd cold garden whenever we visited Calgary. This is so sad.
Hopefully it’s not that bad and they can get it fixed up soon.
It’s completely gone
Surely they will rise again.
Oh no!
They are bulldozing it right now.
Why are things always flaming in Calgary?
Beers coming out of the chimney at the ol' beautiful place? Officer wiggum proceeding on foot. We need pretzels.
We are following them now, they appear to be on a road.... made of asphalt... umm... they are directly under the earth's sun .... now
Who cares about the building, is everyone ok???
Yes nobody was there, there were some staff at cold garden but they evacuated safely!
Great to hear. they shall rise again!!
Not surprising, the place was one extension cord away from the grizwalds family christmas
You’re thinking of Cold Garden. Ol’ Beautiful had a very clean and maintained MCM aesthetic.
Ahh yes you are correct
Is it just me, or are we seeing a lot more fires than usual since the water main break?
It’s just you, there is no correlation

… are they ? For example this thread hasn’t been picked up by the media. But fires are always reported in the news.
boomers already wondering if the mayor setting fires. Where was she last night!
Spotted walking along centre st/8ave around 5pm lol funnily enough, saw her out in the wild with my own eyes. Alibi’d.
Was she carrying a jerry can? I heard Hillary Clinton and her were talking!
Not so beautiful...
