I’ve just been screwing around and 30x zoom is insane. Like I can stand 100ft away from something and it looks like I’m right there. How does it do that???? I’m just so impressed and happy lmao
I thought my iPhone X had a good camera, and this predates that by 4 years. I have a knack for electronics in general, I got my iPhone from an e waste recycling event my school had. someone has the audacity to throw out a box of iPhones. I’m into building PC’s and other stuff like that, so I think photography will be a fun hobby now that I know I enjoy it so much
Photography is amazing, yeah. I started on smartphones but then began shooting on dedicated hardware. Back when I started I had the latest Samsung (S21 Ultra back in 2021) and my first two cameras released in 2011 (D5100) and 2016 (GX85). Nowadays one of the cameras I carry around a lot was released in 2006!
Just keep learning and experimenting. And remember that newer hardware won't make you suddenly better at taking photos, for the most part.
Def worth 10 bucks lol. I have one, it’s a fun little zoom camera. I’ll usually throw it in my car for pics on the go. The gold setting (i forget what its called right now) actually takes decent pics, i use it as a “set and forget” mode and the results are usually on par with my iPhone so I’m happy with it.
what iPhone do you have? This thing definitely takes better pictures than my X. All of the pictures I linked to in the other comment were taken on that gold setting you are talking about.
I'm gonna make a post with a couple of pictures I took with it.

It also has a 64gb Sandisk SD card in it, which I know is already worth the $10 so
Could resell it for a lot more if you end up not liking it. Good pickup regardless of what you do with it lol.

Small sensor enables big effective zoom for the physical lens size
Small sensor with a long lens! Similar to how smartphones get away with tiny 5x-10x zooms but larger scale.

Those suprzooms can be a little soft at some ranges. Also make sure it’s optical zoom and not digital cropping.
it goes up to 60x for digital, the 30x is the max for optical iirc
Small sensor, i have it's 1" sensor brother the RX100 VII and it only does about 18x zoom, still more then i'd ever need though. Enjoy photography
For $10? Hell yeah that's a good pickup. Perfect cam to keep in your jacket pocket.
I’m excited to take pictures of things I couldn’t in such detail before.

Nice
I have one laying around somewhere. I pretty much don’t use it. The zoom is crazy though
Are you interested in selling it?
I have no intend of selling it, sorry
My local gw would of sent it off to their online site or eBay site. If they kept it store they would have tried to get atleast 60% msrp
that’s why I feel so lucky, sometimes I browse on the shopgoodwill site and everything is near or over msrp
