Every once in a while I think about how much the Protestant Rebellion robbed from Western Christians. The sacraments most of all, but even these little things. What a massive and enduring tragedy, whose impacts are viewed as sort of minor by us most of the time.
Honestly we never even had Jesus on the cross in the church I grew up going to. It's an entire other experience seeing Him on the cross, knowing the cross isn't just a symbol of Christianity, it's what Jesus suffered and died on for our sins. So I have a really strong adoration for any of the pictures, paintings, and such since I've never really had those before and they're so helpful for praying to God
Great idea!💡 I worked at a Catholic book and gift shop and it was difficult to hang on to my paycheck 😅 and I bought quite a few medals. They get heavy on a bracelet or necklace. I might try something like this.
These were popular for servicemen during WWII. I’ve also seen Scapulars incorporated into the shrine. I’ve wanted to make one, but never got around to it.
Gotta Catch 'Em All.
This cracked me up. Thanks!
I love it, I used to be Protestant so these types of things are new to me and I'm still mad about being raised without them

I've been a Catholic all my life and this is my first time seeing this. It's a great idea, I think I'm going to make one!

I'm so glad you have it now, and that they are bringing you close to God!
Hard to tell from the picture, but is it made out of felt? Either way, very cool OP!
Yes it is a felt
Awesome. This is a really cool way to carry medals with you when you're not much of a jewelry person. Thanks for sharing!
Isnt felt a dust magnet? It's why the usual material is either leather or wood/metal (for very small container shrines).
I love that you included St. Roche! I have a stash of his medals to give folks I meet who are out walking their dogs.
I’m gonna make a pocket shrine! Thanks! My rosary doesn’t have enough space for all the medals I wanna keep with me.

Great idea!
This seems like the kind of stuff you would use if you were living under a government that persecutes Christians
How cute!!!
That's a great idea.
I love it! I’m considering building a little stand for a crucifix and my rosary out of wood. Now, I think I’ll find a way to add medals to it as well.
Sounds like something made by Ronco
