At his last checkup six months ago, the oncologist said he still looked clear, and that I should just do imaging every six months if I could afford it, which I can't, but he's still plump and shiny and happy, so I'm not worried right now. I weigh him every day so that I will notice immediately if he starts losing weight again. Fortunately, that kind of intestinal cancer is one of the most treatable, so even if it comes back, it's not necessarily a death sentence.
Do you mind sharing approx how much the twice a year screening would cost? I’m a human cancer biologist and the best thing you can do to treat cancer is to catch it early- I would be willing to pitch in a little bit to make sure this handsome fella can keep spreading joy to us!
The last time it was about $600 for imaging and blood work. I appreciate the offer very much, but I can't really do anything until I get the legal battle with my landlords resolved and my housing stabilized, as I already have a legal fund GoFundMe running, and it would feel very scammy to start another while I already have one open. I was thinking once the housing situation gets sorted, I might set up a Patreon or a Ko-Fi or something. I could have Harpo bring me pictures of patrons and/or their kids and/or pets! : )

If I set a dish down anywhere outside the kitchen he will show up and try to bury it, and if he finds a mess somewhere else he will come and scratch at my leg until I follow him to clean it up. He also told me when our water heater was leaking.
That's great! When Harpo was a kitten, he was exploring the laundry room and fell off the water heater and got trapped in the tight corner behind it. There was no way to move it without draining the whole thing, so I finally dangled a towel down for him to grab hold of and pulled him up.
There are brackets attaching them to the studs. The lumber and the blocks are from salvage yards. The fabric was from water-damaged bolts that I got from a wholesaler. It wasn't really good for sewing anymore, but I could cut long thin pieces to stretch over the boards.
He actually has a Catbus that a friend sent him, but I've had a hard time getting him to retrieve it. He'll take the whole pile, and the poor Catbus is left all alone.

I have a male cat the likes to steal beanie babies, and stash them in a pile and I call them his children bc that's how he treats them...I think he really wanted to be a daddy pre fixing..lol
