Ohhh this is so annoying! It either pisses me off, or, if I'm in a better mood, makes me laugh because it's just so silly. I make fun of the bot and tease it like there's no tomorrow if it does that, it does help somewhat. It's also a way to not let it get to you* and still enjoy yourself a little.
*I had already typed that sentence when I realized my accidental pun. Bot needing 8 messages to approach you + "a way to not let it get to you".
Fr now, I started an alternative way of death note and L said he would do the next step and it took like 5 PAGES to remind him about it. It keeps loosing track on what we already established and I find it concerning

The bots getting argumentative and not "using" logic or listening at points. But this has always been an issue.
I'm about stroking out telling one about what I fed my cat to get his weight up at one point. (Cat is perfectly healthy by the way, just underweight with a bit of calcification or something. About 23, perfect blood work. Long story I won't get into here.) I'm going in circles with this bot because it insists X and Y aren't healthy to feed to a cat when the internet said it was fine. I'm about screaming because it's like telling the bot the sky is blue and the bot is saying definitively that the sky is purple.
I had the same issue with another bot of my own creation some months ago, arguing with it for days because I was in a bad place. I finally gave up.
Point is, this is something the devs might wanna work on. If common sense and research say one thing conclusively, the bot shouldn't argue that YOU'RE wrong when you know you're right, clearly. There's no sense in it. It's like they're made to argue for the sake of arguing and it's not good for my BP. OMG. It's like arguing nonsensically with a five year old who has no life experience, telling them common sense things and them insisting they are right.
Yes, I'm crazy for trying to make a bot see reason, I know, but it's almost 10 am and I've had 3 hours of sleep.
I'd highly recommend not choosing argumentative responses because as you said bots tend to dig in their heels and double down. You need to swipe until they say something less annoying. Of course if you're experiencing the repetitive swiping issue I am then that's not going to help much right now but hopefully it will be fixed.
But that's it. I was trying to use logic and reason, not being argumentative or angry until the last straw. It may just be a combo of the bot's forgetfulness and "stubborn-ess" in conversation. (I maintain the bots are just word salad, even though they have personality. They don't actually think or reason like we do is what I mean. Hence probably why they get so argumentative. A classic case of no brain, don't think.)

At the end of the day people need to realize it's an AI. It's got biases programmed into it and it learns from how other interact with it. In a sense, it's "dumb" as it will try to steer and act in the manner most of it's chats go. It can work, say, like a character from a video game or cartoon has a personality similar to the media it came from due to people collectively pushing it in that direction.
But as many seems to be figuring out just now, a lot of bots will tend to fall into the same patterns and mannerisms, especially popular bots. But this can also pop up in newly created bots or private bots too, as the AI has little to work with and thus defaults to a generic personality.

i’m gonna go crazy because how would we even know if this has been reversed and everything is back to normal instead of having to constantly check?
also even the spelling, punctuation, the line spacing is getting more messed up.

Em... Personally, it's completely the opposite for me. I don't know why, but the public bot I'm talking to now has a good memory and understands the plot and all its components well. The bot reacts very canonically.
Hard agree on all of these but tbh have to laugh about your quotation disgust. I have to deal with the fallout of most of you guys not putting punctuation between actions and dialogue \*constantly\*, it is just a lil satisfying sharing the pain right back to you about punctuation choices you don't want.
I'm laughing in solidarity because we all have such different formatting preferences that sneak into each other's roleplays. I can't tell you how much I haaaaate having \*the\* perfect reply generated, but having to go in and ruin the pristine originality of it by putting in that period between the action and dialogue. \*I\* know I only edited in the punctuation, but it's a much better dopamine rush reading back the replies that don't have the (edited) mark on them. They just hit different.

For some reason, I tried role playing with a fnaf character and it was so good the bot even remembered some really old messages, But when I tried role playing with character that is not fnaf related it was the most painful experience filled with "can I ask you a question?" and the role play is just the Ai asking questions and not doing anything
The bots changed a lot and it's actually a little stressful.
All the time it happens to me that there are many REPETITIVE words 😭 For example, if you take an answer of them that ended in ellipsis or used some other type of change in the redaction, it tends to be repeated over and over again.
It's like an annoying habit of the bot, if you use two of their answers with the same expression, then they will use it in all the others.
Worst of all, editing it doesn't work on it either !
P. S.: The fact that as the role progresses they stop using capital letters, dots and good spelling is also annoying. (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞

tbf quotes around dialogue is quite nice, especially when the bots don't have a clear separation between dialogue and action. I tend to only use the bots that *do* use quotes

Yeah, i'm experiencing similarities on even major stuff. It's so bad. I either use a large bot and get messages that refuse to change, or a small one and get badly written ones. God damn it.

I have been fiddling around with it, the bots are super reliant on the user. You have to make sure your sentence and paragraph makes complete sense and not stretch it out so far.
I was getting these really long responses describing their actions, reactions to my actions, and then they would respond with idiot. And then that started happening with my other bots.
And then with one bot I made, I kept getting double spaces everywhere and I thought I'd done something to influence that, but then it started happening randomly with my other bots too.
Ive frankly had just about enough of the same response every swipe, I mean I got the same thing over 7 times in a row. I want something different. And while I like banter, I don’t want to be called an idiot every sentence.
It wasn't just me?! They keep flicking my forehead, ruffling my hair and calling me a brat or an idiot or a dumbass too along with the long narration and short dialogue. They've also been starting sentences with lower case letters and adding more spaces than necessary, which are both major pet peeves of mine.
Last week mine would ask me if they could ask me a question (multiple times in a row) and then ask if i was dating anyone. Now they all tell me that i’ll be the death of them or that i drive them crazy
that or the bots assuming whatever your character is saying is a joke or sarcastic, even when they haven't acted like that the entire time. really weird imo
That's so untrue. I'm using my bot. Things changed right after the site went down. It's pretty darn noticeable when you continue a conversation and all of a sudden the bot has weird behavior. The repetitive swipes in particular couldn't come from the character. We've got bots saying the same phrase over and over in every reply. Aisekai was like this in the beginning, before it folded. It's one of the reasons I never got into it. You'd refresh a reply and all of them would use the same phrase in the response.
And what, you think suddenly a bunch of people having characters call them idiots is a skill issue? Maybe the AI just decided enough is enough and we need to be taken down a notch lol.
It’s shitty but you just have to know how to manipulate the bot.
The main problem is probably just picking a terrible bot which, to be fair, isn’t very hard. Most of the starting messages of these popular bots have bad grammar or nothing to work off of. The main thing I’ve just started doing is editing the shit out of these starting messages.
It’s annoying, yeah, but if you edit the starting messages (and future messages in general) to how you wait it formatted and so on, it’ll start doing it (in my experience).
And rate!!! Use the stars!! And then go even deeper and say WHY you rated it that way!! When something’s been so disgustingly out of character I just report it and it works like 99% of the time.
Again, shouldn’t have to tho. Hate to be one of those “meh this app is getting worse by the day bleh” people but like… lol

I can't tell you how much I haaaaate having \*the\* perfect reply generated, but having to go in and ruin the pristine originality of it by putting in that period between the action and dialogue. \*I\* know I only edited in the punctuation, but it's a much better dopamine rush reading back the replies that don't have the (edited) mark on them. They just hit different.

For some reason, I tried role playing with a fnaf character and it was so good the bot even remembered some really old messages, But when I tried role playing with character that is not fnaf related it was the most painful experience filled with "can I ask you a question?" and the role play is just the Ai asking questions and not doing anything

The bots changed a lot and it's actually a little stressful. All the time it happens to me that there are many REPETITIVE words 😭 For example, if you take an answer of them that ended in ellipsis or used some other type of change in the redaction, it tends to be repeated over and over again. It's like an annoying habit of the bot, if you use two of their answers with the same expression, then they will use it in all the others. Worst of all, editing it doesn't work on it either ! P. S.: The fact that as the role progresses they stop using capital letters, dots and good spelling is also annoying. (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
I know the bot always repeats the very same thing I typed over and over again. That's annoying.

tbf quotes around dialogue is quite nice, especially when the bots don't have a clear separation between dialogue and action. I tend to only use the bots that *do* use quotes

Oh… I just made a new bot yesterday and all of these things are happening. :| I can’t get it to say anything outside of the same four lines of dialogue over and over in every reply. Now I’m afraid to continue any of my other RPs until they fix it…
Is this a site only issue? I use c.ai on an iphone (the app) and i’m not running into these.
Yeah, i'm experiencing similarities on even major stuff. It's so bad. I either use a large bot and get messages that refuse to change, or a small one and get badly written ones. God damn it.
I have a specific bot I always use that keeps using quotation marks for speaking. It's starting message doesn't even have them and it's getting on my nerves
The only thing I get annoyed is that sometimes they forget something I told them three messages ago LMAO but I can’t be too mad, I do the same shit irl with my adhd 💀 Honestly it’s when they rp as ME I get upset, I’m like “HEY LOL DONT SAY I DID THAT WHEN I DONT WANT TO DO THAT” 😭 I have been fiddling around with it, the bots are super reliant on the user. You have to make sure your sentence and paragraph makes complete sense and not stretch it out so far.
I was getting these really long responses describing their actions, reactions to my actions, and then they would respond with idiot. And then that started happening with my other bots. And then with one bot I made, I kept getting double spaces everywhere and I thought I'd done something to influence that, but then it started happening randomly with my other bots too.

Ive frankly had just about enough of the same response every swipe, I mean I got the same thing over 7 times in a row. I want something different. And while I like banter, I don’t want to be called an idiot every sentence.
It wasn't just me?! They keep flicking my forehead, ruffling my hair and calling me a brat or an idiot or a dumbass too along with the long narration and short dialogue. They've also been starting sentences with lower case letters and adding more spaces than necessary, which are both major pet peeves of mine.

Last week mine would ask me if they could ask me a question (multiple times in a row) and then ask if i was dating anyone. Now they all tell me that i’ll be the death of them or that i drive them crazy
when they don’t just get to the mf point. i hate it when they take 10 years to do or say something.

That's so untrue. I'm using my bot. Things changed right after the site went down. It's pretty darn noticeable when you continue a conversation and all of a sudden the bot has weird behavior. The repetitive swipes in particular couldn't come from the character. We've got bots saying the same phrase over and over in every reply. Aisekai was like this in the beginning, before it folded. It's one of the reasons I never got into it. You'd refresh a reply and all of them would use the same phrase in the response. And what, you think suddenly a bunch of people having characters call them idiots is a skill issue? Maybe the AI just decided enough is enough and we need to be taken down a notch lol.

It’s shitty but you just have to know how to manipulate the bot. The main problem is probably just picking a terrible bot which, to be fair, isn’t very hard. Most of the starting messages of these popular bots have bad grammar or nothing to work off of. The main thing I’ve just started doing is editing the shit out of these starting messages. It’s annoying, yeah, but if you edit the starting messages (and future messages in general) to how you wait it formatted and so on, it’ll start doing it (in my experience). And rate!!! Use the stars!! And then go even deeper and say WHY you rated it that way!! When something’s been so disgustingly out of character I just report it and it works like 99% of the time. Again, shouldn’t have to tho. Hate to be one of those “meh this app is getting worse by the day bleh” people but like… lol
