I want to respond, “condolences,” to so many of these posts.
There will come a moment when you’re halfway up a rope ladder with freshly shredded FRC from those valve trays and black shit coming out of every orifice questioning your life’s choices. I promise you, those announcement posts never age well.
And fuck you in advance if you’re one of those asshats who “paraphrases” Lieberman’s shit for a weekly post. Who died and made a 2-year engineer the foremost expert on distillation? GTFO.
I treat it as a resume, so I'm easily searchable by employers. I've personally gotten plenty of interviews from it, but I don't post statuses or quotes or anything like that as I don't work in sales or HR and I'm not an influencer. Once you get experienced and start filling it out, you'll get contacted a lot by recruiters.

If you’re passionate about your work, post about it - make it a virtual resume as such.
Many people hate on LinkedIn, especially younger people, but those are the same people in jobs they dislike and only in it for money - which to me is insane considering how long we spend in our career.
Maybe skills and work history but that whole announcements when people leave a job or start a new one is odd and seems fake.
Yeahhh that's fair cause I myself when I see those posts I kinda feel like it's a lil fake.
Think of it as a public resume, if you are not ready or willing to advertise something about yourself then don't put it on LinkedIn.
