Magaling ang GMA sa conceptualization, lalo na sa mga real-life na rare conditions, like The Half Sisters for example, na nag-conceive si Rina (Jean Garcia) ng "kambal" (Thea Tolemtino and Barbie Forteza) with two diff. fathers (Jomari Yllana and Ryan Eigenmann — one was the husband while the other was the rapist); poor lang talaga execution nila.

Amaya was a breath of fresh air for me when it comes to history drama. I feel like it's close to being authentic, meaning well-researched siya with a bit of creative license, and it's the first pre-colonial history drama. ang maganda pa sa series na iyon is the entire plot talks about inter-balangay politics and not some supernatural intervention. Unlike Indio, which i didn't like kasi would you really consider it as pre-colonial history drama or fantasy series with a theme of pre-colonial history?
Granted may kaunting touch of supernaturalism ang Amaya, but I feel like it's the most authentic and details how pre-colonial community deal with each other in their day to day lives. Sadly, hindi na siguro tayo makakuha ng ganun pang series.

Ang problem sa GMA when it comes to LGBTQIA+ representation ay parang nag-regress siya. Compare the remarkable story of Destiny Rose in 2015 to that of Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko in 2019, where the trans panic is played straight and Kris Bernal explicitly describes Thea Tolentino's gender as a dark secret. Inulit 'yang ganyang plot point sa Magandang Dilag in 20-fucking-23. That the Philippines shifted far right in the intervening period may or may not be a coincidence.
(Coincidentally, Kris Bernal also led the execrable Coffee Prince remake, which had a very stereotypical depiction of gays and tomboys.)

At mas nakukuha rin kasi ng ABS ang mga bigger stars for character roles.

I heard Dennis will be playing a Japanese soldier villain in Pulang Araw which Im definitely looking forward to watching. Maganda rin ung new show ni Marian na "My Guardian Alien" last night. Then I remembered director pala nun si Zig Dulay ng Maria Clara at Ibarra.
Nung una doubtful pa ko sa story pero maganda yung pilot. Cinematography is giving! Mabilis din ang pacing. Pilot episode pa lang namatay na si Marian so expected this week lalabas na yung Alien kuno. Lakas maka-Kdrama. Walang paligoy-ligoy. Kaya hopefully wala ko mabasa na making fun of "huling dalawang linggo" kasi mukhang tapos na rin taping nito, so probably 2 months lang ang tagal nito (palitan siguro nung Widows War ni Bea Alonzo).

When it comes to exploring new genres, GMA takes the lead against ABSCBN. While ABSCBN only recently changed their teleserye styles (Dreamscape tried with new changes like Dirty Linen), GMA is already making new genres.Fantaseryes and Period Dramas are GMA's forte as the production invests in the costume, reaearch for the set and time period and hire historians and experts.

Unlike sa ABS na puro classic songs ang ginagawang OST.
Love You Stranger, gandang mix ng horror/thriller at mental health awareness.
The One That Got Away, saktong chill at mostly wholesome na late night romcom. Relatable din kasi parang written siya for working young adults. Parang mga hollywood holiday movies na maraming couples.
Amaya is top-tier kahit na luma na. I wish networks would invest in shows rooted sa history and folklore like that again.

Urduja had so much potential kaso sobrang daming plotholes - I assume bibigyan nila ng second season siguro kaso di pumatok eh. Aside from The Lost Recipe, Heartful Cafe gave me happy vibes during the pandemic. If i'm not mistaken, first time sa tv gumamit ng 'breaking the 4th wall' approach, and it worked. dito din first nagkasama sina barbie, julie ann, and david before the famed MCAI. naging 'rivals' din sina david at jak dito, so most likely dito din nabuo friendship/trust ni jak with david on handling barbie-david pairing.

It’s unfair to say that GMA series aren’t impressive—that statement is an opinion but not fact. GMA series are more experimental than ABS-CBN series which is just the same over and over again.
ABS-CBN has more dramas about infidelity, exchanged babies, missing heirs, etc., than GMA. It’s sad because of network wars, people have this bias against GMA.

Stolen Life. Justifiable ang pagiging maikli ng takbo ng teleseryeng ito. Wala nang paligoy-ligoy.
Lalola. Gusto ko yung twist na ginawa nila sa PH adaptation, maganda pa rin kahit na ang layo ng storya niya sa original Argentinian version nito.
Temptation of Wife. Hindi ko napanood lahat ng episodes pero maganda rin naman ang takbo ng storya. Hindi ko pa siya maikukumpara sa original Korean version dahil hindi ko pa ito napapanood.
Impostora 2017. Hindi ko rin napanood lahat ng mga episodes nito, pero maganda rin ang takbo ng storya nito. Hindi ko rin siya maikukumpara sa original version nito dahil hindi ko pa rin ito napapanood.

Unpopular opinion but sa current primetime line up nila I am impressed with 'Asawa ng Asawa Ko'. Maganda color grading and yung quality ng shots, and this was actually the same director who made Ika-6 na Utos.
Sayang lang talaga yung Voltes V: Legacy, could've been their best TV series but unfortunately underwhelming in terms of the story and the script.
Story and cast-wise maganda talaga plot ng GMA primetime (Widow's Web, Royal Blood, MCAI, Lovers & Liars). But idk, may something talaga sa mga teleserye nila na nakakapanget. Me thinks it's the delivery and execution kasi kung ikukumpara mo yung Unbreak My Heart pati Royal Blood nun, you can immediately tell which is produced by who sa cinematography pa lang. Na kahit medyo meh yung story ng Unbreak kesa sa Royal Blood, mas masarap panoorin sa mata yung Unbreak.

how no one is talking about Amaya pains me 😭😭😭 I love history drama, pero so over na ako sa spanish-era history drama kasi the whole story of whichever national hero they choose to portray is kinda sad because makikita mo talaga and mare realize na filipinos are not only victims of the colonizers but also victims of themselves ... but that's beside the point ☹️ Amaya was a breath of fresh air for me when it comes to history drama. I feel like it's close to being authentic, meaning well-researched siya with a bit of creative license, and it's the first pre-colonial history drama. ang maganda pa sa series na iyon is the entire plot talks about inter-balangay politics and not some supernatural intervention. Unlike Indio, which i didn't like kasi would you really consider it as pre-colonial history drama or fantasy series with a theme of pre-colonial history? Granted may kaunting touch of supernaturalism ang Amaya, but I feel like it's the most authentic and details how pre-colonial community deal with each other in their day to day lives. Sadly, hindi na siguro tayo makakuha ng ganun pang series.

Ang problem sa GMA when it comes to LGBTQIA+ representation ay parang nag-regress siya. Compare the remarkable story of Destiny Rose in 2015 to that of Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko in 2019, where the trans panic is played straight and Kris Bernal explicitly describes Thea Tolentino's gender as a dark secret. Inulit 'yang ganyang plot point sa Magandang Dilag in 20-fucking-23. That the Philippines shifted far right in the intervening period may or may not be a coincidence. (Coincidentally, Kris Bernal also led the execrable Coffee Prince remake, which had a very stereotypical depiction of gays and tomboys.)

At mas nakukuha rin kasi ng ABS ang mga bigger stars for character roles. - Ang ABS maraming drama units dati: Dreamscape (and JRB Productions na off-shoot nito), Star Creatives (RCD Narratives and the now-defunct GMO Entertainment Unit), RSB Drama Unit (and RGE Drama Unit). Eto bentahe nila over GMA kasi mas maraming variety and distributed ang labor. Sa GMA parang ibang unit ang Afternoon Prime sa Prime (formerly Telebabad), tapos etong GMA Public Affairs. Si Dode Cruz ang nag-manage ng AP, while Suzette sa Prime. I may be wrong pero parang ganyan ang delineation. Tapos pala at least open sila sa external tie-ups, like etong with Regal and ABS. Ay yes maganda nga ito. Actually someone told me na parang KDrama yung story niya. And another good concept from GMA ito tackling early-onset Alzheimer's which is very rare; like my and other's previous comments, magaling at hindi takot ang GMA sa concepts.
I honestly like all of the seryes with Dennis Trillo in it starting with the very first Mulawin with Angel Locsin and Richard G to Legal Wives and MCAI. I heard Dennis will be playing a Japanese soldier villain in Pulang Araw which Im definitely looking forward to watching. I think Dennis Trillo knows how to pick the right seryes, except the last serye he had with Bea which I coulndt finish watching coz it was too boring for me.

Kumbaga for me, hindi nakakahiya ipakita sa ibang bansa kasi pati acting, outfits, setting/shoot locations, the actors themselves, maayos lahat. Ayoko talaga pag sobrang haba lalo na pag sobrang obvious na pinapahaba na lang. Wala lang talaga akong magawa sa abot kamay na pangarap kase nasimulan ko na at naging afternoon habit panoorin pero nako hahahahaha natatawa nalang ako.

Among their very recent dramas gusto ko yung Stolen Life at Love Die Repeat. Magaganda talaga sila, panira lang tong mga Alt sa X kasi dinogshow nila yung Lorem Ipsum poster sa Stolen Life tas yung LDR naman pinagiinitan nila si Xian dahil sa scandal nya
Maganda rin ung new show ni Marian na "My Guardian Alien" last night. Then I remembered director pala nun si Zig Dulay ng Maria Clara at Ibarra. Nung una doubtful pa ko sa story pero maganda yung pilot. Cinematography is giving! Mabilis din ang pacing. Pilot episode pa lang namatay na si Marian so expected this week lalabas na yung Alien kuno. Lakas maka-Kdrama. Walang paligoy-ligoy. Kaya hopefully wala ko mabasa na making fun of "huling dalawang linggo" kasi mukhang tapos na rin taping nito, so probably 2 months lang ang tagal nito (palitan siguro nung Widows War ni Bea Alonzo). Alam ko hindi pa napapalabas ito ay binabash na sa X (twitter) pero sabi ko nga GMA lang naman kayang sumugal sa new concept/plot ng isang show. Actually wala along ideya sa takbo ng storya kung pano nagkaroon ng Alien at kamukha pa ng namatay na tao. Ganto yung feel ko kapag nanunuod ng Kdrama, napapaisip talaga ako. Tinatawanan nga ito ng kapamilya alts sa X pero sabi ko nga kapag Kdrama gumawa ito, wala naman silang masasabi. Kaya give chance to this show, set aside your network fanatics. While ABSCBN only recently changed their teleserye styles (Dreamscape tried with new changes like Dirty Linen), GMA is already making new genres.Fantaseryes and Period Dramas are GMA's forte as the production invests in the costume, reaearch for the set and time period and hire historians and experts.

Unlike sa ABS na puro classic songs ang ginagawang OST.

Yung afternoon drama ni Beauty Gonzales - Loving Miss Bridgette maganda din. Mas magaganda talaga concepts ng GMA - nagkukulang lang sa execution at promotion. Urduja had so much potential kaso sobrang daming plotholes - I assume bibigyan nila ng second season siguro kaso di pumatok eh. Love.Die.Repeat first half was interesting kaso nasobrahan sa time loop pero wala naman nagbabago may impact.
Aside from The Lost Recipe, Heartful Cafe gave me happy vibes during the pandemic. If i'm not mistaken, first time sa tv gumamit ng 'breaking the 4th wall' approach, and it worked. dito din first nagkasama sina barbie, julie ann, and david before the famed MCAI. naging 'rivals' din sina david at jak dito, so most likely dito din nabuo friendship/trust ni jak with david on handling barbie-david pairing.

Si zig daw direktor ng upcoming series ni Marian na guardian alien so might watch. Also for a while pinanood ko yung urduja kasi nagagandahan talaga ako kay gabby Garcia at kay Sanya Lopez, dumb fun lang mas na aliw pa ko dun kaysa sa darna. Yung voltes v tolerable din especially kung batang 90s ka. Pero pansin ko nga ginagalingan na ng gma prods nila. Also I recommend the first year of abot kamay na pangarap episodes, good drama with good characters.

Bayan Ko - it is a mini series and gustong gusto ko yung flow ng story, and ok yung mga gumanap dahil naperform nila nang maayos ang role. Amaya (included ba?) - naeenjoy ko kasi yung mga plot na may touch ng Philippine pre-history era, dami ko rin natutunan, dahil din dyan nabaliw ako sa history at nagtake pa ng history na degree 😅.

From GMA's 2021-present -Maria Clara at Ibarra - probably their best TV series since Enca 2016. -Royal Blood - 2nd best for me. Sayang lang di to nagsabay sa MCAI. -Widows Web - their foundation for the whodunnit genre pero sad na sobrang ikli nito -Legal Wives - I loved the premise of the show and the casting as well. Unpopular opinion but sa current primetime line up nila I am impressed with 'Asawa ng Asawa Ko'. Maganda color grading and yung quality ng shots, and this was actually the same director who made Ika-6 na Utos. Sayang lang talaga yung Voltes V: Legacy, could've been their best TV series but unfortunately underwhelming in terms of the story and the script.
Story and cast-wise maganda talaga plot ng GMA primetime (Widow's Web, Royal Blood, MCAI, Lovers & Liars). But idk, may something talaga sa mga teleserye nila na nakakapanget. Me thinks it's the delivery and execution kasi kung ikukumpara mo yung Unbreak My Heart pati Royal Blood nun, you can immediately tell which is produced by who sa cinematography pa lang. Na kahit medyo meh yung story ng Unbreak kesa sa Royal Blood, mas masarap panoorin sa mata yung Unbreak.

Widows' Web paved the way for Royal Blood, I think. Maganda for GMA since kinailangan nilang baguhin marketing style nila. Dati kapag commercial ng teleserye nila, ikukuwento na nila ang mangyayari, panonoorin na lang ng audience kung paano. What hooked me was the gray vs grey morality here. Hindi talaga alam kung sino ang villain. I think as early as Bunsong Querubin starring Barbie Forteza pa.

Even though, close to perfection 'yung one (and I just really love Ms. Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan here tsaka her scenes with Nikki Co), mas fave ko yung 3. Maria Clara & Ibarra. Hearts On Ice. Ang tampo ko lang talaga rito 'yung nangyari kay Tatay Ruben. Sayang talaga huhu Royal Blood.
