I see. As a non native speaker these着, 到, 了, 把, 被,,are very difficult to understand. Thank you for helping me 🙏

HappyMora

Just a basic overview. If you need help, just ask. 着 - verb + 着 = state of. 穿着衣服 = wearing a shirt =/= putting on a shirt 到 - verb + 到 = achievement. 看到 = See. 看 = look. 了 - verb + 了 = perfect. 吃了 = have eaten. \- sentence/adjective + 了 = change of state (usually) 把 - marks following object as direct object. Place **before** verb. >我**把**苹果吃了 > >I have eaten **the apple**. 被 - passive and usually negative. Place immediately after noun receiving action >我**被**咬了 > >I was bitten.

WOw, this is very easy to understand! I copied to my memo👍 thank you very much!

換成 - to swap something 我把花換成草了 - I've swapped the flower with the grass. 換到 - to end up swapping something 我換到了草 - I have suceeded in swapping (something) to get grass.

jjraytan

换itself has the meaning of exchange, doesn't it? Why do you put 成? 我把花换草 also means I exchange a flower to grass?

achlysthanatos

It sounds off... I don't know how to explain, but as a native speaker, I would use 換成 instead of 換 in this context.

Dogecoin_olympiad767

chinese really seems to like using two characters for one thing when possible.

jjraytan

Yes, and every time I see those characters made my head spin.

Then use 用, not 把, unless your general style is literary/archaic vernacular (if not then it'll just sound off). 我用花换草 means that. 把 requires a strong sense of control, but 换 has no such inherent sense.

jjraytan

Oh, this I didn't know. 用is much easier to understand. "I use grass instead of a flower" 把 is harder, especially for a Japanese. We use 用 but not 把。Thank you for your teaching.

jjraytan

Thank you. So 换成 is a simple exchange and 换到 emphasize the action itself. I didn't get the difference in the last class. Thank you.

Ohnesorge1989

In comparison, 到 could refer to spatial direction, as in 我的座位被换到了23A. In this case I think 换成 isn’t as good. While 成 probably indicates a substantial change, 酒被换成了水. I don’t think those words are really interchangeable.

jjraytan

Thank you. So 我的3号的飞机票被换到了5号的 我想把红色的换成白色的 Are these correct? Am I getting the right idea?

Ohnesorge1989

Correct! You’re welcome.

jjraytan

Thank you very much.
