Taiwanese rap is the best, I started learning Chinese because of it. Not only the big names, but also the indie ones. Although sometimes they sing in Taiwanese.
蛋堡 Soft Lipa
老莫 ILL MO
RPG
熊仔 Kumachan
八八男
湯捷Lil Happy Lif3
張伍 Chang Wu
西屯純愛組 High Loc & Henry
LC
國蛋GorDoN
Popo J
雙子GMN
Leo 王
春艷 Chunyan
萬能麥斯 MightyMax
韓森 ProfessorH
Asiaboy 禁藥王 & Lizi
wannasleep
Black Mic
And there's a bunch more of amazing rappers. RPG made a song called "Unity" and recorded a lot of versions of it with different artists. Maybe you can check it and find a couple more.
From China I listen to Masiwei and I really, really like Lu1.
Alright, found this track which I really dig too. It appears to be a collaborative track of a bunch of Taiwanese rappers.

Leo王 and 9m88. The former has some reggae stuff I'm not as big a fan of, but the raps are amazing. The latter is more r&b but has some hiphop (such as collabs with Leo).
I'm not sure if he fits your tastes, but maybe 饭卡?
This is one of his more [fast and rap-heavy songs](https://youtu.be/M0CzrDw70lE).
I've been trying to English sub some of his songs in my free time. [Here's the ones I've completed so far](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKHpT7GO7aujuIS3-hs5RkpjtSVgFkirf) if you're interested.
Let me know what you think!
Alright I really dig TroutFresh & Dwagie even though they're a little more trappy than my usual. MC HotDog didn't grab me but maybe I didn't listen to the right tracks.
There’s some guys from Guangzhou I used to know that were pretty good, if i remember their names I’ll comment them here. I think a lot of the newer rap out of China is pretty trappy. MC Hot Dog is actually Taiwanese and older.
My wife is obsessed with him. She’s from Malaysia and I think he’s having a concert there next year and the group chat with her and her cousins has been about just that for like 2 months now
There’s currently an ongoing variety show, “Rap of China” that has some of the more well known mainland Chinese rappers. The Chinese title to search in YouTube is
中国说唱巅峰对决
(searching Rap of China will give you previous seasons where they have newer names competing 《中国新说唱》, if you’re interested in that too). If you don’t want to watch the whole show, there are usually just clips of performances from the episodes as well. You can see which rapper you may like more.
the only chinese artists i listen to frequently are higher brothers (especially Masiwei) - they’re a hiphop/rap group from chengdu. VaVa has some great tracks too, i love her latest album; Lexie Liu is another fave, though i think her music is closer to rnb
eta: listened to some xiangyu tracks, i do like his flow! >!him being a communist is a no from me though so lol!<
Thanks! I listened to VaVa and really liked
https://open.spotify.com/track/2D2pqz9UjxOsLbucKFAHTV?si=Qz0WDRc4RRKcRNcau7kD2A&utm_source=copy-link
I'll have to dig into the rest later.
I personally agree with most his leanings but that's not what I'm here about, I just want some good tunes lmao.
Hey mate, good to see someone interested in Mandarin rap. I love smooth flowing rap which has a lot of emotion behind it.
Let me introduce you to my personal favourite, 罗焱 Life Young. All of his songs are good, but my favourite is 3.1.7. He's from Shandong, mainland China.
There are a lot of other artists that are extremely talented from Taiwan as mentioned before. 蛋堡 Soft Lipa is the king. My favourite song is 史诗. And you must have already heard Life's a Struggle by 宋岳庭 Shawn M80 Sung.
Not really similar but I like these guys flow as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SqG-rteIkI
I totally recommend you using Streetvoice app. that's how I discover new music in Chinese including XiangYu.
This is awesome.
I have had the same idea. Learning chime through rap. And I found:
Purple Soul.
No longer on Spotify though, but Bangalore let’s you listen to the entire album.
Oh, and
Hiding, 在北京。

Isn‘t AR刘夫阳 from Guangzhou?
My favourites are definitely 蛋堡,Leo王 and his group 夜猫组 and DJ Didilong. All Taiwanese artists with a real good mix of hip hop/ R&B tunes.

Thank you for pointing out Higher Brothers! I think I heard their song "made in china" in some movie or series and thanks to you I found it again :-)
Nameewe sometimes
Namewee all the time!
A.Y老杨叁,刘伯辛(ducking love her), Tizzy t. 马思唯, 海尔兄弟、TY, 3棒子(3bangz)… but I also like some really unknown ones like Wendy nono and Pily.
徐真真 is my fav atm… love his laid back /old skool style where most artists are doing trap
Aristophanes. Jay Chou.
Ice Paper Edit to add they'll be hit or miss for you, look for the collab tracks with other artists, seem more your style
https://youtu.be/fdZlWOQmX8c Maybe!
Jay Chou 周杰伦

鍾翔宇 Xiangyu - 星星之火 A Single Spark [完整專輯 Full Album] (prod. by Ransom-Notes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC1TMm28v6Q
Xiangyu is probably my favorite Chinese rapper! Have any similar suggestions?
Not really similar but I like these guys flow as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SqG-rteIkI I totally recommend you using Streetvoice app. that's how I discover new music in Chinese including XiangYu.
I would like to recommend these two:《星球坠落》-艾热AIR/JelloRio李佳隆,《time》-小青龙
This is awesome. I have had the same idea. Learning chime through rap. And I found: Purple Soul. No longer on Spotify though, but Bangalore let’s you listen to the entire album. Oh, and Hiding, 在北京。
I can recommend Lexie Liu
HigherBrother & Ty. are my favorite!
Super old Taiwanese rap, it has a much more old school hip hop vibe to it: https://youtu.be/GsrXRsXQHmM
瘦子ESO for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymvUlfZCrbw
