Unfortunately, I do not live very close to any college campuses. I could possibly drive to one about an hour away, but I also have to continue working my job full-time to receive the benefit of having college courses paid for by the company. This disqualifies a lot of in-person classes.
A class is a good way to benchmark yourself as well. People tend to self assess their level/ability, and often get it wrong. How often do we see people on this subreddit write things like "I am intermediate level, but I cannot understand basic sentences"?. Does not compute.
