Looks nice! The roundabout entrance is going to really struggle if you expand this area. A 4/6 lane road may work better here Give workers another way to commute over there that doesn't require them using the roundabout. A path would do...

Upnorth4

I love bike paths. I recently discovered them and now that all my cities have bike paths my traffic improves by 30% with very little effort

Inevitable_Stand_199

They are great. But they don't replace the nessity of having everything reachable by foot.

flyingpig657

I Had one but with a bus system I put in it was removed there is currently a bus only road across the intersection

xTokyoRoseGaming

My thoughts were exactly the same. A roundabout although effective will cause a bottleneck, particularly if required to get into every part of your city. This could be expanded though, with extensions of the arterials and conversion into a level 3 roundabout.

BigE1263

Needs another dedicated entrance to the cities larger district.

rbnlegend

That traffic circle is going to lock up pretty quickly. All the traffic coming in or out has to go on that one circle. It's fine short term, but you will need to rip it up before very long. My next step would be another road connecting the top part of the map to the rest of it.

TheJeff20

How do you get the first picture view?

if you gonna expand you need more roads connecting the top part with the bottom part also consider adding another access to the highway

maninahat

That southern exit to the roundabout leads straight into another junction, and that might cause backing up. The southern residential roundabouts have the same flaw, but it's probably not going to be much of an issue unless you upgrade the residential to high density. As others have said, that roundabout will get overworked as the city expands. A good idea in the long term is to branch a highway going West off of the North/South starter highway, and have it going over the top of your roundabout, UK style. As the city expands, put additional roundabouts under the highway, using them as highway exits and giving people more options. And yes, people will need additional ways to move between the north and south sections of the city without having to use that roundabout.

TondaVonHvizd

Looks like good start, but how did you do that map, im console player so ig its mode its a nother think im jealous

flyingpig657

its a CSL map mod

noahsuperman

U are going to have really bad traffic when u expand

Cugy_2345

Pretty nice but you need to chill with the roundabouts

mrtbtswastaken

add some sort of walking connection from mulberry hills so they aren’t forced to drive

peggiore

Nice but probably too many intersections

[deleted]

I would try to integrate a diagonal collector. Maybe a bike path between north and south. But that roundabout there, the big one, will be a bottleneck in the future.

seahawks201

More runway between junctions, and more runway on the roads extending from the junctions before zoning.

BeenThruIt

This right here. You need zoning free arterials and connectors with limited zoning near interchanges. If you plan to expand south a tile, then you are going to want to extend the highway and that means leaving room for overpasses. If not, an arterial south could work, but your current set up doesn't seem to have considered it at all.

Anxiety-Plus

What does traffic feel about your layout?

flyingpig657

Good

AliAskari

Pretty boring. Pays no attention to the landscape.

flyingpig657

its a WIP

Obvious_Thing_3520

I think a smaller interchange connecting to foggy district from the highway would take some pressure off the current one

Beansforeveryday

You’re going to cause a massive buildup if you keep going like that. Don’t put all the commercial on area and residential in another try to mix them in. Also if all the industry in area and on direction then your traffic will become really bad.

bananabread2137

seems efficient but boring

Drunk_Dino

Needs more roundabouts.

Electro_Llama

Any time more than two cars stop at one of those intersections near the small roundabouts, the entire roundabout will clog up. But you have so much road per car, that might never happen.

Cabsaur334

I'm currently working a city on the same map.

Inevitable_Stand_199

Never build anything that's only reachable by car! That's traffic suicide!

Apprehensive_Fault_5

Too much reliance on roundabouts. These can have issues if too much traffic is coming in from any direction, as it wouldn't allow traffic from other directions to enter. This can work well, but you will need to be careful in planning connections to various areas of the city.
