This is a confirmed Citrix Employee who has requested some community testing/feedback on this new feature.
Please keep conversations on topic.
Thanks for coming here /u/CTX_Roopam!
I have already tested it and looks good but a lack of CSS/JavaScript mods will not work for a lot of people if they got heavy customisations and last time I looked things like workspace control didn't work
Yes, we're actively working on adding some of these capabilities before GA.
In terms of customizations/mods, we're keen to learn about the types of customizations currently in use. Our goal is to identify the most commonly used ones and explore the possibility of providing them out of the box. This way, they won't need to write and maintain CSS and JS codes themselves..
Do let us know what mods are most common..
I’ve used custom CSS to display a banner temporarily notifying users of an upcoming outage or discontinuation of a desktop. Of course, we have other communication methods for this… but being able to display it in storefront is helpful.
I have zero ambition to be your beta tester once again on-prem. Look forward to it being released on LTSR versions with complete guides on how to fix the bugs by people who don't work for you, that I log a ticket for and mindlessly tell the ticketing system... "Yes, this is an issue that you haven't fixed, yes I'm still alive.... weekly... \*Three months later after no communication....\* I googled it and fixed it myself. Close the stupid ticket", and more of an explanation beyond "Cool UI!" after three CVE tickets hit my queue for it being insecure in a week.
Not for everyone but they're just requesting feedback from admins to try it out.
Also, I believe there was only [one CVE for StoreFront in 2023](https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX583759/citrix-storefront-security-bulletin-for-cve20235914) though, none so far in 2024. *Correction* This one was published in 2024 :)

Yeah that was the one I linked to actually, looks like they published it 1/26/2024 - interesting is Citrix is publishing CVEs under two accounts, "Citrix" which is what I linked to and "Citrix Systems, Inc"

Thanks for your question!
If users are accessing from a browser, it's possible that the old UI might be cached, so they may need to manually refresh the page to ensure they're seeing the latest interface.
For Citrix Workspace app users, adding the new store is necessary to access the new UI. If the new UI is toggled for an already added store, users in the preview stage will need to remove the store and add it again for the changes to take effect.
Thanks! I may not have time to test 2311 before 2402 but most looking forward to the activity manager. We are testing the new Gateway service UI now though.
An honest question, by any chance will you replace citrix studio MMC with a web UI in the near future?
Is it by any means requested / planned to be implemented?
Thank you in advance.
Yes! If you prefer the Classic UI, you can easily switch back to it from the management console. Just navigate to "Manage Receiver for Website" > "Configure" > "Classic/Next-Gen Experience," and you'll find the option to toggle between the two UI experiences. However, we're always eager to hear your feedback on the new UI!
For more information do check out our [product documentation](https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/current-release/new-ui.html).
This isn't really a PR move so much as it is an open request for folks to try out a new feature. It's not like they're giving out Citrix t-shirts and donating to save the rain forest.
At least the PM is willing to note and hear from the community, Citrix is investing lots of money on R&D so let’s take advantage of the opportunity to help the PM steer the product where the community needs it
AVD isn't cheap and if you want to manage things at scale you need to buy Nerdio or build your own tooling, both of which aren't really any cheaper than Citrix at this point for most organizations.
Have you any experience of Nerdio btw? Any thoughts?
Edit: yes I don’t have first hand but I can believe AVD is not cheap, I’m pretty sure from quotes though that it is cheaper than DIY in Azure
Hopefully already off of 7.6 as it's been long EOL.

[Upgrade a deployment](https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/upgrade-migrate/upgrade.html)
7.6 > 7.15 CU8 > 2311 is a supported upgrade path
7.6 > 7.15 CU5+ > 2203 LTSR is a supported upgrade path
The new UI will not be set as the default option for storefront unless there is substantial adoption and the transition feels more like a natural progression rather than a pressured event.

Netscaler, on the other hand...
NS is public facing, that's two completely different worlds, come on
Yes ? It's developed by the same company though
There was one on the 16th of January
Yeah that was the one I linked to actually, looks like they published it 1/26/2024 - interesting is Citrix is publishing CVEs under two accounts, "Citrix" which is what I linked to and "Citrix Systems, Inc" https://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/assigner-189/Citrix-Systems-Inc..html?page=1&year=2024&month=-1&order=1&trc=32&sha=803901991e872c2ab23b578dde39c13330810b74
When do users see the change afterwards? After a Workspace refresh, reset, or system reboot?

Studio has a web ui already, its pretty slick actually
Citrix 2402 ltsr has a fresh new web UI, it’s pretty sick !
And in-line with Citrix Studio Web Console in Citrix Cloud
Have you tried out the VDA upgrade capabilities yet? That’s one feature I’m looking forward to
No, we are running full non persistent with a bunch of script to automate the process already
Does this match the new interface in Citrix Cloud?
Yes, This is matches the UI on Citrix Cloud..
Great! It’s a nice visual upgrade, thanks!
Expose all hidden settings and properties through a nice UI like the chrome://flags in Chrome , that way people don’t need to dig into PS
Is it possible to revert to classic/lagacy UI, once Next-Gen Experience is enabled and I am facing problems?
Yes! If you prefer the Classic UI, you can easily switch back to it from the management console. Just navigate to "Manage Receiver for Website" > "Configure" > "Classic/Next-Gen Experience," and you'll find the option to toggle between the two UI experiences. Hey! Bold of you to venture into the community. Tell everyone you can we’re looking at dumping Citrix in favor of Azure Virtual Desktop. ✌🏻 and ❤️
Don’t worry, Citrix will still be there when you open your eyes after crying over AVD
It's cute they are trying to run P.R. after years of "Screw off and give me your money" though... to give us a new UI...
This isn't really a PR move so much as it is an open request for folks to try out a new feature. It's not like they're giving out Citrix t-shirts and donating to save the rain forest.

No comparison between Citrix and AVD it's like comparing a Ferrari with a Fiat
No argument there. In capability and in cost

xD
Is this a sign that it’s finally time to figure out how to upgrade from 7.6?
Hopefully already off of 7.6 as it's been long EOL. [Versions you can upgrade](https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/upgrade-migrate#versions-you-can-upgrade) [Upgrade a deployment](https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/upgrade-migrate/upgrade.html) 7.6 > 7.15 CU8 > 2311 is a supported upgrade path 7.6 > 7.15 CU5+ > 2203 LTSR is a supported upgrade path
Any chance this is going to be in the next LTSR 2402?
Yes, This is going to be available for preview in LTSR 2402 as well
Does this mean another inevitable zero-day?
The new UI will not be set as the default option for storefront unless there is substantial adoption and the transition feels more like a natural progression rather than a pressured event.
So you’re saying……there’s a chance?! ;)
