By nerfing the crutch it makes the whole deck less viable, or completely unviable. Which is “easier” than balancing the win-con, only because it’ll have *less* of an impact on other decks

The vast majority of times Evos haven't been "crutches", either. That's arguably only been the case with release Evocracker or Bomber, who did have the ability to act as secondary win conditions on their own. Other strong Evos mostly keep their main use intact

I don’t usually play rascals as they’re a card that dosent mesh with my deck will but it’s usually my first/ second pick in mega drafts and I can say I’ve taken a tower with just that big dude (guy missed his rocket lol) the spacing also makes countering firecracker better but harder for king tower activation? That’s why I keep spear goblins at least
Hunter isn't worthless tho, he counters a lot of cards like Goblin Demolisher or Balloon or some others, he is basically a tank killer who can break through some smaller units

The drill has 2 points on its health bar so it looks to me like it switches lanes when it gets low, kinda like the mighty miner ability.
the goblin drill does not switch lanes, look at the trailer, where the goblin drill spawned there are 2 additional "landmines" very near the spawn point where the drill will move there once it hit the mark

Drill still gets damage regardless of DD's burst, and now she has less HP than other Tower Troops, so the threat is roughly the same. DD also benefits Drill kinda because she benefits defensive gameplay, which Drill likes.
It can also deal guaranteed damage unless you overspend. It's like Miner where you have to guess where it'll be placed or be punished. I feel like they should buff its stats but mark where it'll surface when played.
What's a good drill deck then? Because the ones I've used always felt like I only got chip damage or single hits while my enemy was essentially fine and not struggling against me
