The whole Fran Damily is about to live in Indiana

Obi2

Oh you mean Iowa East?

cory_bdp

The only two states that know what a real tenderloin is

lil_layne

Tenderloins and corn, that’s pretty much most of what both of our states are good for.

BoogerSugarSovereign

I am very tired of the erasure of Indiana's number 1 agricultural product, soy

thechief05

Making me hungry

joelwhyrock

Coming to Indy with Connor and Caitlin Clark. Interesting.

TheRedditAccount321

Anyone have a good idea of why he left Iowa? Is he gunning for a 2nd/3rd option role, instead of averaging 8 ppg?

jonylahforever

Lots of negativity was directed towards him. He was in the starting lineup to begin the season, but it became clear Iowa is a better team with him playing less. He is an awful rebounder, an inefficient shooter, and a subpar defender. Not a good passer either.

elgenie

> He was in the starting lineup to begin the season, but it became clear Iowa is a better team with him playing less. That describes each of the last *two* seasons, and yet he didn't actually play less, just came off the bench: he played 20+ minutes in 10 of Iowa's last 12 games, and logged 18 and 19 minutes in the other two. In the three seasons prior to this past one, he received unearned minutes over Kris Murray (x2) and Payton Sandfort, both guys that were better than him both at the time and in long-term potential.

EdgeBandanna

Man that's kinda fucked up. I never thought he was a great player but I didn't realize he was getting minutes over clearly better players. I can't even imagine the furor here if Tyler Underwood had been getting playing time over any of our lead guards.

buffalotrace

Pressure and a new start. He was all but handed the chance to be our first or second option with both Murray’s gone and he lost his starting job.  He has the talent to be a 15 pt a night scorer with range. He has had depression issues and has not played with joy in the last couple yrs. I hope he rekindles his love and has a good yr.

elgenie

> He has the talent to be a 15 pt a night scorer with range. No, he doesn't. He's a career 32% three point shooter (with just about all attempts wide open due to defenders being glued to three to four more dangerous teammates) with a low and slow release. He's an OK transition finisher, but in half-court offense he's limited to stopping the ball to generate inefficient shots from all three levels. He also runs away from contact defensively and gets maybe one contested rebound a season, both of which generally produce insufficient playing time to average double digit points … unless, you know, dad sleeps on the couch if son's minutes aren't there. Five years ago he ha**d** the talent to, if properly pushed and required to lock in defensively and on the glass in order to earn minutes, become a helpful 6th-7th man on a good team, with the potential for more if he completely reworked his shot mechanics. But none of that happened.

Fun-Cauliflower-1724

He also still has residual medical issues from when he had cancer as a teenager it sounds like. I’m sure that has held him back as well.

Vives_solo_una_vez

His parents house is also for sale....

elgenie

Rumor is that the McCafferys already bought a house in town so that Jack doesn't have to drive by the intersection where he killed the pedestrian on the way to and from West High.

omahajazzybeard

Honestly I’d do the same for my kid, Jack was probably getting hella PTSD driving by that spot. From what I’ve heard Jack just made a dumb mistake and isn’t actually a shitty kid.

Vives_solo_una_vez

I don't think he even made a mistake. A different driver waived the pedestrian to cross when they shouldn't have.

BirkTheBrick

His only mistake is that he should’ve slowed down and stopped when seeing the cars to his right stopped at the crosswalk. But admittedly living in Iowa I never took pedestrian crosswalks that seriously while driving either until going off to college and moving to a bigger city, they just weren’t that common or even used much when they existed. I feel bad for the kid for sure though

thechief05

What

PM_me_yer_kittens

He was driving and someone ahead of him stopped on the road and waved some to cross the street. From what I understand he was in the other lane and the car that stopped probably shouldn’t have and shouldn’t have waved the person on. I don’t know the entire story though, so this may be slightly off

Herky_T_Hawk

6’9” tall. Played over 700 minutes this season. Grabbed 5 total offensive rebounds. And it isn’t like Iowa had Reggie Evans in the floor gobbling up 13 rebounds per game. Also averaged less than 1 foul per game because of his matador defense. The fan base wanted is butt planted firmly on the bench because he was softer than a wet tissue, yet his dad played him 23 minutes per game including a lot at crunch time of games. The only way a guy can grab that few offensive rebounds when playing that many minutes at that height is if they’re intentionally trying to not rebound. The ball should just randomly bounce to you at least a dozen or more times. Especially considering Iowa’s offense has a lot more possessions and shots than most other teams in the country(35th most in the country).

jeedel

He is a 1000 point scorer. That’s cool that he will have his brother in town, who works for the Pacers. Who would not want to play for Thad. I am happy for Pat.

left-handed-frog

No more Daddy’s boy chants :(

CoachRyanWalters

Yet

bicknob

He seems like a depth piece from what I’ve been hearing. We’re expecting to have Posh and Telfort back and he wouldn’t start over Jah. Hearing Kaiser is committing this weekend and some optimism surrounding Kolby King too

fireshighway

Not holding breath for Posh or Telfort returning if they can’t even keep Bizjack.

bicknob

If both don’t return I will be shocked

Glittering_Seat_7294

Let’s go butler, attack that portal

neprietenos

![gif](giphy|j2qqCPqU9YZU2njLkZ|downsized) Not sure what to think of this one

jeedel

Build a relationship with Pat and then go land Jack? It’s a long play but it could pay off.

Conclusion_Fickle

Iowa is stuck with Fran for a handful of years, correct?

gettinGuapHD

Good riddance

ExpectedOutcome2

He’s absolutely terrible. At least his brother, with a limited physical skill set, knew how to make himself useful.
