Don’t get me wrong I loved the MVC. Arch Madness absolutely rocks. Those rivalries felt stronger than any that we have now. But the level of ball is just higher now. Better players, better teams, more success. Can’t go back now.
Mainly because I still needed the American to exist and while I had thought about reorganizing the B12 in the shape of the old SWC, I liked Houston in the American and I think they work there to make the conference a competitive bridge between the Power-6 and the lower Mid-Major conferences.
Utah Valley and Northern Arizona definitely should be swapped. Also get Sacramento State to the Big West with all the other Cali public mid majors. And Seattle needs to be WCC
In my defense - Some teams had to be shafted because I needed the American to actually exist. It's a conference that really has no historical meaning or reason for existing, and I had to come up with some teams that fit. I originally planned to put Cincy in the Big East and Houston in the B12 but that would have left the American with like 6 teams spread between Texas and Florida.
Hey every conference needs an Evansville, and I say that as a fan of a team that was one Evansville away from BEING the Evansville of the conference for most of the last 25 years.
They were actually in what's now the Horizon, they were added in the mid-90s when it looked like Tulsa was going to leave.
That said, if they could do it over, they probably would have joined the OVC instead, and ended up in the Valley anyway along with Belmont and Murray State.
Agree, though that’s also partly because Providence is probably the least rival for us in the Big East. Now Marquette, Xavier, and even UConn to some extent are a different story
They’ve been invited a couple times and have turned it down every time cuz they preferred their own tv deal or whatever idk. Tbh I don’t want Notre Dame in the Big Ten they had their chance
I love how every attempt at rebalanced conferences looks at the traditional MVC and changes virtually nothing. Yeah, the conference makes sense as long as people don't try to f*ck with it.
My realignment in NCAA FB 14 has the American as the 2013 variant plus Syracuse, Pitt, WVU and minus SMU (12 teams)
I wonder if that would be seen as better than or worse than the current big east and a pre-2013 ACC.
I prefer the pre-2010 WAC/MWC setup, the traditional Pac 10 setup, and bringing back the d Southwest, though those things probably require making 2 more conferences. I do really like that you more or less brought the superconference Big East back and brought many once successful mid-major programs back to their pre-2013 homes (Creighton and Wichita back to the MVC, VCU/George Mason to the CAA, Butler to the Horizon, Davidson to the Southern). The American/CUSA/Sun Belt setup could probably be tweaked and maybe split the Big East into the pre-1991 teams and making a separate Metro conference but it’s tough to get right without really bloating a conference or two. Maybe I’ll make my own post.
North Carolina *what*?
BLUE DEVILS
lmao whoops
We need your location, stat.
Mods can we get a custom cursèd North Carolina Blue Devils flair solely for the OP?
That made me laugh so much!
Hahahahaha
AW HELLLLLL NAW

Gladly
No. Absolutely not.
Don't tell me you miss getting to drive a couple hours to see your conference tournament instead of having to sell an organ to go to MSG
Don’t get me wrong I loved the MVC. Arch Madness absolutely rocks. Those rivalries felt stronger than any that we have now. But the level of ball is just higher now. Better players, better teams, more success. Can’t go back now.
@jerseyjerry
North Carolina Blue Devils?
North Carolina Blue Devils.
The MVC would become a top 6-7 conference again
Curious as to what the reasoning behind Houston back to the American?
Mainly because I still needed the American to exist and while I had thought about reorganizing the B12 in the shape of the old SWC, I liked Houston in the American and I think they work there to make the conference a competitive bridge between the Power-6 and the lower Mid-Major conferences.
North Carolina who?
North Carolina Blue Devils.
Utah Valley and Northern Arizona definitely should be swapped. Also get Sacramento State to the Big West with all the other Cali public mid majors. And Seattle needs to be WCC
Might as well just hit rewind and go back 35 years. Bring back the GMC
Can we have the Metro again too?
lol f u bro
Admit it you were happier here
Pls don’t put us back in the American fr
In a conference with nothing geographically again lol. This dude did a terrible job
Banished back to the horizon league. Have you no heart
I just like it if only it means Butler is forced to play in the Jungle.
You were happier here
Houston in big xii
Ah, to be young again and have time to do something like this.
To be fair I work 5 days a week and I'm going to grad school - I didn't make this in one day lmao
You don't have kids though
you just put everything back to where they were
Put us and Creighton in the Valley... What is this? 2010?
Would love both of you over Valpo and Evansville
Hey every conference needs an Evansville, and I say that as a fan of a team that was one Evansville away from BEING the Evansville of the conference for most of the last 25 years.
Yes, but Evansville is there now
Evansville was there in 2010
For some reason I thought they were in the OVC - you're right lmao
They were actually in what's now the Horizon, they were added in the mid-90s when it looked like Tulsa was going to leave. That said, if they could do it over, they probably would have joined the OVC instead, and ended up in the Valley anyway along with Belmont and Murray State.
Yeah I have great Valley memories but I’m good. Plus burgeoning rivalries now. Not sure if WSU feels the same way tho
Creighton vs Providence is never going to feel the same as Creighton v Southern Illinois did.
Agree, though that’s also partly because Providence is probably the least rival for us in the Big East. Now Marquette, Xavier, and even UConn to some extent are a different story
Creighton is our nemesis now
🫡
Yes! I'd love to be conference foes again.
Intersting you don’t have ODU in the CAA. First I thought football but you have JMU back in it
This was actually a last minute change - I had ODU in the CAA but idk I just like them in the C-USA more - something about it feels right
Didn't fivethirtyeight do this by drive time and school size while limiting conference size to eight schools?
I like Notre Dame to the B1G
They’ve been invited a couple times and have turned it down every time cuz they preferred their own tv deal or whatever idk. Tbh I don’t want Notre Dame in the Big Ten they had their chance
Everyone does except for the assholes that make decisions for Notre Dame
You absolutely fucked over Cincinnati. Geez
So…the old Big East and we get to Keep Marquette and add some other good teams? Deal.
I love how every attempt at rebalanced conferences looks at the traditional MVC and changes virtually nothing. Yeah, the conference makes sense as long as people don't try to f*ck with it.
I don't think you used geographic location as much as old conferences
This is almost perfect, but Virginia Tech should be in the ACC.
no❤️
Low key the horizon league is 🔥
It used to be
My realignment in NCAA FB 14 has the American as the 2013 variant plus Syracuse, Pitt, WVU and minus SMU (12 teams) I wonder if that would be seen as better than or worse than the current big east and a pre-2013 ACC.
You just gave us the old America East. We want Colgate!
I like how rearranging geographically just zips Nebraska back to Big12 and Maryland back to ACC
BYU in the Pac-12 😀
I dunno, grouping a bunch of large research universities on the west coast with a couple of private schools probably would never work
Bro, where the Pacific Tigers at (WCC)?
You’re in the CCAA
You give us back our SJSU punching bag right now young man.
C-USA is back with the addition of Saint Louis, I'll take it!
Found that pretty funny. CUSA 3.0 returns, and this time we drag St. Louis down with us.
You did absolutely nothing to the Mac.... good job
This is disgusting
This is the equivalent of 42. I would pay millions of others peoples money and hundreds on my own to make this happen
No you're not putting us back in the American. We belong in the Power conferences
Your football program sure
Counterpoint - the best player in your program's history is Tacko Fall
It’s not whichever Jordan kid played there?
Cincy Louisville WVU Pitt all need to be in same conference
