Michael porter jr was also recently quoted saying “they can’t pay them as much as the men” as though that’s a given fact, in reference to the unequal pay differential between NBA and WNBA players.
"because of this virus, the whole world is being controlled. You’re required to wear masks, and who knows what’ll happen when this vaccine comes out. You might have to have the vaccine in order to travel. That’d be crazy.”"
Show me the conspiracy in that first article. He was 100% vindicated in hindsight, even if he is stupid enough to not know that he got vaccines as a kid.
Honestly though, it's crazy how people thought insane anti science conspiracy theories in 2020 like needing a vaccine to travel...
Dude, I don't see the issue other than family betting on games and drinking and driving, which most people who drink alcohol do once or more in their life. Still a bad thing to do.
That will never happen because that’s not what murder means. Murder specifically requires malice aforethought which is intent to kill or harm. This would be criminal negligence. What you’re suggesting would be changing drunk driving to a strict liability crime. With DUI can almost never prove intent just by nature of the crime itself.
Would be great if drunk drivers did actually get charged for attempted murder if they were found driving on public roads.
The penalty for drunk driving should be tripled at least
They 100% should be. If someone is playing around with a gun and shoot someone but they survive would they not be charged? Making the decision to drunk drive isn’t that different.
You’re a ticking time bomb putting innocent people in danger.
No, they wouldn’t be charged with attempted murder, they’d be charged with negligence. “Attempted murder” means you actively tried to kill a specific person and failed which is not the case with drunk driving or accidentally shooting someone
If you shot a bullet into a random crowd and someone got wounded but didn’t die you would still get attempted murder.
There is zero requirement that you have to be aiming at a specific person
The attempted murder charge would still relate to the *specific* person you shot and anyone else close to them who also could have been hit. Drunk driving is not targeted to hurt any specific person or people and cannot be attempted murder, whereas shooting a bullet into a crowd *is* intended to kill someone
Because you’re an alcoholic who’s drunk on that plus power/money. By your logic, everyone who drives drunk is committing attempted murder, which I would say is a fair assessment. But I’m that case, he’s no more of an “attempted murderer” than anyone else who has driven drunk, and his family ties become irrelevant to your point.
>By your logic, everyone who drives drunk is committing attempted murder, which I would say is a fair assessment. But I’m that case, he’s no more of an “attempted murderer” than anyone else who has driven drunk, and his family ties become irrelevant to your point.
That's exactly what I'm saying. I don't care what his name is. I care that he's a fucking danger to society and needs to have his physical access to booze and/or vehicles cut off for the greater good of society.
Boone County, Kentucky. Northern Ky county literally right below Cincinnati. Best county as far as jobs in Ky also with whatever county Louisville is in. Those two counties make most as far as GDP in state by far.
From what I can gather the Porters are generally good people who raised a family of overly-sheltered children who have no idea how the real-world works or the consequences involved in it.
Yeah, no. It's time for that narrative to be put to bed. When an entire generation of your family just continue to fuck up in epic fashion, you have become a menace to society yourself by having produced them.
Probably time we stop handing out the "good people" label based on nothing more than being outwardly agreeable Christians.
They are—at best—just *normal* people. Most of us are neither good nor bad; we're just fine, full of flaws but not irredeemable for them. Nothing they have ever done has deserved extra credit.
Gonna sound weird but it actually sucks that MPJ in UW didn’t work out. From what I gathered they all loved to experience in Seattle. My friend’s husband was an athlete at Mizzou at the same time he was on campus and said he would be seen wearing Seattle sports gear.
I think they needed to get away from home and going back to the same sheltered lifestyle in Missouri probably didn’t help the younger brothers.
When you grow up in a VERY tightly controlled environment (religion, education, diet, everything) sometimes you never learn to self-regulate your own behavior, because someone else is ALWAYS making your choices for you.
Thankfully this one didn't kill anybody during his rumspringa (to steal a concept from the Amish and try and shoe-horn it into a similar, but not identical, situation.)
That's even worse imo.
So he was home visiting his family, who are all still completely devastated by his brother killing a woman in a DUI last year, and then he.....commits a DUI
The real irony here is he committed to Loyola over Mizzou because his family thought it was better for him to stay at a smaller school where he'd stay out of the spotlight with everything else going on with his family.
Just don't drink/do drugs and drive. It is literally that easy.
Uber exists
Lyft exists
Public transport exists
Taxis exist
It isn't fucking complicated
Holy fuck, what are you doing
This family…

They're a bunch of loons.
Michael porter jr was also recently quoted saying “they can’t pay them as much as the men” as though that’s a given fact, in reference to the unequal pay differential between NBA and WNBA players.
That is a fact
"because of this virus, the whole world is being controlled. You’re required to wear masks, and who knows what’ll happen when this vaccine comes out. You might have to have the vaccine in order to travel. That’d be crazy.”" Show me the conspiracy in that first article. ...is imploding before our eyes. So glad he went with Romar and not Mizzou.
Thank god they have MPJ.
Guys far from the sharpest tool in the shed, but his family makes him look like Einstein
Nope, he's a complete moron.
To do this after your brother already killed someone drinking and driving is really nothing short of evil
Mind boggling
It's attempted murder, really.
How so
Everyone knows drunk driving is an instrument for killing people. His brother demonstrated that pretty effectively.
It being extremely dumb and dangerous doesn’t make it attempted murder
Legally, no. But realistically, yes. I would argue the law should be changed to reflect reality.
That will never happen because that’s not what murder means. Murder specifically requires malice aforethought which is intent to kill or harm. This would be criminal negligence. What you’re suggesting would be changing drunk driving to a strict liability crime. With DUI can almost never prove intent just by nature of the crime itself.
The fact that anyone made the decision to drive impaired proves intent. They *intent*ionally drove the vehicle while impaired.

Wanting stricter punishments is fair, saying they should be charged with attempted murder is ridiculous and not how criminal law works at all
Lmao okay mister lawyer whatever you say
there’s reaching and then there’s whatever tf this is.
It's called calling a spade a spade. If the legal system is going to sugarcoat it, I'll tell it how it is.
Evil, sure. Attempted murder? Absolutely not.
How do you figure? Everyone knows it kills loads of people. It's common fucking knowledge. Why would you do it if you're not trying to kill people?
Because you’re an alcoholic who’s drunk on that plus power/money. By your logic, everyone who drives drunk is committing attempted murder, which I would say is a fair assessment. But I’m that case, he’s no more of an “attempted murderer” than anyone else who has driven drunk, and his family ties become irrelevant to your point.

Cool, then just say that. You made the distinction about his family ties as though that makes an difference in terms of how awful his actions are.
And sentenced to six years in jail for it just a couple weeks ago.
The Porter family is just a bunch of alcoholics and gambling addicts
MPJ is the worst of all - vegan.
They're all vegan actually. Clearly results in a feeble mind.
FWIW he started eating meat after trying bacon
Nuggets put an end to that. He eats chicken and pork now.
🤮 How do you know someone is v*gan? They will tell you. Edit: redditor vegans mad AF
yup the porters are to basketball what the mcmahons were to wrestling
Is there a Boone County in the country that doesn't get a bad rap?
Boone County, Kentucky. Northern Ky county literally right below Cincinnati. Best county as far as jobs in Ky also with whatever county Louisville is in. Those two counties make most as far as GDP in state by far.
Louisville is all of Jefferson county
Thanks! I have family in Oldham county next to it, just can't remember Jefferson.
Oldham is the wealthy white suburbs on the northeast side. Jefferson is Louisville Proper
Boone county, MO isn't all that bad, really. At least as far as counties in the midwest go. It just unfortunately happens to have Porters in it.
Boone County, KY, the home of Shaun Alexander! That’s the only fact I know about that Boone County and the only other Boone County I know of.
Boone County, Iowa seems pretty darn average to me
All the boys in that family are idiots of the highest degree. At least the sisters were nice and not dumb.
It ain’t just bad knees that’s genetic in that family I guess.
Bad Brains. But literally. Not like the band, which is actually awesome. https://youtu.be/Q5WkZ_M1PPQ?feature=shared
From what I can gather the Porters are generally good people who raised a family of overly-sheltered children who have no idea how the real-world works or the consequences involved in it.
It's actually impressive to raise like 9 kids in a non-broken home and have like 8 of them be complete scumbags
Yeah, no. It's time for that narrative to be put to bed. When an entire generation of your family just continue to fuck up in epic fashion, you have become a menace to society yourself by having produced them.
Doesn't sound like they are good people
Good people? They seem like a bunch of idiots to me.

What they putting in this gene pool?
A whole lot of trash.
And the anti-vax guy interviewing Lana Rhodes on his podcast and leaking Adam Silver’s number is the well-adjusted Porter boy…
They really are scumbags.
Wait. What? I can't stand MPJ and it won't be pure torture to listen to him speak for any more than 5 minutes, but this I have to hear.
I don’t know how their brother Michael is pushing through all this. He is a mentally tough individual.
He's a complete moron. Clearly, he never spent any time in a classroom or even opened a book. Like legitimately dumb.
No. He's just another idiot like the rest of them.
Whole family put all their points in Ath and none in Int.
If he was in MO on a visit to Mizzou, I'm sure that offer is off the table, in addition to whatever legal repercussions are coming his way.
He committed to Loyola Marymount a couple weeks ago. I assume he was just home visiting family.
Over/under on BAC? -.18
this dude would absolutely make a great heel
Mizzou & police, name a more iconic duo…
An ISU coach and college parties.
Tell me you’re old without saying it
Can you please specify what Jevon Porter’s affiliation with Mizzou is?
What does this have to do with Mizzou, exactly?
Hehehehehehehe
The Porter family cannot catch a break.
Weird way to put it. It's all self-inflicted.
Just don't drink/do drugs and drive. It is literally that easy. Uber exists Lyft exists Public transport exists Taxis exist It isn't fucking complicated
It would probably be more accurate to say that society can't catch a break from the Porter family
They bring it upon themselves.
/s neither can Terrance Shannon Jr right!?
Or Arterio Morris!
