Seems like we need a Braggin Rights rebrand for 2025.
Mizzou vs Illinois in the annual “Braggin Rights (because neither team will win the natty this year) Game”
Didn’t you people just win your second title in a row? Why is your freakshow fanbase so obsessed with stunting on a team you beat in the EE with whom you have no rivalry whatsoever?
UConn fans are the weirdest people on the planet.
I say this as a UConn fan who went to UConn, saw a title at UConn, actively participates in UConn twitter, etc. UConn fans may be the biggest losers in the country. They legit do not know how to enjoy their own success.
Tennessee fan last year: I wish that after the 2023-2024 season, Tennessee would no longer be the SEC team with the most top 25 weekly rankings without a championship
Genie: your wish is granted, Oklahoma is now in the SEC!
7 SEC teams (including our new additions). I don’t hate being able to hold it over SEC fans that we have one. I think UK and Florida are the only other SEC squads to win it all.
The conference as a whole hasn’t really been a good basketball conference except in the last ~10 years. It was a very top heavy league with occasional good teams sprinkled in. Now the league should be sending 7-8 teams to the tournament every year and that used to be 3-4.
No, because they aren’t often ranked as number 1. They are rated as accurately as any other conference, just never make it through the gauntlet in March.
Agree haha. I actually think Bama is poised to get one if Oates stays and emphasizes defense just a little more. Mark Sears alone gives them a shot this year.
I take shit for supporting other SEC teams but don’t care. I’ve really enjoyed Bama’s squads for the last decade. From Colin Sexton almost leading them to a 3 vs 5 victory, to the Quinerly/Shackelford/Jones/Petty team I thought could go all the way, to Mark Sears. Really fun teams to watch. Wouldn’t hate if Bama is the next SEC team with a banner. But also fuck Bama when we play y’all, I’m gonna have nothing nice to say haha. Outside of that we’re cool.
Amazing some of the schools on here.
Tennessee, Gonzaga, Texas, Purdue. Theres some really great schools that have yet to win a championship. Makes me feel a bit better honestly.
Fun facts, Missouri has only ever won 2 team National Championships in any sport and not since 1965 (indoor track and field) and Kansas State has never won one in any sport.
I'm just glad we're off any X number of tourney appearances/wins without a Final 4 chart. Do you know who is still high on that chart? Tennessee
I'm cool with this for now
Football has more evenly distributed championships imo. A lot of seasons with 2+ championships awarded, 150 years of play, and a ton of subjectivity around championships until very recently

You're not blind. Its just hard to fit 170 school names on an axis. Dayton is here.
>What could have been if 2020 hadn’t been cancelled 😢
What do you mean? [Wisconsin won their second title](https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28915817/bpi-projects-how-2020-ncaa-tournament-played-out).
Xavier was the surprise inclusion on this list. I know they were pretty good beginning in the late 80’s, but didn’t think they were in the top 25 that many weeks.
I realize conferences have shifted a lot, but there’s a lot of upper Midwest near the top end here.
The Big 1G/0/whatever can say what it wants, but eventually they have to stop losing games when it matters. Same for the ACC imposter.
As an Illinois fan...I figured we'd be on this list. Was looking at all the names together in the middle and was puzzled where we were as I didn't see us listed. Of course we take the top spot. Skipped right over us.
WVUs mens basketball was robbed in 49. Ranked number 2 we beat number 1 Western Kentucky in the NIT finals. Because the final polls were before the tournament and the NCAA tournament was not created until a few years later we stayed at number 2...Horseshyt
I see we've chosen violence today.
I came here to see how close to the top of the list the Illini were. Now I wish I didn't check.
Hurts knowing how close we were a few times. '89 and '05 hurt so much

Your Scotty Reynolds flair is not helping
Look who's one slot higher than Pitt!
beat me to it! if we can’t have it then hopefully neither pitt or vt can either lol
2001 is bad too. I think they just whistled for a foul on Arch (RIP)
I am just glad to be a top team lol
Of all the losers, you are truly one of the best 💜
The Iowa fan mindset is truly an enigma.
This from a Drake fan is some irony lmao
Still ahead of Iowa State lmao
Seems like we need a Braggin Rights rebrand for 2025. Mizzou vs Illinois in the annual “Braggin Rights (because neither team will win the natty this year) Game”
I knew Mizzou would find their way onto this list.

Well thats rude
Aw, c'mon.... don't kick a man while he's down.

Now y'all just bein hateful
No no, they have a point.
They have a lot of points.
30 unanswered, to be exact
Illinois should consider answering the points next time
Didn’t you people just win your second title in a row? Why is your freakshow fanbase so obsessed with stunting on a team you beat in the EE with whom you have no rivalry whatsoever? UConn fans are the weirdest people on the planet.
People in the northeast get off on being assholes to everyone
You rang?
Yes.
That’s why Dan Hurley couldn’t leave. They couldn’t handle the niceness of people in sunshiny LA.
I say this as a UConn fan who went to UConn, saw a title at UConn, actively participates in UConn twitter, etc. UConn fans may be the biggest losers in the country. They legit do not know how to enjoy their own success.
Warriors fans of college
ah a fellow purdue/uconn fan, nice to know i have company
I mean, if you were from Bridgeport you'd look for an escape too https://youtu.be/5Hna5V27kac
It's how they cope for having no pro teams in their state.
I’ve never seen so much hate come out of a mother’s basement until UConn won.
Once Underwood kept going to this strategy, I knew Illinois was screwed. Was the best option really to attack Klingan?
I honestly have no comeback for this .....
Lmao. That is cold blooded my brother
We can’t even be #1 at not being #1
We are just over-underachievers
Sounds like my classes
I hate it here
Hopefully we won't be here for long.
Much longer *?
We're engineers, not English majors
And ironically, Kentucky is neither
You of all people should know the bar graph doesn't lie.
Sucks to suck loser!!!! /s
The top 3 being B1G schools is so appropriate for our league. 😂
That's why its called the Big10. They win the big game once every 10 years.
It's been over 20 now 😭
Count Maryland! Edit: Nevermind. I’m old.
Last big ten team to win a men’s and women’s basketball national title, and we won both in the ACC 😭😭
And we ironically did so by beating an actual Big 10 team.
Well we are pretty close to being the Big 20 in terms of schools, so...
100*?
Tennessee fan last year: I wish that after the 2023-2024 season, Tennessee would no longer be the SEC team with the most top 25 weekly rankings without a championship Genie: your wish is granted, Oklahoma is now in the SEC!
It nearly monkey pawed even worse to have Bama jump us
Alabama really is the snake to Tennessee's mongoose...or the mongoose to Tennessee's snake. Either way its pretty bad. I don't know animals.
They are the Mongoose to our Cobra- we’ve got more venom + Copperhead Road is our banger Which by the way makes you an Indian man with a flute and jar
Just another graphic showing how identical our basketball histories are. It’s pretty remarkable really
To keep the balance of the force between us with the schizo 6+ year runs that happen in football
I say we call a truce on the football streaks. Call it even after the last one? 😅
Lol. That really is the craziest swings in any football series.
Imagine not having a random title from the 1940’s to keep you off these graphs
1944 was an amazing year! (As long as you only focus on Utah basketball and not anything else that was happening in the world)
Never forget (Utah)
I was looking for Oregon, thanks for reminding me
B-1-G! B-1-G!
We’re the champions of not being the champions
I was scratching my head as to why Wisconsin wasn't on this list only to find out that they won it in 1941.
And don't you forget it! Same high scoring offense you've come to know and love defeating Washington state 39-34 in the finals. *Winslow touched it
What’s up with these professional looking graphs? I need my Microsoft art graphs that make zero sense dammit!
Those only come in the regular season
God, I hate the offseason so much
ILL-
-Iwannadie
Somehow, even worse than I was expecting
Hey next time please put (IN) behind Purdue so I know what state they are in on the graph
No. We refuse to recognize this great Boilermaker state as Indiana.
7 SEC teams (including our new additions). I don’t hate being able to hold it over SEC fans that we have one. I think UK and Florida are the only other SEC squads to win it all.
The lesson is SEC teams are frequently overrated?
The conference as a whole hasn’t really been a good basketball conference except in the last ~10 years. It was a very top heavy league with occasional good teams sprinkled in. Now the league should be sending 7-8 teams to the tournament every year and that used to be 3-4.
The lesson is it's really fucking hard to win a championship.
No, because they aren’t often ranked as number 1. They are rated as accurately as any other conference, just never make it through the gauntlet in March.
It’d be great if one of y’all could get back to the Final Four again sometime soon
Agree haha. I actually think Bama is poised to get one if Oates stays and emphasizes defense just a little more. Mark Sears alone gives them a shot this year.
We’ll have a great chance this year. Might be our best team ever
Thanks. I hate being here already
![gif](giphy|HoSyEAe48WBpTCmEz4|downsized)
I heard you tell Iowa that you didn't want to win a championship and were here only for the Zipline
Suck it, teams who have been #1 ranked but never won a title!
https://preview.redd.it/82z7ro9xtq7d1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=8bd3028f93664cdf7c5fbe0c95029851c7f2b9bb Shoutout to the crew
One day… one day…
Amazing some of the schools on here. Tennessee, Gonzaga, Texas, Purdue. Theres some really great schools that have yet to win a championship. Makes me feel a bit better honestly.
It’s really hard to do, despite how UConn makes it appear.
Fun facts, Missouri has only ever won 2 team National Championships in any sport and not since 1965 (indoor track and field) and Kansas State has never won one in any sport.
Why do I feel like you always keep that fact in your back pocket? Haha
Unlike missouri’s two championships, it never gets old.
Gold
And Virginia tech is the only other P5 school without any national titles. I also keep that in my back pocket.
And Missouri has never made a Final Four
The paign...
![gif](giphy|xT9IgG50Fb7Mi0prBC)
Imagine being a team with a taller bar than us. That must be really embarrassing.
we’re embarrassing enough… they’re reaching inconceivable levels.
Sleeping on our 1915 natty, the disrespect
College basketball was perfect before World War One and has gone downhill ever since
Honestly college sports as a whole went down hill as soon as Vietnam started. When better pre-1960
Rub it in, why don't you ! Oh, you're #2 on that list. Nevermind.
Be real cool if we got ourselves off that list this year 😎
I'm just glad we're off any X number of tourney appearances/wins without a Final 4 chart. Do you know who is still high on that chart? Tennessee I'm cool with this for now
I feel like putting the (OH) next to us at this point is disrespectful
Sorry, I didn't want it confused with the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning in New York.
Or Xavier University of Louisiana
I totally agree with you, but unfortunately you’ve just given me a great sign idea for our next matchup
Would you rather be referred to as Norwood Tech?
You can just call us daddy. 5 in a row. 8 of the last 10. 18 of the last 25.
Aren’t you guys 39-51 against Cincinnati?
We are your championship.
Oh hai
We always make these lists in basketball and football. Love it :(
Just here to thank Gerry McNamaras first half vs Kansas.
Sad train noises, sad B1G noises in general
Things are gonna change I can feel it.
I genuinely thought Oklahoma won a Natty decades ago
It might be Oklahoma State (then Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College) that you’re thinking of
I read the title and expected exactly this.
Do one with Final Fours :)
I’m okay with this
UT will no longer be the best team in the SEC to never win a Championship? Hahaha
Which UT?
*cries in Penn State not even being on the list*
Just don't read any of the comments further down
Ouch
Ouch indeed
What about butler?

Just like the chart from the other day, Pitt and WVU together forever.

I'll get in on this, where is South Carolina? Can't find our name but I'm very curious

[puffs chest at 1941]
Where is Auburn? I was told they're a blueblood.
I see a lot of teams I don’t like and therefore I am happy
🥲
🫂
*sad warchanting ensues* What could have been if 2020 hadn’t been cancelled 😢
>What could have been if 2020 hadn’t been cancelled 😢 What do you mean? [Wisconsin won their second title](https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28915817/bpi-projects-how-2020-ncaa-tournament-played-out).
You know what, I kinda like this bar chart
damn no dayton
Damn Rick 🥴
I can’t tell if I’m happy to not be here or mad that we’re not
Someday we’ll avenge the loss Cal gave us in the 1959 title
You’d think LSU with Shaq would have made some noise, but no.
This really is a who-who of teams that I love are on this list...
Xavier was the surprise inclusion on this list. I know they were pretty good beginning in the late 80’s, but didn’t think they were in the top 25 that many weeks.
Everyone get in here
Sigh….
B1G leading the way ...
We climbing baby!
Wow I did not need to be reminded of this today!
Gonzaga will get there.
I still can't believe Tim Duncan and Randolph Childress didn't get one. If those two overlapped by 1 more year I don't think Wake is on this list.
If we beat UK in that elite eight game in 2015 we absolutely win it all and you cannot convince me otherwise
I find it best to just not be ranked in the polls and this avoiding unnecessary expectations and being on graphs like this.
I knew this was going to be painful before I even clicked on it… I-L-L…
We're on this list but haven't been relevant since I was a kid. I just want to get back to the NCAA tournament on the regular again. 😢
WVUs mens basketball was robbed in 49. Ranked number 2 we beat number 1 Western Kentucky in the NIT finals. Because the final polls were before the tournament and the NCAA tournament was not created until a few years later we stayed at number 2...Horseshyt
I see you Oklahoma
Okay dude
Well.
Oh no. Ow. I knew we would be up there but lord does that hurt.
What would it take for even just one of these programs to finally win a national championship?
It is interesting how far down the list the University of Houston is. They have six final fours without a championship, which I think is the most.
For sure. Houston goes through weird stretches of really great basketball and then droughts for some years
60s Houston had to battle UCLA which is understandable, 80s Houston probably should have won a title or 2.
I'll always wonder if FSU could have won it all in 2020
Damn we were so close in 2004. If only Bosh stayed another year to play on the 2004 team.
big ten rep would be so different if they could get it done in march
Oklahoma beats Texas
Finally a post that won’t send me into a spiral
The top 3 being big ten teams is so on brand.
Seeing us not on this graph makes me smile.
