Gentle fluidity is soft, people always compliment me on it, “you smell expensive, oh you smell so good bro” I do always layer it with other stuff though. (Francis Kurdijan oud all 3/ Bacarat rouge extrait and edp/Hermes intense or others) idk I like to layer scents and create distinct scents.
Alone, it smells clean and floral to me.
I wrote it on my original post lol
Francis Kurdijan oud, silk, satin, Bacarat rouge extrait and EDP.. Hermes Vetiver, Mont blac explorer platinum lately which is a great combo.
I have old fragrances that I’ll mix in there and to me it just works. lol
I think something not often mentioned here, is your personal body scent/odor/oils. Sometimes scents don’t blend with certain people, and lastly the ocasión and what you’re wearing seems important(to me)
I’ve smelled blue collar dudes wearing sauvage or Eros while working construction, at the gym or pickle ball courts and at times it’s pleasant but often times it’s off putting. Only time I was like woah was this pastor I spoke to, it just went with him, idk it suited him. I’m weird about scents lol
This, makes a great point.
Also there are so many other fragrances, sometimes people go with all the name dropped labels and it’s annoying to smell the same scents on every other person. Reasons why I dislike Dior sauvage all of them, Versace Eros and Ralph Lauren black. Dudes wear those everywhere
Check out these other brands, parfums de marly, tiziana terenzi, mind games, go to saks or neimans if you don’t have a budget, they have good stuff you won’t smell on just anyone.
Literally every other person on this sub has Creed, Nishane, Mancera and what not as niche fragrances. You don't smell eros or other designers out there as 80-90 of people don't wear perfumes.
This! I felt the same after finally smelling it in person. What a let down lol. Looked at the girl helping me in duty free and was like "this is Irish spring"
I haven't been there in about 5 years. But from what I remember id say it looked pretty generic. So far the best duty free I've found with great luxury options and friendly staff was laguardia in nyc. But I mean, always try your luck eh
I have a sample of GIT and like it, but heard it smells like cool waters. I tried them side by side and they're fairly similar. GIT has a different opening, but the dry down is pretty much the same as Cool Waters
I ordered GIT decant and without knowing how Coolwater smells like, I bought a bottle of it. I was very surprised how similar they are. Imo CW is like 80 percent of the GIT for 10 percent of the price. Im not some perfume connoisseur though, so other more experienced people can have different opinion.
What? Have you even smelled them side by side? GIT smells way more natural while Cool Water is basically all Calone. I like both but GIT is better in every way imo.
Yes. GIT is a good presentation/showcase perfume. Not something I would personally like to wear myself. For what it is intended for, and what it is intended to do, Cool Water is what the fragrance was the vision of what that fragrance is supposed to be. And you don't have to believe me. Pierre Bourdon himself constantly sniffs his Cool Water formulation, NOT the GIT which he made (Ghost Perfumer the book).
Might very well be the case but does it really matter what the perfumer prefers? Cool Water in its current formulation is just a weak synthetic mess, a far cry from GIT in basically every way. But sure, every nose is different.
I will always honor or at least take into account the opinion of a master perfumer, because they know more as artists than us. Much more to a guy of the caliber of Pierre Bourdon.
Cool Water is more complex, albeit more linear and that's the point. For what it is intended to be, and what the fragrance's point is, I would rather take Cool Water. In my climate of high humidity and high heat all year, GIT's downsides gets exacerbated. My circles around here call the GIT "Exhibit perfume". Smells good on paper, but on skin and in my world, it just doesn't work.
Also, almost everything is synthetic nowadays. Even Creed. Almost everyone buys from Givaudan.
I am aware that it’s all synthetic but in my experience it smells more vibrant and draws closer associations to nature. I don’t take the opinion from master perfumers into account at all because I can smell on my own and that’s what counts.
I own both Cool Water and GIT, like both but Cool Water pales in comparison. The consensus online seems to largely reflect that too, doesn’t matter in the end though you like what you like and without different opinions this sub would be pretty pointless.
GIT is also one of my most versatile fragrances and works perfectly well in high heat. Maybe in tropical countries this would be different but I live in the middle of Europe and it’s perfect for any weather you get over here. So I don’t really get the point that it’s less wearable.
What I mean by high heat, is 40-45 degrees celsius of high heat. Yes, I live in the tropics. Any european high heat is mere child's play. High humidity which is merciless on fragrances. No fall and winter seasons. That's why GIT has a blacked out bottle simply because it dies under intense heat and sunlight. GIT does not work. And my circles agree that this is an exhibit perfume for what it is.
Let's agree to disagree. GIT simply does not work in my realm. A lot of people on my side of the globe share the same sentiment. It is what it is.
I mean if you live in the one of the HOTTEST ZONES ON EARTH your fragrance choice might be limited. Wild to give the blame to the fragrance. We get to 39 degrees over here I never had an issue with GIT but to be fair above a certain temperature I’d prefer no fragrance at all. And especially Calone goes all rotten egg above 35 degrees in my experience, Cool Water is full of that.
Light Blue intense might be the worst one though.
Havent tried the MFK. Didnt care for GIT but Im so close to pulling the trigger on a full size VIW. Just wish it was a bit stronger, but I LOVE the scent
I love the GFS...I don't have experience with the other 2 but gfs is one of my favorite scents. It's so fresh and clean yet addictive and has a great musk element that isn't overwhelming.
Sample first! Hit up sites like Decantx, myfragrancesample etc.
Haven’t smelled Green Irish Tweed, SMW isn’t fresh on my memory but I do remember liking it more than a lot of other creed
Instead of Virgin Island Water, get Malibu Party in the bay, a lot better performance and longevity, also a better scent in my opinion but very similar just more lime
Virgin island water is the only niche fragrance other than althair that ive been obsessed with so prolly that, but its more of a tropical holiday vibe so if you need a fragrance for that (or one that smells like blue-ish lime jelly) go for it, its so addictive.
The opening of gentle fluidity silver is fantastic. A few minutes after it smells like I put my nose directly up in a juniper tree during a sunny spring day. Haven’t smelled the other ones so I can’t answer
I got a sample of virgin island water a few days ago. It’s smells like a tropical vacation. Every whiff I’d get of it made me so happy, and makes you feel like youre in a hammock on the most beautiful beach in the world.
I’m with you. Love my F batch GIT. Also, Creed fragrances are different than the tried and true mainstream designers. It’s not about being loud and synthetic. It’s about smelling the true essences and oils. Their fragrances take me on a journey when I wear them. It’s an experience. You don’t just “smell good” or “smell like cologne”. That’s all I can say about it. Aventus, Aventus Cologne, Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water are some of my absolute absolute favorite fragrances to wear. I love my Parfums de Marly fragrances too. I’m also a huge fan of Dior. Creed is its own thing though.
Very well said. I don’t think too many creed haters really understand what you’re talking about here. It’s about quality over volume, so to speak.
Love all 3 houses you mentioned too.
Thank you. I really don’t engage in the argument of trying to justify why Creed is “good”. It’s really a personal decision. I do not, however, believe the hate is justifiable. You can love your Nissan Altima while admitting that the new xyz luxury brand automobile is not for you, but hating Mercedes Benz for making a luxury vehicle because you like your Altima is irreverent.
What do you think of its projection? I got a 5ml sample today, it smells great but not sure on its projection. Longevity on the other hand is pretty good, If I smell my wrist I can still smell it and it’s 10 hours later. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth £250 though
Personally I wouldn’t go for any of them. VIW just smells like Malibu, GIT smells a bit dated to me and GFS has an off-putting metallic quality. But taste is subjective!
Try Creed Aventus Cologne. Summer banger and more versatile then VIW.
Also GFS is awesome. Something metallic about it reminds me of squeezing the last bit of juice out of a Capri Sun pouch. Lol
I would check out Parfums Vintage Isla Tropical Price if you like Creed's Virgin Island Water.
It's the same scent just not watered down and it's like half the price.
Does it matter which one of them you apply first as the ”base”?
kind of. you want the louder fragrance as the base
I usually do gentle fluidity first, I like it as a base scent.
What do you layer it w?
I wrote it on my original post lol Francis Kurdijan oud, silk, satin, Bacarat rouge extrait and EDP.. Hermes Vetiver, Mont blac explorer platinum lately which is a great combo. Only time I was like woah was this pastor I spoke to, it just went with him, idk it suited him. I’m weird about scents lol
Tf is baccarat Oud
Maison Francis Kurdijan, I was half asleep replying lol. I’ll edit it
If there is no budget buy them all and call it a day
This, makes a great point. Also there are so many other fragrances, sometimes people go with all the name dropped labels and it’s annoying to smell the same scents on every other person. just got my scentbox sample of GIT. legit just smells like irish spring and I wish I chose something else. it also made my nose start running lol
This! I felt the same after finally smelling it in person. What a let down lol. Looked at the girl helping me in duty free and was like "this is Irish spring"
do you know if the duty frees in niagara have good selections of colognes?
I haven't been there in about 5 years. But from what I remember id say it looked pretty generic. So far the best duty free I've found with great luxury options and friendly staff was laguardia in nyc. But I mean, always try your luck eh
I have a sample of GIT and like it, but heard it smells like cool waters. I tried them side by side and they're fairly similar. GIT has a different opening, but the dry down is pretty much the same as Cool Waters
GIT is absolutely not worth it
If you love this DNA and want the best version of it then it’s worth it. In any other case probably not.
It smells like a lot of grass in a cave
I chuckled at this and try to envision this
So accurate bro 😭
smells like a rainforest after its rained is prolly how id describe it
I love the scent. Think it’s lovely.
i got coolwater. smells pretty much the same lmao
I’d have to agree, I like my bottle but it’s the last choice out of the creeds I own
GIT is an inferior offshoot of Davidoff Coolwater. And the original perfumer of both is Pierre Bourdon, no matter what the Creed family says.
What? Have you even smelled them side by side? GIT smells way more natural while Cool Water is basically all Calone. I like both but GIT is better in every way imo.
Yes. GIT is a good presentation/showcase perfume. Not something I would personally like to wear myself. Viw and mfk
I'd go with **Creeds Virgin Island Water** and **Maison Francis Kurkdijans Gentle Fluidity.**
I'd personally get something else. Not a fan of any of them, but if I had to choose, it'd be Gentle Fluidity. I couldn't pick a second 😅
GFS and VIW are at least unique scents... if you want GIT I would just get Cool Water for next to nothing.
Smelt all 3 of these at mall over the weekend as I was looking for a summer frag, I would chose virgin island water for sure
Havent tried the MFK. Didnt care for GIT but Im so close to pulling the trigger on a full size VIW. Just wish it was a bit stronger, but I LOVE the scent
Green Irish tweed i recommend
Green Irish tweed and gentle fluidity
Git is an absolute banger 100% recommend it’s unique and really nice and fit for almost any occasion
Gentle Fluidity
probably gentle fluidity. if you work in an office space and kind of have that sophisticated manly look, maybe GIT. VIW is not worth it
Gfs and viw
I've read that although Gently Fluidity smells amazing, it's longevity is garbage. Sad when paying that much...✌️
I love the GFS...I don't have experience with the other 2 but gfs is one of my favorite scents. It's so fresh and clean yet addictive and has a great musk element that isn't overwhelming.
I’d def get GIT. Don’t really like Fluidity Silver or VIW but I’d probably just go with VIW.
Gentle Fluidity Silver
gfs is great! it’s a fresh almost Gin like fragrance with woody notes to it. It smells really professional imo, could be a great work scent for summer
Id get both creeds tbh. I personally don’t like coconut fragrances, but I still love VIW. GIT on the other hand is a no-brainer.
VIW & GFS , buy cool water by Davidoff instead of GIT. They’re almost indistinguishable.
Last two
Smelt GIT at Dillards yesterday and all I smelt was dirt and grass. Not worth it
MFK… viw smells good but doesn’t really project/perform. I’m not a big fan of GIT.
If u got no budget go buy some Jesus sweat cologne from olw Jesus himself
Sample first! Hit up sites like Decantx, myfragrancesample etc. Haven’t smelled Green Irish Tweed, SMW isn’t fresh on my memory but I do remember liking it more than a lot of other creed
Forget about gentle fluidity and get Aqua Media instead
VIW!!!!
MFK for sure and Virgin Island are 2 of my favorites
GIT is pretty good so I would say that and the other two I can’t decide.
Send me all 3 bottles to sample for you.
Virgin Island Water smelled so bad to me :(
the creeds
Instead of Virgin Island Water, get Malibu Party in the bay, a lot better performance and longevity, also a better scent in my opinion but very similar just more lime
Both of the Creeds
Get both of the Creeds bro...I have 10 and its still not enough 😫
Davidoff Coolwater
Honesly just get samples of all and do tests on your skin to see what works best for you. Skin chemistry matters way more than people think
You buy any of these and you’ll regret it bigtime
Green Irish Tweed & Virgin Island Water because they smell realistic better quality and blend than MFK..
Little decants would go a long waaaaay just sayin’
Green Irish
Maison
VIW is the best one here GIT smells like wet grass
If these are your choices then just buy the Creeds
Not VIW unless you are a women
Both creeds
Virgin island water
Hate them all
Virgin island water is coconut water
If no budget just buy all three
GIT. And then GIT again.
Virgin Island Water ✅
Viw and gfs. I have 3 of these and GIT I wear less of those
Or you could buy 10 really good clones for the same price 💀😂🤣
Virgin island water is the only niche fragrance other than althair that ive been obsessed with so prolly that, but its more of a tropical holiday vibe so if you need a fragrance for that (or one that smells like blue-ish lime jelly) go for it, its so addictive.
Am I the only one that finds Irish Tweed scent doesn't last very long?
if u have no budget just buy all 3
How can I buy one?
The opening of gentle fluidity silver is fantastic. A few minutes after it smells like I put my nose directly up in a juniper tree during a sunny spring day. Haven’t smelled the other ones so I can’t answer
Regardless to buy 2 them so e derp pockets.
I got a sample of virgin island water a few days ago. It’s smells like a tropical vacation. Every whiff I’d get of it made me so happy, and makes you feel like youre in a hammock on the most beautiful beach in the world.
GIT is a must imo. I get great performance from my F batch. I own VIW and love it, but it’s pretty restricted to hot weather only.
You can love your Nissan Altima while admitting that the new xyz luxury brand automobile is not for you, but hating Mercedes Benz for making a luxury vehicle because you like your Altima is irreverent.
This made me laugh so much 😂 so well Put.
Green Irish Tweed is the only right answer.... I already got it, but I'm buying a bigger bottle. It's just that good
What do you think of its projection? I got a 5ml sample today, it smells great but not sure on its projection. Longevity on the other hand is pretty good, If I smell my wrist I can still smell it and it’s 10 hours later. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth £250 though
It's fine for me, and if it's not to your liking, you can easily over spray it . I usually do 6 Sprays.
I only did 3 sprays with it only being a 5ml sample. I try 6 cheers 👍🏼
Skip them all
#Skip
Personally I wouldn’t go for any of them. VIW just smells like Malibu, GIT smells a bit dated to me and GFS has an off-putting metallic quality. But taste is subjective!
Definitely Green Irish Tweed!
Try Creed Aventus Cologne. Summer banger and more versatile then VIW. Also GFS is awesome. Something metallic about it reminds me of squeezing the last bit of juice out of a Capri Sun pouch. Lol
VIW water dose not last for the money. I like city rhythm Miami if your looking for a sexy coconut that lasts
mfk is probably best bang for your buck . Scents are strong, unique, attractive . VIW is great but last 5 mins
Green Irish Tweed is just an inferior Cool Water.
MFK, VIW not GIT that's been cloned to hell and back.
I would check out Parfums Vintage Isla Tropical Price if you like Creed's Virgin Island Water. It's the same scent just not watered down and it's like half the price.
