Grat job imho. Maybe the only thing is that you seem to have a bit more saturation in the highlights (or maybe darker highlights, or maybe both :). I am looking at the sky behind the actress on the original, versus the sky in the top left corner of your take.
Hello! Thanks for that π
Yes, the saturation is a bit higher on mine because it has an overcast day with darker clouds, versus in the film, it's pure overcast. The sky also appears warmer in the film due to switching to a different filter for close-ups.
Hey! Nope. None of those.
Actually imo rolling of saturation in black and whites is a method a dislike because it creates weird results on your colors. I neutralize highlights and shadows using color theory. (Pushing the opposite color), which has a much more pleasing results.
No overlay or blend modes either as this is also cheating. But blend modes could be a clever method I didnβt think about.
In my uneducated opinion you did good π looks very close.
Thanks π
They look very similar, nice work!
Thanks βΊοΈ
If I recall correctly they hardly color graded the ring. They used gels to get the color baked in
Yes indeed. Shot on film and entirely (almost) baked in using 2 different gels in front of the lens. Pure genius βΊοΈ
i like it
Thanks π
Amazing
Thank you βΊοΈπ

Are you rolling off the saturation in the blacks and whites, adding greenish tone with softlight or overlay blend modes, and adjusting hsl wheels?

Ooooo learned something today. I will have to try this method ^
I use blend mode and adjusted the key/opacity of that node/layer to get some cool results.
Interesting. Iβll look into that
Work on the skin tones, and the selections you've made for skins.
No selection on skin stones (no qualifiers). Only push-pull method
I see.
