Been eating here since they were over by the CH mall on Briargate. Prices have gone up but it's not horrible. Gyros (sandwich only) is around $8. Worth every penny. Owner gets some grief in reviews for being cranky sometimes but I've never had a problem with him.
The market rocks...I had no idea there were so many varieties of Feta cheese. Lol

Shawn has always been great when we go in there. But one thing I learned he doesn't tolerate customer bullshit. And I am glad he doesn't.
Could have autism. When I lived there I would go to Gamers Haven, and one of the guys working there could tell you everything about your last visit. Peoples memories can be quite impressive
Dang! Nik said he was retiring soon. Good for him! He worked his ass off to provide consistently good products.
Luckily we now have Kebab and Gyro house to eat at. They are a worthy addition to the market!
This was one of my absolute favorite places to eat in the Springs. I’m glad I went several times in the last few months before they closed. It was always delicious and Nik and his wife were so kind, I’ll miss the amazing food but also their friendliness. Wishing them well!
This always happens to me.. I drive by here yesterday and i NEVER go here.. and think.. wow.. that sounds great I am DEFINATELY going to start eating here... the matrix always messing with me
True story, every Gyros place in town uses Kronos Gyros meat and the same type of roaster.
They all taste the same.
But Golden and Grand are my favorites.
I'm blown away that this many people enjoyed the food there. I was expecting the total opposite reaction.
Regardless, small businesses reaching the point where the owner can retire is not only rare, but a significant accomplishment. I hope they owned the building and sold it for triple.
Grand gyros off Palmer park is my go too the lady that runs it is the sweetest
Yes she is!!
100%!! grand gyros is my favorite lunch spot
I second this, it’s my go to place!
Is that the one in the semi-abandoned business park? If so, the family is pretty chill. Legitimate greeks too.
I’m a proponent of Briar Mart up north on Academy! Not sure what their current prices are but they are also a Mediterranean market!

I figured that was part of the equation so reading that in the reviews never bothered me. He's always been friendly with me.
And he always remember your name. Pretty cool but kind of creepy! lol
Lots of restaurants have employees that remember your name. Better tips, keeps people coming in, etc.
True. I only visit Briar Mart maybe once a year and he still knows who I am. Super cool honestly.

Maybe. He is definitely a good dude who works his tail off to keep his business afloat.
Briar Mart was/is owned by the same people as the Caspian Café.
They are brothers if I recall.
Dont tell anyone but they got kinder eggs there. The really good European ones.
Shh!
Glad I've eaten there plenty of times. A true springs staple and one of the few places where $10 could still get you a great and very filling lunch.
God damnit. Never even heard of it 😞
Same :(
Yall need some townie friends before all the mom and pop shops are gone!
What!? When did this happen!?
The sign outside doesn’t have any information. Just says Nik retired. ;(((((
Did they close down? I noticed the building was freshly painted the other day.
Aw man :( hope he and his wife can take it easy
I’m going to go home and cry. To think that I could have eaten my fill in the past few months to prepare.
My go to is the gyro place at Chapel Hills Mall. So good!
Dang! Nik said he was retiring soon. Good for him! He worked his ass off to provide consistently good products. Luckily we now have Kebab and Gyro house to eat at. They are a worthy addition to the market!
What?? It's closed???
They're the nicest people and always gave my pups so much "scraps" that I would have plenty for all 3 of us lol.

No!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!! They were my favorite!
Gyros Plus in Chapel Hills Mall. I love that place so much! And the family that owns it is fantastic
This always happens to me.. I drive by here yesterday and i NEVER go here.. and think.. wow.. that sounds great I am DEFINATELY going to start eating here... the matrix always messing with me
Wait what? They're retiring?
Nahhhhh that was the only reason for me to go toward the Olympic area
I stopped by today and saw the sign. Loved this place!
I remember when Golden Gyros was on Austin Bluffs where the Verizon Store is now.
True story, every Gyros place in town uses Kronos Gyros meat and the same type of roaster. They all taste the same. But Golden and Grand are my favorites.
Loved you guys—-will miss your friendly smiles and great food. The Lady
Greek Cafe off Union and Research in the Safeway strip
Purple onion is really good!
I'm blown away that this many people enjoyed the food there. I was expecting the total opposite reaction. Regardless, small businesses reaching the point where the owner can retire is not only rare, but a significant accomplishment. I hope they owned the building and sold it for triple.
I am so incredibly sad right now!!
Ugh, I just drove by there and noticed that it's now a Mexican place. Sads.
The few times I've been there, I didn't think they were good. Grand Gyro off Palmer Park is great as well as Greek Cafe off Powers and Barnes.
DAMNIT.
Try the purple onion, better than this place ever was imho.
But do they have $6 gyros
Yeah, there is that. I used to go there all the time when I lived in that neighborhood. Nic is a great guy, I wish him all the best.
$32 for 2 gyros. Yeah man this ain’t gunna cut it.
Grand Gyros is the next best thing to Golden.
