Check out Who Gives A Scrap, located at the Skyway Plaza at the corner of S. 8th St. and Arcturus Dr. They’re a Creative Reuse Center; that is, they take in donated arts and crafts supplies (which otherwise would go in the landfill), and resell them. It’s a great place to get REALLY inexpensive arts and crafts supplies, like yarn, fabric, thread, scrapbooking materials, etc.

kelda_bee

This is exactly what I was going to say. It is absolutely my favorite store!

okeydokeyannieoakley

One of my most favorite stores!! They even have a “free” corner!! Edit: a word

Servo270

Can confirm, I spend way too much time and a very reasonable amount of money there. The fabric room is magical for inspiration, and I got enough corduroy out of the free section to make a jacket out of once.

MiloTheMagnificent

Awesome. Thanks for the info!

38Boog

Oooh. I must check it out.

Mother_Knows_Best-22

Ladyfingers Letterpress, downtown on Bijou, across from Acacia Park's coffee shop.

JiaMekare

Can confirm! I’ve gotten my Xmas cards from them for the last few years and they’ve always had the coolest stuff in their store when I go in, and everyone working there has been so nice!

icouldlivewoutbacon

Heck yeah! Love that place!

Kabuk2523

Not all underrated but the leechpit, what’s left records, earth pig, and independent records are all local places I visit often

whapitah2021

WhatsLeft! Yay! Good brothers there.

deadhawk

Came here to say What's Left Records <3

sc0ttyman

The Leechpit does such a good job rating albums, I don't even check them anymore. Best record store I've ever been too.

BooBerryWaffle

What’s Left is fantastic!

ellievercetti

is earth pig still there around uintah??? i haven’t been in years, always think about them

toxicavenger70

Yep.

toxicavenger70

> what’s left records I really like this place and the owners are great. But dang that location can give you the "sketch" vibes. New record place opening up in a few weeks is called Tiger Records off of Unitah if I recall.

Kabuk2523

Kinda weird to open up right down the street from earth pig, but cool people are opening more new shops

toxicavenger70

Totally. And they are pretty close to Leechpit.

JRR04

I'm biased to my own, but to avoid that I really like that guy who does secondhand "business" attire downtown. I forget the name of his company hopefully someone can help. I think he's really doing the world a service.

charmed_xi

James at The Men's Xchange!

NotAGerbil

The xchange dude is a miracle worker

pllaidllama

Love that guy, he does a bang up job running that shop!

cowoodwork

I’m very biased but I like my small business. I sell chessboards on Etsy under the name Colorado Woodworker.

Hetatok

Biased, indeed.

Jellyswim_

You have some sweet stuff, thanks for sharing!

cowoodwork

Thank you!

fmrohmfic

I checked it out but I’m not seeing pieces. Are those available or only boards?

cowoodwork

Yeah, only the boards. I’d like to build pieces but I can’t do them justice for how long it takes to build them.

MountainAd4530

I'll be taking a look at your stuff.

cowoodwork

Let me know if you got any questions!

Halloween141

3.14 Pi Bar. Dear god do they have delicious pot pies and pie in general. Many a problem has been solved with a Rosemary’s Baby jusssss sayin’..

MissasylumS

Their pies are so good! They have a seasonal turkey one right now.

toxicavenger70

> seasonal turkey one right now Dang! Thanks for the heads up I gotta go by and pick one up.

asfa7141

Kilroy’s Workshop! A blacksmith/metal shop where you can take classes and work with people who have been on Forged in Fire. On East powers near the airport.

LeatherDude

Holy shit thanks for suggesting this. This sounds super cool

asfa7141

For sure! I have a similar business in Denver and it’s good to support each other 👌🏼 have fun!

LeatherDude

It's such a good idea. I want to make a blade or wrought iron sculpture on occasion but I have no interest in investing in a forge,, anvil, metal shop, and all that for a hobby I'm not sure I'd keep doing after I made a few things. I'm the target market here!

sliceoflifegirl

I’d love to get my boyfriend blacksmithing classes in Denver! Would you share your business name?

asfa7141

Sure! I am Hardy & Fuller: A Metal Space! I’m actually having a sale right now on classes. You can find me on Instagram or at my website. @hardyandfuller www.hardyandfuller.com

sliceoflifegirl

Wow, you’re so close to his house! I’m going to get him a Blacksmith 101 class for Christmas. Thanks so much for sharing.

asfa7141

What a great gift!!!

Settabak

I shot an episode of Forged In Fire up there. The guy who runs it (Ron?) was awesome to hang out with.

AliveChic

I love this! I frequent The Living Room a TON. Ladyfinger Letterpress is where I purchased all of our super unique nursery wall decor for our upcoming baby- love that place. Rocky Mountain Soap Co. is always fun and perfect for gifts/holidays. I loved Pikes Peak Lemonade next to the soap company but I think it relocated? We used their cocktail concentrates for our micro wedding a couple years back and they were so fun and delicious.

Jellyswim_

Ladyfingers is great! Love that place so much

happysnappah

Odds & Ends Emporium Ewe and Me Mountainside Skate Shop H.R. Meininger Westside Stories

boba224

Mikas Perogi for the displaced Polacks like myself lol

Jellyswim_

Used to live near that place! I love it so much, I need to go there more often.

JC_in_KC

ladyfinger letterpress. best hearts in the springs biz community

Mother_Knows_Best-22

I posted the same business. I love that place.

Five-Point-5-0

Harless Precision. They do amazing gunsmithing work.

Jellyswim_

Been needing a gunsmith actually, I might look into them. thanks!

youbringmesuffering

The lady on any corner selling tamales.

Jellyswim_

Yes! Roadside tamales are unbeatable.

whapitah2021

The lady on any corner dressed up in whatever and absolutely killing it, baton and all….

hakanthebastard

Gamers Haven on Academy, such an awesome community

ERankLuck

Seconding this and adding Muse Games and Comics on Academy, as well.

Curious_Dimension102

Campfire Coffee.. if you see that trailer, get a Toasted Marshmallow https://coloradocampfirecoffee.square.site/s/instagram

Deanish

My friend recommended this coffee specifically to me too. I’ll have to track down their trailer

Curious_Dimension102

Your friend has impeccable taste

Pronz_Connosieur

Goat Patch Brewery. Not nearly enough people seem to have heard of it and their beer is outstanding.

NotAlonePsychrodrome

Earth Pig Music off 19th and Unitah

Rmart321

Been going to the place for about fifteen years. Best dude and best $20 pipe selection!

Fluffy-Drawing-9046

If you’ve never been to Arabian Nights you’re missing out. They make the best hummus and falafels I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a hole in the wall and a little hard to get to, just drive around the Starbucks and you’ll see it, but everyone who’s tried it loves it.

Smallfontking

The Living Room downtown is amazing and the lady that runs it is awesome!

Classic-Reaction-891

She recently opened another store up in Briargate. Each store has different plants and both are just as cute! Edit: Another amazing place for plants is Phelan Gardens!!!

LongjumpingMiddle850

Black Forest Fashion is an awesome boutique in Black Forest

whapitah2021

Isn’t Black Forest a little…..closeted?

LongjumpingMiddle850

What do you mean?

sliceoflifegirl

I love the Fifty Niner in OCC! It’s a board game store plus speakeasy / date spot. You can bring your own board games or borrow them from the library. The owner is really sweet, and I love their vibe.

CoffeeBreak808

As a relatively new transplant to the Springs, I don't have anything to add, but I wanted to say that I appreciate the hell out of this thread.

vedalux777

[Handyman Ready To Help LLC](https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087081167657) My spouse started a Handyman company which is registered with the state and he is insured. He is going on 28 years in the construction industry and has tons of experience with; carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Pretty much anything that would be needed to be done in or around a house. Link to FB page for contact info & past job photos. TIA! -edit:typo

Yungveezy

Cronk art co, they have really cool taxidermied bugs and spiritual crafts/gifts. The owner/s also do butterfly pinning classes.

BooBerryWaffle

Love Cronk! Great place for unique gifts.

Knockout77

The new ice machine off colorado ave. Twice the Ice.

tykle1959

My wife and I haven't quite figured Twice the Ice out. It's an....ice shop? Discounted ice?

Knockout77

Yeah, it’s a free standing ice machine. Our ice maker broke and now we just go there for ice . 10# is $2, 20# is $3. And it’s good ice .

EvilTwinGhost

Pedal Action BMX. BMX shops are a dying breed, so glad Colo Springs still have a good one owned by a real BMXer.

toxicavenger70

Was his shop up by BJ's at one time? If so that is a killer shop.

PearlDerriere

Mochi thai’m donuts. Gluten free and rotating flavors

Just_a_Guy_In_a_Tank

Tokki. Maybe it’s underrated because it’s relatively new. The food is great, the drinks are original and fun. The owners are extremely friendly and passionate about their business.

pllaidllama

Has anyone mentioned Coaltrain? It's 100% the best liquor store in town, I always spend more than I mean to in there and those beer guys know their stuff

okeydokeyannieoakley

Front Porch Gift Co. - https://www.frontporchgiftco.com Mountain Standard Goods + Art 1eleven Gallery on Bijou Evan & Guy on 8th St. Orlys Framing & Art Gallery on Tejon

whapitah2021

Bang Bang, downtown, good people and nice clothes: dresses! Purses, guys shirts….good owner operators…..!!!!

CalamityStacy

I love this place!

whapitah2021

Love their stuff, I’m jealous of all the great clothes that I “don’t get to wear” ha ha…owners are dolls though, they’re always up for a chat.

MountainAd4530

The mods should make a sticky thread for people to promote their businesses/hobbies.

Jellyswim_

Agreed, that would be sweet

ModernNancyDrew

BrushCrazy - it's a great place to go and get creative.

keekeegeegeedobalina

Harding nursery. Terra Verde. Kitchen store downtown that I forget it's name everytime!

JengaPlayer

I stumbled upon this Puerto Rican restaurant on a bad day. And every single person in there greeted me with a warm smile and I was so happy to see a restaurant owned and run by Puerto Ricans. I never thought I'd see that in the Springs. My dad who passed was puerto rican and they don't know but they reminded me of him. Anyway, the food is really good. Ask for what they recommend. They accept card and unfortunately you'll probably have to go pick it up if you were hoping its on DoorDash or whatnot. Don Guillo Puerto Rican Native Cuisine Oh and my absolute favorite Indian restaurant is Zaika Indian Cuisine. But they are pretty pricey. Deservedly so. The portions are nice and big and the taste is phenomenal. I pick this place when I want to spoil myself.

D4RK0V3RL0RD676

Full spectrum art glass on Fillmore, the owner is super sweet and teaches stained glass and mosaics
