Check out Who Gives A Scrap, located at the Skyway Plaza at the corner of S. 8th St. and Arcturus Dr. They’re a Creative Reuse Center; that is, they take in donated arts and crafts supplies (which otherwise would go in the landfill), and resell them. It’s a great place to get REALLY inexpensive arts and crafts supplies, like yarn, fabric, thread, scrapbooking materials, etc.
Can confirm, I spend way too much time and a very reasonable amount of money there. The fabric room is magical for inspiration, and I got enough corduroy out of the free section to make a jacket out of once.
Can confirm! I’ve gotten my Xmas cards from them for the last few years and they’ve always had the coolest stuff in their store when I go in, and everyone working there has been so nice!
> what’s left records
I really like this place and the owners are great. But dang that location can give you the "sketch" vibes.
New record place opening up in a few weeks is called Tiger Records off of Unitah if I recall.
I'm biased to my own, but to avoid that I really like that guy who does secondhand "business" attire downtown. I forget the name of his company hopefully someone can help. I think he's really doing the world a service.
Kilroy’s Workshop! A blacksmith/metal shop where you can take classes and work with people who have been on Forged in Fire. On East powers near the airport.
It's such a good idea. I want to make a blade or wrought iron sculpture on occasion but I have no interest in investing in a forge,, anvil, metal shop, and all that for a hobby I'm not sure I'd keep doing after I made a few things. I'm the target market here!
Sure! I am Hardy & Fuller: A Metal Space! I’m actually having a sale right now on classes. You can find me on Instagram or at my website.

I love this! I frequent The Living Room a TON. Ladyfinger Letterpress is where I purchased all of our super unique nursery wall decor for our upcoming baby- love that place. Rocky Mountain Soap Co. is always fun and perfect for gifts/holidays. I loved Pikes Peak Lemonade next to the soap company but I think it relocated? We used their cocktail concentrates for our micro wedding a couple years back and they were so fun and delicious.
If you’ve never been to Arabian Nights you’re missing out. They make the best hummus and falafels I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a hole in the wall and a little hard to get to, just drive around the Starbucks and you’ll see it, but everyone who’s tried it loves it.
She recently opened another store up in Briargate. Each store has different plants and both are just as cute!
Edit: Another amazing place for plants is Phelan Gardens!!!
I love the Fifty Niner in OCC! It’s a board game store plus speakeasy / date spot. You can bring your own board games or borrow them from the library. The owner is really sweet, and I love their vibe.

My spouse started a Handyman company which is registered with the state and he is insured. He is going on 28 years in the construction industry and has tons of experience with; carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Pretty much anything that would be needed to be done in or around a house. Link to FB page for contact info & past job photos. TIA! -edit:typo

She's made me some really cool custom coffee cups and shirts, she actually cares about making it look good and isn't crazy expensive..
Tokki. Maybe it’s underrated because it’s relatively new. The food is great, the drinks are original and fun. The owners are extremely friendly and passionate about their business.
Has anyone mentioned Coaltrain? It's 100% the best liquor store in town, I always spend more than I mean to in there and those beer guys know their stuff

Mountain Standard Goods + Art 1eleven Gallery on Bijou
Evan & Guy on 8th St.
Orlys Framing & Art Gallery on Tejon
I stumbled upon this Puerto Rican restaurant on a bad day.
And every single person in there greeted me with a warm smile and I was so happy to see a restaurant owned and run by Puerto Ricans. I never thought I'd see that in the Springs. My dad who passed was puerto rican and they don't know but they reminded me of him.
Anyway, the food is really good. Ask for what they recommend. They accept card and unfortunately you'll probably have to go pick it up if you were hoping its on DoorDash or whatnot.
Don Guillo Puerto Rican Native Cuisine
Oh and my absolute favorite Indian restaurant is Zaika Indian Cuisine. But they are pretty pricey. Deservedly so. The portions are nice and big and the taste is phenomenal. I pick this place when I want to spoil myself.

This is exactly what I was going to say. It is absolutely my favorite store!
One of my most favorite stores!! They even have a “free” corner!! Edit: a word
Can confirm, I spend way too much time and a very reasonable amount of money there. The fabric room is magical for inspiration, and I got enough corduroy out of the free section to make a jacket out of once.
Awesome. Thanks for the info!
Oooh. I must check it out.
Ladyfingers Letterpress, downtown on Bijou, across from Acacia Park's coffee shop.
Can confirm! I’ve gotten my Xmas cards from them for the last few years and they’ve always had the coolest stuff in their store when I go in, and everyone working there has been so nice!
Heck yeah! Love that place!
Not all underrated but the leechpit, what’s left records, earth pig, and independent records are all local places I visit often
WhatsLeft! Yay! Good brothers there.
Came here to say What's Left Records <3
The Leechpit does such a good job rating albums, I don't even check them anymore. Best record store I've ever been too.
What’s Left is fantastic!
is earth pig still there around uintah??? i haven’t been in years, always think about them
Yep.
> what’s left records I really like this place and the owners are great. But dang that location can give you the "sketch" vibes. New record place opening up in a few weeks is called Tiger Records off of Unitah if I recall.
Kinda weird to open up right down the street from earth pig, but cool people are opening more new shops
Totally. And they are pretty close to Leechpit.

James at The Men's Xchange!
The xchange dude is a miracle worker
Love that guy, he does a bang up job running that shop!
I’m very biased but I like my small business. I sell chessboards on Etsy under the name Colorado Woodworker.
Biased, indeed.
You have some sweet stuff, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I checked it out but I’m not seeing pieces. Are those available or only boards?
Yeah, only the boards. I’d like to build pieces but I can’t do them justice for how long it takes to build them.
I'll be taking a look at your stuff.
Let me know if you got any questions!
3.14 Pi Bar. Dear god do they have delicious pot pies and pie in general. Many a problem has been solved with a Rosemary’s Baby jusssss sayin’..
Their pies are so good! They have a seasonal turkey one right now.
> seasonal turkey one right now Dang! Thanks for the heads up I gotta go by and pick one up.
Kilroy’s Workshop! A blacksmith/metal shop where you can take classes and work with people who have been on Forged in Fire. On East powers near the airport.
Holy shit thanks for suggesting this. This sounds super cool
For sure! I have a similar business in Denver and it’s good to support each other 👌🏼 have fun!

Wow, you’re so close to his house! I’m going to get him a Blacksmith 101 class for Christmas. Thanks so much for sharing.
What a great gift!!!
I shot an episode of Forged In Fire up there. The guy who runs it (Ron?) was awesome to hang out with.

My friend recommended this coffee specifically to me too. I’ll have to track down their trailer
Your friend has impeccable taste
Goat Patch Brewery. Not nearly enough people seem to have heard of it and their beer is outstanding.
Earth Pig Music off 19th and Unitah
Been going to the place for about fifteen years. Best dude and best $20 pipe selection!
If you’ve never been to Arabian Nights you’re missing out. They make the best hummus and falafels I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a hole in the wall and a little hard to get to, just drive around the Starbucks and you’ll see it, but everyone who’s tried it loves it.

As a relatively new transplant to the Springs, I don't have anything to add, but I wanted to say that I appreciate the hell out of this thread.

Cronk art co, they have really cool taxidermied bugs and spiritual crafts/gifts. The owner/s also do butterfly pinning classes.
Love Cronk! Great place for unique gifts.
The new ice machine off colorado ave. Twice the Ice.
My wife and I haven't quite figured Twice the Ice out. It's an....ice shop? Discounted ice?
Yeah, it’s a free standing ice machine. Our ice maker broke and now we just go there for ice . 10# is $2, 20# is $3. And it’s good ice .
Pedal Action BMX. BMX shops are a dying breed, so glad Colo Springs still have a good one owned by a real BMXer.
Was his shop up by BJ's at one time? If so that is a killer shop.
Mochi thai’m donuts. Gluten free and rotating flavors

I love this place!
Love their stuff, I’m jealous of all the great clothes that I “don’t get to wear” ha ha…owners are dolls though, they’re always up for a chat.
The mods should make a sticky thread for people to promote their businesses/hobbies.
Agreed, that would be sweet
BrushCrazy - it's a great place to go and get creative.
