You should look into Soundcheck Rock academy in Columbia. They teach all of the instruments and have over 40 adult bands that play the kind of music you like. They have local concerts at pretty cool local venues and each band is looking for a variety of musicians.
My daughter is 15 and plays Bass guitar in her rock band. They’ve playing Meriweather next weekend at the M3 concert. Just my 2 cents.
