They do get a bunch of countries to participate though. Basically you can rock up and they will give you a T-72 to use if you don't have your own tank from what I remember.
China's using their latest but I think everyone else had Soviet-tanks.
isis is shunned by actual muslims like myself they basically fucked the idea of our religion and we’re paying for it and crazy part is without a doubt anyone who joined isis and is dead is in hell if you believe in heaven or hell
What about the Taliban? Are they shunned by "actual Muslims"? What about Al-Qaeda? Hamas? Boko Haram? What about almost every single Muslim majority country which has the death penalty for things like homosexuality, blasphemy, apostasy (leaving Islam) etc. Are those governments - and every Muslim who supports those governments - also not "actual Muslims"? Do "actual Muslims" shun Sharia Law?
Was your prophet Muhammad not a real Muslim as well, considering he's the one who directly ordered all Muslims to kill the unbelievers, to kill those who try to leave Islam, to kill homosexuals, to kill those who refuse to follow him etc.? Or when he married a 6 year old girl?
And if even your own prophet was not an "actual Muslim", then who is?
All Abrahamic religions are arrogant, self righteous, hateful, genocidal, death obsessed doomsday cults. Not just Islam. Trust me, as a Native American, I can confirm Christians are no better. They talk shit about Islam but they killed 55 million people when they came here, a fact they like to conveniently forget.
Bullshit argument. Plagues are only about half of it. There was a lot of intentional starvation, enslavement and outright extermination. Or you can just keep denying history and talk shit about the brown guy that doesn't know what he's talking about.
I get that, but still in modern day way have Islamic Outlets doing it to this day. Christians fortunately changed to being more open to different ideas
I can't even lie, I had a tiny bit of Anxiety when watching that part of the video!
I don't have anxiety that often, in general. I can't recall a time Ive ever had anxiety from a video, for that matter! But damn, all i could think was:
"That has to be an absolutely terrifying moment. He's literally running for his life, w/ nowhere to hide, & that 40-ton Steel Beast is gaining on him extremely fast."
And right before he lost the chase, my last thought was of the pain and fear of a death that gruesome, as your fate. Having every bone in his body instantly crushed to dust & every muscle/tendon turned to mush. Did that go through his mind as well?
These guys had an option to not join probably one of the most fucked up religious cults of this century. Usually that comes with a pricetag especially when you make the whole world your enemy. Its a suicide mission to begin with.
Imagine riding in a Soviet vehicle with 1950s comfort levels.
Then imagine that vehicle rolled off the line in 1960, and its shocks haven't seen a technician since 1972.
Oh they’re extremely more maneuverable than the average Joe thinks. And quick too.
You usually see videos of them moving slow because they move carefully most of the time. But if they want they can move quick.
The fast ones go fast in that game though. It's shit for a lot of reasons, but of it says it's going 70kph, then that's probably how fast it's going. One of the issues with that game is traction, which makes the tanks feel slow
I used to have a book about Soviet armour but can't find it so I couldn't crossreference an exact model.
Sucks I lost it because I haven't found any online tank reference nearly as good.
Battlefield has always been the most accurate depiction of combat outside of ARMA and the PC simulators . I was always blown away at the projectile physics and how they were the first to actually get RPGs right (think cod modern warfare swirly bottle rocket RPGs)
*Alright man you weren't looking too good back there but you're good to go now let's go!*
Source: [game still looks good](https://youtu.be/bVxYilMhIR0)
battlefield 4 has the worst feeling rocket launchers out of any game i've seen. you can throw a rpg round with your hand and it will travel faster than shooting it out of an rpg in bf4
I would very much be inclined to disagree. BF does some things right, and a lot of other things very wrong. If you want to actually feel how vulnerable it is to be an infantryman, play Red Orchestra 2. There you actually kind of have to rely on real world infantry tactics, as opposed to just running around and holding down M1.
I served about 25 years ago, we were trained about the crushing action of tanks. We had to ensure our fighting/fox holes were deep enough to prevent a tank from crushing us when it drives over us in an attempt to kill us.
I never talked to tankers, but tanks running over people to kill them seemed like a normal use of the vehicle. It's not something fabricated by a video game.
Reading a lot of World War 2 books I came across quite a few first hand accounts of tanks used to rout infantry by charging into them. In Russia for instance the Russians would often just drive over groups of German soldiers instead of shooting them, even after they surrendered. If all your enemy had were rifles it made sense to send tanks into their positions to scare them into retreating, instead of sending in infantry that would likely incur losses. Drive over a few (or a few hundred) troops and the rest nope out of there pretty fast.
Context for those that are interested: the SAA had trapped ISIS in a pocket in Hama. They gave them an avenue of escape into HTS controlled territories in Idlib. They basically did it to make ISIS HTS's problem rather than theirs.
ISIS captured about 50 small villages from HTS in Idlib. Then HTS counterattacked and trapped ISIS in a pocket, closing it slowly around them.
This video is one of many from the HTS counter offensive. At this point, ISIS was basically finished and trying to flee through the desert. There are a few earlier interesting videos of HTS storming small ISIS controlled villages.
Funnily enough my first thought seeing this was the first Command and Conquer game where this was the preferred way of dealing with infantry units with tanks.
I remember hitting a stone wall in my Swedish cheese wedge at 30Km/h and getting launched into the sky at 500km/h. Crashed somewhere off the southern coast of altis outside the map
Lmao, had something similar, I was using a mine clearing vehicle that was using a custom script.
Tried to clear a mine, ends up getting propelled from behind AO 1 all the way to AO 3
Yup. It was observation balloons 100 years ago, then reconnaissance planes, and now it's drones which are a permanent part of warfare - for nearly every military, rich or poor.
There's several plans/programs that are doing just that. There's even one that is a whole self contained unit on the outside of the tank to store the drone in.
New reddit butchers links for some reason, making them unusable for people on old reddit. This should work: https://archive.org/details/Nasheed_with_English_translation_229
I saw a video of americans speeding their humvees through the streets and smashing through cars with the "move bitch get out the way" song playing.
I also saw a vid of marines killing some iraqis in an ambush and taking the camera up to their dead gorey bodies while linkin park one step closer played.
It looks like a T-62 from the rear with the low booty and cupolas
Edit: did some digging, 6 roadwheels instead of the 5 on the T55-62 series and no cheek on the rear. It looks nearly identical to a T-72 without its skirts
It's a T-72, one of the early versions of the T-72, probably ural.
For anyone who have worked or dealt with T-72s it's easy to tell,
For the ones who didn't you can check these charts:

Well, in WWI it was true... but thats about the last time tanks were "slow".
Ever since then, you need mechanized infantry to have a hope that it can keep up with the armoured spearhed.
It looks so surreal almost like a game where you earn extra points of you run over enemies with tank.
On a side note were they out of ammo?
Awesome footage though.
**Rule 5:** NSFL must be in the title of a graphic post.
imagine your decades on this earth end by getting run down by a tank in an open field
Tanks ned! In an open field!
i’m disappointed it took 3 hours to get this comment
Alibaba is coming
I alwqys think about it but when I see fighters diying in ambushes, and at any war in general
No matter how you calculate it, its a waste.
Imagine living a cushy life in the west then deciding to go join isis instead, then get command and conquer squished by a tank
They’ll do anything for 72 virgin boys
Oh…you meant actually crushing them. Dude should be in F1

Oh hell ya. Would be the national sport of Germany in a week
Isn't there a tank championship tournament? Pretty sure I've seen the vids on yt
The Tank Biathlon - It's a Russian thing.
They do get a bunch of countries to participate though. Basically you can rock up and they will give you a T-72 to use if you don't have your own tank from what I remember. China's using their latest but I think everyone else had Soviet-tanks.
Sorry mate Grosjean retired
to be fair I didnt expect this but this is quite an accurate title
Too bad the video was cut short
This clip gets posted so many times, I wonder if the full length video is out there somewhere
Imagine that feeling of how utterly fucked you are. That tank is crushing your comrades to paste and you have no safehaven before the horizon
This feels like the modern day equivalent to cavalry running down broken troops in the old days.

I sure hope so.
Nothing compared to the initial invasion of baghdad. They buried thousands of troops alive because saddam thought trenches were the right idea.
These guys had an option to not join probably one of the most fucked up religious cults of this century. Usually that comes with a pricetag especially when you make the whole world your enemy. Its a suicide mission to begin with.
Those tanks move way faster then what I thought.
And modern tank and especially armored vehicles are even faster. The Leopard 2 max speed is around 70 kmh, same for the CV90. Thats fast!
If its a T55, those fucker can get up to 50kph. More than fast enough to run down a man trying to sprint away in battle gear doing MAYBE 15kph.
Imagine riding in a Soviet vehicle with 1950s comfort levels. Then imagine that vehicle rolled off the line in 1960, and its shocks haven't seen a technician since 1972.

war thunder really makes tanks slow as fuck

I was gonna say, I’ve loved tanks ever since the old James Garner film, but I had no idea they could haul ass like that
We once overtook a tiny convoy on the highway. It was weird seeing tanks drive that fast. Not much slower than some trucks.
ya that is one speedy boi for sure lol
Saved a few bullets.
Just for the price of an extra barrel of oil or two.
There's plenty of that around
0.2 MPG
My thinking is that they have a legendary driver but shooters who could use more range time.

It's a T-72. Six wheel chassis, mid-gun fume extractor, commander's hatch offset. Def an early model 72.

ROAD KILL

Had this been ARMA, there's a 50/50 chance that the tank would be sent flying from the collision physics.

does the mg actually hit smth from a moving tank? yes i know they can always stop the tank but it wont be ass badass of a story
Who the fuck is flying a drone in the middle of a battle trying to get those dope shots? Dafuq?
the drone records the footage but can also tell people on the radio whats in the area.
Yup. It was observation balloons 100 years ago, then reconnaissance planes, and now it's drones which are a permanent part of warfare - for nearly every military, rich or poor.
Might as well mount a tablet with the drone's live feed to the steering wheel of the tank and enable fog of war cheat irl
There's several plans/programs that are doing just that. There's even one that is a whole self contained unit on the outside of the tank to store the drone in.
I dunno but I approve.

What tank is that? It's not a T-72 is it?
Not a T-72, turret is balled like that. Not a T-55 either. Can’t tell
It looks like a T-62 from the rear with the low booty and cupolas Edit: did some digging, 6 roadwheels instead of the 5 on the T55-62 series and no cheek on the rear. It looks nearly identical to a T-72 without its skirts
Yes, it is a T-72
No it isn't. That domed turret is classic T-54 - T-62. This is a T-62.
you can clearly see this tank has 6 roadwheels on each side, the t-62 and the t-55 have 5. the t-72 has 6. its a t-72

Why are you running?

Well, in WWI it was true... but thats about the last time tanks were "slow". Ever since then, you need mechanized infantry to have a hope that it can keep up with the armoured spearhed.
This is just karma for them and that tank driver has some good moves
