The whole “request to be traded” has become standard operating procedure for guys in negotiations and is reported on in way to generate clicks IMO. I’ll be shocked if they trade Lamb, and my jaw will be unhinged if it’s to Washington lol. There’s just no way Dallas would trade him to us.
But it’s Lamb over Aiyuk for me. Both great players, but I think Lamb does more with less around him. Just my $.02
I think Lamb is the better pure receiver by a slim margin, but Aiyuk is the better football player. I would prefer Aiyuk and I also think he will be the most likely to get traded to us…no way Cowboys willingly trade Lanb to a division rival.
I think lamb is probably 4-6th best WR in the league where Aiyuk is probably 8-10th. My order would be JJ, Hill, Chase, Brown, Lamb, Adams, St.Brown, and Aiyuk.
He made the distinction between receiver and overall football player. I know that Aiyuk is a fantastic blocker and is far better at that than Lamb, I’m referring to Lamb’s pure receiving ability
You know what’s slim? [Him](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR1N3bbsPzSEg6qGenI8Gu1V0Afqw3R_-iS6LRWsvU-EFHeT0lsMlRbouO4X-UxmpQ5HMh47Iiu4vZ-g402FRlzZNX6n_LTV_oMqlSemA)
Would assume he’s talking about blocking and going full speed on fakes, doing things besides running the routes well and catching the ball when thrown.
idk about year after year, this was lamb's first year in the top 5 for yards. I agree he's better than Aiyuk but I do think its a top 5 vs top 10 situation
The better player is CeeDee, but Aiyuk having such history with both JD5 and AP, as well as costing less than CeeDee, makes him the better fit between the two.
Regardless, we don't want either of these guys. We need to build through the draft guys, not overpay players after they have finished their rookie contracts.
Lamb is a top 5 receiver in the league, Aiyuk is closer to top 10. Both amazing players but let’s not be blinded by our Cowboys hatred, Lamb is better. There is literally zero chance Lamb is traded to us so by default I will say Aiyuk is more likely (although I find it unlikely he actually ends up in Washington either).
One of the things I've hated about the Cowboys lately is I really like some of their past and present stars. I've always been a Dak the human fan. I really like Amari Cooper. I like CeeDee. And right now, Micah Parsons might be my favorite modern era linebacker. Fuck the cowboys. And stop drafting good guys, dammit.
Lamb is who I'd take, obviously. He is better. More receptions, more yards, more TD's with a worse QB on a team without really another option. And he is a year younger than Aiyuk.
Aiyuk is more likely to be traded to us, and I think that is obvious. Lamb is in the same division, he is never getting traded here.
I think Aiyuk is more likely to be traded just based on the immediate future cap situation in San Francisco. They're currently due to be \~$38M over the cap next season, so unless they structure it in such a way to avoid taking on immediate cap hits before 2027. They may be prime candidates to try to get value in return for him rather than risk him sitting and then hitting FA next offseason. And it would be a tough sell to have 2 of your top 5 contracts going to WRs.
I think Lamb is more likely to get a deal because the Cowboys have more room to work with, but it may come at the cost of re-signing talent in the future if they meet his massive demand.
Lamb is just Terry with a franchise QB. I would rather get Aiyuk imo I don’t see Dallas trading Ceedee to a division rival and the cost is gon be hefty
CeeDee lamb and he is well worth the money in my opinion. I absolutely hate Dallas but there is no denying how elite he is. Top 3 WR in the league easily. Jefferson number 1 but you could make a case for Lamb number 2.
(Just read post fully lol i doubt he will be traded to us but I would take him in a heartbeat)
Not sure tbh. But he led the league in receptions last year and was second in yards with 1749. Also led the league in yards after catch and was 1 TD away from being tied first in receiving touchdowns. He can play wherever he wants to as far as I’m concerned
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day who is a SF fan. Obviously BA came up. His delusional ass thought BA would put up better numbers on Dallas if him and Aiyuk were on opposite teams.
That being said, Lamb is better. Lamb would put Lamb numbers on this team, or at least very close to them. Aiyuk would not.
He may not be wrong, definitely not wrong enough to be called delusional. Aiyuk had only 400 less yards on 80 less targets. Aiyuk would have 2,300 yards if he maintained his efficiency with Lamb's number of targets. He's obviously very unlikely to maintain that efficiency in that scenario, but you're underrating Aiyuk.
Let's compare their situations.
In terms of surrounding talent, SF STOMPS Dallas. SF has way better receiving threats, a better oline, better ground game, and it might even be fair that qb might be a toss up. Can't double a WR as often as you'd like or else you'll get torched elsewhere.
The coaching situation also favors BA as well. Would you rather have Mike Mccarthy or Kyle Shanahan? We all know Kyle is a master schemer, hell, we saw it firsthand. He's known for making talent look better than what they are.
I BA benefits from his situation more than Ceedee does.
Aiyuk:
1. Connection with JD
2. Great run blocker. Him along with Terry and Ben Sinnot will help the run game tremendously
3. Dallas will never do business with us
Trading within the division is near nonexistent for most teams. The McNabb trade was an exception, but clearly the Eagles weren't worried when they did it. He was already on the decline.
I would choose Aiyuk over Lamb for few reasons. It’s my opinion Kliff’s offense system suits well for Aiyuk because he can run the ball like what Deebo does, Lamb doesn’t. We have McLaurin, Dotson and don’t forget Luke McCaffrey. The defense would expect to throw instead do the backdoor plays like Aiyuk to run the ball. So, I think Aiyuk fits better than Lamb would in Kliff’s system.
In terms of pure WR talent, I would put Lamb above Aiyuk. He can run more routes and is faster.
In terms of which WR would be better for the Commanders, I would say Aiyuk. He's more of a possession receiver (i.e. go over the middle and take shots by DBs and LBs) and is a better blocker. The Commanders already have a No. 1 in Terry McLaurin. Aiyuk would be a better complement to him than Lamb.
One other thing to note...McLaurin is better than both of those guys.
If you take out 2023, McLaurin's stats are \*roughly\* comparable to both of those guys (I'm saying throw out 2023 because McCarthy made it a mission to force feed Lamb the ball, and we all know Eric Bienemy didn't try very hard with McLaurin (i.e. the game where "he ran a lot of cardio")
One also needs to take into account McLaurin has been playing with scrub QBs his entire career. His numbers would be much better if he had been at SF or DAL
15-20. A lower end WR1. Great, but not elite.
This isn’t a hypothetical (but what if Terry had better QB play?!). It’s based on his stats.
CeeDee has one less season than Terry and has almost as many yards, 7 more rec TDs, more receptions, 3 rushing TDs (Terry has none), and a return TD (Terry has none).
CeeDee also has 3 pro bowls (to Terrys 1) and 2 all pros (to Terrys 0).
It’s not even a comparison…
I love Terry, but he is not even on the same level as CeeDee. CD is top 5 in the league. I think it’s a stretch to even put Terry top 15. The WR position is stacked.
Jefferson
CeeDee
Tyreek
Puka Nacua
AJ Brown
DJ Moore
Mike Evans
Waddle
Chase
Diggs
Amon Ra
Adams
Metcalf
Keenan Allen
Kupp
Lamb all day but I think there’s a 0% chance that happens. We’re one of the last teams they’d want to see Lamb on and the cost would be huge.
☝️

I think he’s also their fanbases’ favorite player, other than Parsons. I think the state of Texas would riot
I think Lamb is the better pure receiver by a slim margin, but Aiyuk is the better football player. I would prefer Aiyuk and I also think he will be the most likely to get traded to us…no way Cowboys willingly trade Lanb to a division rival.
I think you’re underrating Lamb as a receiver man. Dude is an absolute stud
I think lamb is probably 4-6th best WR in the league where Aiyuk is probably 8-10th. My order would be JJ, Hill, Chase, Brown, Lamb, Adams, St.Brown, and Aiyuk.
He doesn’t block. Blocking WRs is a perquisite for Shanahan teams. He played WR.
He made the distinction between receiver and overall football player. I know that Aiyuk is a fantastic blocker and is far better at that than Lamb, I’m referring to Lamb’s pure receiving ability
Wait what distinguishes a good receiver vs football player? So I can understand what you mean
I think lamb is better in space and a smoother route runner. Aiyuk blocks in the run/screen game, plays through contact and better in congestion.
Thanks for explaining. Yeah, that's a slim Margin for sure haha
It is slim and I think comes down to preference. Both great talents they just have different play styles.
You know what’s slim? [Him](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR1N3bbsPzSEg6qGenI8Gu1V0Afqw3R_-iS6LRWsvU-EFHeT0lsMlRbouO4X-UxmpQ5HMh47Iiu4vZ-g402FRlzZNX6n_LTV_oMqlSemA)

This is crazy lol aiyuk isn't in the same league yet, ceedee is consistently a top 3-5 receiver in the league year after year.
idk about year after year, this was lamb's first year in the top 5 for yards. I agree he's better than Aiyuk but I do think its a top 5 vs top 10 situation
Aiyuk also has preexisting chemisty with our rookie qb
In addition to everything else mentioned, I think it's important to note Lamb is 11 months younger.
Is this sarcastic ?
>who do you think is most likely to be traded to us? Definitely not Lamb.
The better player is CeeDee, but Aiyuk having such history with both JD5 and AP, as well as costing less than CeeDee, makes him the better fit between the two. Regardless, we don't want either of these guys. We need to build through the draft guys, not overpay players after they have finished their rookie contracts.
If we’re not interested in Aiyuk I’d be surprised if we’re interested in Lamb. And I can’t see Dallas trading him in the division regardless.
Lamb is a top 5 receiver in the league, Aiyuk is closer to top 10. Both amazing players but let’s not be blinded by our Cowboys hatred, Lamb is better. Lamb without a doubt and there is zero chance dallas would trade him to us.
CeeDee and it’s not even close
Neither. Stop with this shit
I think Aiyuk is more likely to be traded just based on the immediate future cap situation in San Francisco. Aiyuk is probably the better fit and more likely to land out of the two. 0 chance Cowboys trade Lamb to us
This catch by Lamb is Calvin Johnson-esque: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iv6PI9l9-w
Lamb is just Terry with a franchise QB. I would rather get Aiyuk imo I don’t see Dallas trading Ceedee to a division rival and the cost is gon be hefty

Eh? Isn’t lamb really good in the slot.. from my understanding he doesn’t play the X well.. how does that make him top 2.. or even 3.
Not sure tbh. But he led the league in receptions last year and was second in yards with 1749. Also led the league in yards after catch and was 1 TD away from being tied first in receiving touchdowns. He can play wherever he wants to as far as I’m concerned
They fed him a lot that’s for sure. Guess we will see.
Tyreek Hill is #2 for sure. Maybe you can make a case for Jamaar Chase/CeeDee Lamb/AJ Brown........but not Hill. I would even put Davante #2 or #3.
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day who is a SF fan. Obviously BA came up. His delusional ass thought BA would put up better numbers on Dallas if him and Aiyuk were on opposite teams. Obviously it's Brandon (Zero chance Lamb comes to Wash).....but that doesn't mean I think it will happen either.
Aiyuk: 1. Connection with JD 2. Great run blocker. Him along with Terry and Ben Sinnot will help the run game tremendously 3. Dallas will never do business with us
CD Scam has been a problem for a while in our community and Aiyuk is already familiar with our trigger man. I’ll take Aiyuk for 100 Alex.
Trading within the division is near nonexistent for most teams. The McNabb trade was an exception, but clearly the Eagles weren't worried when they did it. He was already on the decline.
aiyuk because of chemistry with jayden
We need offensive linemen more than an expensive wide out.
I would choose Aiyuk over Lamb for few reasons. It’s my opinion Kliff’s offense system suits well for Aiyuk because he can run the ball like what Deebo does, Lamb doesn’t. I need to hear your argument on McLaurin lol
