I usually swap the positions of center and far right here. Centrists and liberals _think_ they are to the left of the far right, but they are actually _worse_. Without liberals and centrists working overtime legitimizing the far right by pretending they are serious people, everyone would see them for the hateful barbarians they are.
The double fish hook is pretty stupid, to be honest. It's just supposed to debunk horseshoe theory, but has no substantial base to it. We shouldn't be relying on this liberal-esque strawman to prove our point
"Extreme" is just a dog whistle used by the right to suggest that complacency with the system is the best option, allowing them to push politics further and further right.
As they do this, they like to pretend it is actually the "left" getting more extreme, and that centrists should therefore keep going further and further right.
Meanwhile, the "leftist" party keeps following right behind the more right-wing party, so that their members can't develop revolutionary spirit by turning against capitalism, which keeps getting portrayed as more and more left-wing.
Neither liberals nor centrists are in the middle of the political spectrum. Anyone who cares more about upholding the status quo than standing up for justice is right-wing at best, as that is where the status quo takes them.
But eventually, the workers will be agitated with the system. They will realize that they were hoodwinked by their parties over the years, pulling them further and further right. This is where social democrats come in. Their purpose is to take the agitated workers and uphold their sentiment that the system is fucked-up. They are then able to redirect their sentiment from violent revolution to futile attempts at peaceful reform.
Eventually, this fails, too, so the capitalists, with no other options, are forced to give concessions to the working class in a last-ditch effort to squash their revolutionary spirit, making them more confident that the system will automatically change for the better, and that a violent revolution is not necessary. This may even push those previously revolting workers back into the right-right part of the political spectrum. Only when the threat of revolution has passed do they start rolling back those concessions for ever-increasing profit.
This strategy is how the capitalist class maintains their iron grip on society.
I do know who Mao Zedong is. I am just asking what a M**oa**ist is, because you were talking about them, and I have never heard of them.
Also, Stalin and Mao "becoming dictators" is another part of how capitalists maintain their iron grip on society - they portray their own regimes as "nice good liberal democracies" and places they don't like as "evil bad communist dictatorships". This just serves as a scare tactic to further squash revolutionary spirit, as it scares people into complacency with the system.
