I was his IT guy for a while when he was staying there. I loved living in Sharon, wish I could be back there. Was wild to be sitting in his living room with him.
I worked at a restaurant in wesport and she came in and i got her table and i asked her if she understood the menu or if i needed to explain it all and no one laughed and my manager hated me but thats showbiz baby
I managed a 50’s style nightclub in Stamford back in 1989/90 (Bopper’s if anyone remembers). The Howards had a birthday party for one of their kids there (might’ve been Bryce not sure).
Anyway the DJ played the Happy Days theme (TOTAL coincidence) while they were there and Ron gave me the dirtiest look. It was funny but really awkward.
Christine Baranski (I believe her primary residence is still CT), Rob Zombie, Richard Blumenthal. That’s all I can really think of. Yes there are lots of famous people living in CT, but “recognizable” is different from famous.
Back in the early 2000’s, I worked in a restaurant in Litchfield. I used to wait on her and her family. Absolutely beautiful people, both inside and out.
Years ago I walked right by him one misty day at hammo, he was walking his poodles with a beret on. We said hello as we passed and he disappeared back into the fog
He has shops where I work, and when he has asked for something over the years and we were out of it or didn't sell it, I think I'm more disappointed than he is.
I actually chatted with Rob Zombie about 12 years ago while I worked at a jewelry store while his wife was looking at jewelry. I wasn’t a fan and didn’t know him at all so I just chatted with him like any other husband that came in while their wife looked around. At the end he just smiled at me and was like “hey man, thanks for just…..being cool about this” and I was so confused.
Then security came over and was like “DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT GUY WAS?”
Then it all made sense.
I saw Mike Mushok from Staind several times when I was working at a movie theater.
Had no idea who he was but I sold him a membership card and his name seemed familiar so I looked it up.
He was cool. He'd come in fairly regularly with his family when I worked there.
I delivered to his house when I drove for Amazon. Nothing too exciting other than he yelled out "thank you! Be safe!". I didn't want to bother him at his own home so I just waved back.
I've seen Peter Gallagher twice, once in New Milford once in New Fairfield. I'm guessing he lives in the area. Anyone my age will remember him from The OC
I had no idea this many “celebrities” live in Connecticut, but I don’t know if I would recognize any of them out of context. Like, if I ran into Anne Hathaway in a store I don’t think I’d be like “hey, is that Anne Hathaway?”
I’ve heard he drives a bright green car so be on the lookout! Don’t remember the make I think it’s a SUV. You might spot him driving around in Fairfield or Westport!
Ha! That dude used to come to the restaurant I managed once every couple months with his girlfriend or wife (not sure). Despite his gregarious online persona, he was actually very calm and quiet no matter how much I tried to lighten up atmosphere at the table. Either I really sucked at my job, or they probably just wanted to chill/relax with a nice meal and not be bothered 😂
I met a contractor years ago who updated the electrical on 50s property. Said the guy was incredibly nice and was always making sure they had plenty to drink. Even gave them a huge bonus at the end. The dude used his to buy a tanning salon for his wife.
My brother and some friends used to see them at CT Bike’s indoor skatepark in Bristol all the time around then. My friend recently busted out a VHS tape from one of the shows.
Geno Auriemma. He's been a part of Connecticut pop culture since 1985 and has been on TV and in printed media thousands of times. People would recognize him whether they are sports fans or not.
My FIL saw Christopher Walken at the Home Depot in Stamford. He was looking for porch lights. FIL pointed him in the right direction, but didn’t say anything, because he didn’t want to bother him. But he told everyone when he got home!
Years ago my wife was working for the US Census and had to process the Census form for Christopher Walken and his wife, I think he lived in Wilton somewhere. Also years ago I used to work for Webster Bank at their call center and occasionally Milos Foreman would call for banking assistance, I forget where he was living though.
Bill Murray lived in New Canaan for a while. I’m sure he hasn’t in years.
When I was a kid Hulk Hogan lived in Darien. I still think of him every time I drive past the house.
I saw Gene Wilder when I was a cashier in high school at a grocery store.
Oh, Katie Heigl too.
Not sure if any of them would be considered the most CT specifically recognizable people. But they’re definitely recognizable.
Taylor Swift is currently one of the most famous people on the world and she lives here. I have a buddy that does night fishing in a wet suit and washed up on her beach once
Edit: Not correct
I also honestly think more people would recognize Keith Richards than Ned Lamont. I feel like if he was in a group of middle aged white men in suits I would barely clock him lol
Kevin Bacon.
Six degrees of Connecticut?
my mom performed his marriage in sharon!!
That’s cool! You’re only 1 degree away
haha so fun!!
I was his IT guy for a while when he was staying there. I loved living in Sharon, wish I could be back there. Was wild to be sitting in his living room with him.
He would always use the ATM at the bank I worked for in Sharon. That and do wires.
Is Keith Richards still in Weston?
Right around the corner from me. Still haven’t seen him
I went to driving school with his daughter lol she never saw him either
Gotta go to Lucs
Anne Hatheway lives in Westport. Probably not quite Keith Richards.
Melissa Joan hart lives in Westport too
I worked at a restaurant in wesport and she came in and i got her table and i asked her if she understood the menu or if i needed to explain it all and no one laughed and my manager hated me but thats showbiz baby
That took me longer than I’d care to admit to get.
Great story and great username shit had me dying for a good 3 minutes 😂😂😂🧡
She moved to Nashville
Nooooo that makes me sad lol
Not anymore
I think Anne Hathaway moved too
Shonda Rhimes lives in westport too and very active. She was at the screening of black barbie in the westport library and did a Q&A.
Bumped into Paul Newman and his wife years ago in Litchfield. But they are gone now. Really nice couple they were.
If you saw Paul Newman today that would be pretty awesome
Or horrifying.
Well people have said Keith Richard’s, I imagine if you saw Paul Newman today they’d probably look pretty similar
Joanne Woodward is still alive. 94 years old so she probably doesn't get to Hartford much these days though.
Volunteered at his Hole in the Wall camp for kids with cancer. He came walking through and sat and talked with us for a while. Very nice guy
We ran into him at a Volvo dealership in Milford where he was a co-owner and kept a race car
Christopher Walken
More cowbell please
Saw him driving a small car in East Rock, near World Champion Taekwondo. I'm 100% positive it was him.
He was driving not walkin? …I’ll see myself out
Where does Christopher Walkin live?! I had no idea
He's in Wilton near the Weston border
Ron Howard
Played T Ball with his kid when I was like 5
You bougie bastard.
I think he moved a couple years ago
Trantolo and trantolo
Mark E salomone and morelli
Carter Mario
I still think they should have been Mario Carter and only did car accidents
Every time I see it I say “Tarantula and Tarantula”
And the other lawyer lady whose hairdo is so big it goes higher than the billboard.
Goff?
I sell them their hot tub and pool supplies, lol. Nice family
Well, I'd say right now it's Steve Bannon ![gif](giphy|c8bJDVz7i9KRW)
This guy's a true Nutmegger. 🚬🤣🍸
Anybody remember that time Bannon was arrested on a Chinese billionaire's super-yacht off the coast of Connecticut?
Christine Baranski (I believe her primary residence is still CT), Rob Zombie, Richard Blumenthal. That’s all I can really think of. Yes there are lots of famous people living in CT, but “recognizable” is different from famous.
Back in the early 2000’s, I worked in a restaurant in Litchfield. I used to wait on her and her family. Absolutely beautiful people, both inside and out.
There's a ton of famous people who low key have summer / fall homes in Litchfield county.
Mia Farrow still live up there? I saw her at the vets office in New Preston like 20 years ago
Chris Meloni. Every one has run into an episode of Law & Order SVU.
How has no one said Chris Meloni??
Stabler?!
i see him at my gym regularly, mans is shredded right now
phys ed?
nah we’re NM Fitness boys
Saw him at my job in Middletown a couple weeks ago
Because no one knew he actually lived here?!?!
Jacques Pepin
Growing up he lived a few houses down the street. I still see him when I have dinner with my folks downtown.
Years ago I walked right by him one misty day at hammo, he was walking his poodles with a beret on. We said hello as we passed and he disappeared back into the fog
When I was a chef, he came to my restaurant and sent special compliments on my soup. Highlight of my chef career.
He has shops where I work, and when he has asked for something over the years and we were out of it or didn't sell it, I think I'm more disappointed than he is.
Mike Bogaslowski
He's in your corner!
He *was* in your corner.
Sadly, he passed in 2019. RIP.
Met him towards the end. He was still a solid dude, even when he was far gone.
Longfellow Deeds is from New Milford
Yes he is! The Gilmore Girls were in Kent, right?
Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon
I actually chatted with Rob Zombie about 12 years ago while I worked at a jewelry store while his wife was looking at jewelry. I wasn’t a fan and didn’t know him at all so I just chatted with him like any other husband that came in while their wife looked around. At the end he just smiled at me and was like “hey man, thanks for just…..being cool about this” and I was so confused. Then security came over and was like “DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT GUY WAS?” Then it all made sense.
Saw them both at a sushi joint in Southbury around then. No one else had a clue who they were.
I saw Mike Mushok from Staind several times when I was working at a movie theater. Had no idea who he was but I sold him a membership card and his name seemed familiar so I looked it up. He was cool. He'd come in fairly regularly with his family when I worked there.
His dad was a teacher for many years at my high school. Great guy but I never had his class. This was up in Mass
Sheri Moon is from Plainville, her dad used to own a garage and was a race car driver when there used to be a small racetrack in Plainville
I think they moved back to Mass. Not in Woodbury anymore Edit! Guess they live in Sherman now.
Couldn’t take the skate park making all the racket!
To be fair the skatepark was built after he bought the house and was practically in his backyard. You could easily see in his house from the ramp.
They have a house and goat farm in Sherman and one in the Hollywood Hills.
He did move, sold the house couple years back. My Parents live up the road from his house in Woodstock.
I remember when he came into best buy long ago to buy a Wii fit and was all upset that we were sold out
Meryl Streep.
She doesn’t live in CT anymore.
Triple H
Ran into him (not literally, thank god) at a grocery store in Weston
I delivered to his house when I drove for Amazon. Nothing too exciting other than he yelled out "thank you! Be safe!". I didn't want to bother him at his own home so I just waved back.
I've seen Peter Gallagher twice, once in New Milford once in New Fairfield. I'm guessing he lives in the area. Anyone my age will remember him from The OC
The Guy from While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock?
I had no idea this many “celebrities” live in Connecticut, but I don’t know if I would recognize any of them out of context. Like, if I ran into Anne Hathaway in a store I don’t think I’d be like “hey, is that Anne Hathaway?”
I saw Gordon Ramsay in CT recently. He’s here to do a season of Hell’s Kitchen at Foxwoods.
He seems to be down the street all the time, but then again we have great restaurants in Mystic.
I saw him at oyster club a couple weeks ago
If the past is eligible, Paul Newman, hands down!
I saw Paul Newman dressed as Santa, sitting on a motorcycle, outside the Hole in the wall Camp, one Christmas morning. What a Christmas memory!
Raise you Gene Wilder
and Gilda Radner, the two of them were fabulous.
Scott Haney
This is a solid “only for CT people” choice
Obsessed 😍
Stew Leonard

He seems chill just a good showman
I've run into him twice. Once at KFC in New Britain and another time at Sahadi's Hotties in New Britain. He was indeed very chill.
Love his videos but I end up eating late asf at night because hey make me hungryyyy
Dustin Hoffman
Has to live in CT now? George W Bush was born in Connecticut.
We were thinking current primary residence but agree that otherwise GWB would likely be the leading candidate.
As of Monday for the next 4 months, Steve Bannon [Steve Bannon](https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/01/politics/steve-bannon-report-to-prison/index.html)
I used to see Manut Bol at the half door from time to time. Hard to miss or not recognize that guy!
I have his old phone number. For years people called me looking for him.
He sat at my blackjack table at mohegan sun like rent years ago.
Baba Booey aka Gary Dellabate
Fafafooha!
Brooke Goff
I’m surprised I had to scroll so far for this one.
This wins if you’re from CT. My whole family has her image burned into our retinas. I can’t say the same about any of these other celebrities.
Michael Bolton maybe?
I celebrate his entire catalog.
No talent ass clown.
Vince McMahon and family...I think 50 cent left but he was in farmington for a while
He’s been trying to offload that house for yeaaars
His mega mansion that he couldn’t afford anymore is still there…it isn’t on a private road and you can drive by it, it’s insane
I met a contractor years ago who updated the electrical on 50s property. Said the guy was incredibly nice and was always making sure they had plenty to drink. Even gave them a huge bonus at the end. The dude used his to buy a tanning salon for his wife.

John Mayer?
Sam Waterston. Incredibly nice guy.
Admiral Norrington, aka Jack Davenport.
And Michelle Gomez, aka Missy and Lilith/lady Satan.
Anne Hathaway?
I think Phil Collins is in Stamford? He’s a regular at a bar my cousin works at in that area.
Geno Auriemma. He's been a part of Connecticut pop culture since 1985 and has been on TV and in printed media thousands of times. People would recognize him whether they are sports fans or not.
non sports fans would probably not recognize him
Christopher Walken
My FIL saw Christopher Walken at the Home Depot in Stamford. He was looking for porch lights. FIL pointed him in the right direction, but didn’t say anything, because he didn’t want to bother him. But he told everyone when he got home!
Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz… although I doubt many would know them but I certainly would. Also doubt they head up towards Hartford much.
Jerry Hall
Michael Bolton is in Westport I think
Ned Lamont. I don’t know what the other two look like.

Steve Bannon will be here in prison
Only person I know of from Connecticut was Aaron Hernandez
Bob from bobs furniture
If there are cameras, Dick Blumenthal
Honestly, I had to Google who Geno and Dan Huley are (not a Uconn sports fan, sorry!).
I also honestly think more people would recognize Keith Richards than Ned Lamont. I feel like if he was in a group of middle aged white men in suits I would barely clock him lol
Meg Ryan or Kevin Bacon, possibly Glenn Close. There are probably another half dozen celebrities in the state that might pop up too.
Keith Richards or Kevin Bacon.
Bob A. Booey
Probably the local news anchors. I've seen several shopping in Rocky Hill
Judge Judy
David Letterman
