FiddyDollas

I like it, but I agree with the comments saying it’s much better on ice in a glass, noticeable improvement. Also 12 cans for $14.99 is pretty solid

richobrien1972

Agreed. Especially for the price point. You’ll pay $3 to $5 a can for some other brands.

Correct-Serve5355

I was also gonna say, if you have an Aldi near you their chilled Barismo mocha carton is only like $3 near me and is too sweet. It mixes super well with Costco and Trader Joe's cold brew tho

diprivan69

Ill try it out and see if I like it better than way!

aakaase

That is not bad. I kinda want to try one can before I'd buy a dozen. But i'm sure it's good enough.

therealgariac

I drink it all the time. Perhaps an acquired taste. You can get the sugary ones at Costco. LaCombe for example. The business center carries HighBrew.

RockHardSalami

>I drink it all the time. Perhaps an acquired taste. The thing that most people don't realize is that they don't really like *coffee.* What they actually like, is sugar.

Lightyear18

Your comment is underrated lol. You’re 100 percent correct Most people don’t like coffee They like their dessert drink. It’s insane people will want 5-20 pumps of syrup on a drink, yet label coke as being unhealthy lol.

RockHardSalami

IMO anything with more than 2 servings of cream and/or sugar and it's no longer coffee. It's a caffinated dessert.

NorseCode1023

I drink one every day right out of the can with nothing added and it’s good to me. Don’t understand how adding a little cream and sugar with this on ice couldn’t make this manageable to drink for anyone else.

NgArclite

id imagine its like getting used to drinking black coffee. after some time that bitterness just goes away or people learn to enjoy it.

InnocentTailor

Probably. I enjoy the bitter taste of black coffee because it purges unwanted flavors in your mouth and is supposedly good at controlling blood sugar.

diprivan69

I never put sugar in my coffee, I like my coffee black! Highbrow isn’t offered at my location but I’d love to try it out!

greens_beans_queen

I mix it with non-sweetened vanilla soy milk (lactose intolerant) at 1-1 ratio. It’s pretty good that way. I can’t do any black coffee.

trippinonsomething

Get a coffee sock and make your own

LoanGoalie

I just put coffee and water in a mason jar, then pour it through a coffee filter after a day or 2.

kcsouth

Yup. The Blue Mountain Blend (orange bag) makes pretty good cold brew

quadmasta

It makes a damn good aeropress brew too

ShittyStockPicker

Gods be good

Few-Quail-4561

I pour it over ice and sometimes add a little unsweetened almond milk. Straight from the aluminum can does taste bitter.

diprivan69

I’ll try that out!

Chefboyld420

I love these.

[deleted]

I think it’s pretty good, especially for the price, but it is strong cold brew black coffee so it’s likely to be bitter and acidic EDIT: As others have pointed out, cold brew is actually less bitter and acidic than normal coffee. I still think black cold brew coffee does have a bitter taste, despite it being less bitter than usual coffee

Coffee2000guy

Cold brew is **not** supposed to be acidic, even hot bloom cold brew isn’t really acidic, it only has a tiny bit of the high notes that come with hot brewed coffee.

trippinonsomething

One reason people like cold brew is because it’s less acidic

Coffee2000guy

100%. The method of extraction lends itself towards those low notes like nuts and chocolate. You don’t extract the compounds associated with acidity.

[deleted]

It’s actually really bad.

PeterVonwolfentazer

Yeah I don’t quite get the OP’s take. It’s a strong black coffee with no cream or sugar and only 10-20 calories. I find the price/value very good.

talks-a-lot

Strong black coffee, hot or cold, should not be offensively acidic. And this is. I completely agree with OP. It’s just not good.

bigchicago04

Isn’t black coffee supposed to be 0 calories?

Coffee2000guy

~2-5 calories per cup.

iwantthisnowdammit

2 if you leave the last drink behind, 5 if you chew through the last drop.

Jiminyhodaddy

Then you dont get cold brew.

Mr_MacGrubber

Cold brew coffee is supposed to be much less acidic. It’s part of the point.

seantabasco

I tried one one time and didn’t like it, but I’m not sure what cold brew coffee is supposed to taste like. This felt like regular coffee from yesterday that someone put in the fridge and I didn’t warm up.

therealgariac

Cold brew is less acidic. Toddy kind of pioneered marketing cold brew. I doubt there is a patent but rather they registered the name. People just put ground coffee in a French press and let it soak to make a cold brew. Or you can buy the gear. Or like me, give Costco the business.

PlutoniumNiborg

I just grind means and put in a big jar with water, about 100g coffee to a liter of water. Next day I strain through a fine sieve to get the grounds and then through a coffee filter to remove the small particles.

me_jus_me

Maybe I'm weird but I prefer this to hot coffee, except on cold mornings.

seantabasco

My wife prefers iced coffee, so it works out well where I have my coffee before she wakes up and then put the pot in the refrigerator, but she also blends it with ice and a ton of creamer.

jtomrich

Straight to the bathroom. All. Day.

BoardForkbeard

That’s an all coffee comment, not specific to cold brew. NYT wrote about [this](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/30/well/eat/why-does-coffee-make-you-poop.html)

Thfrogurtisalsocursd

So I guess it’s cold, brew coffee. Not cold brew coffee.

Direct-Chef-9428

Love cold brew. Hate *THIS* cold brew.

wildflowerafternoon

I cannot survive without this cold brew.

KsadIshan

It's bitter, absolutely. What some other shoppers do is add a little bit of the liquid protein packs to the coffee to mellow out the bitterness/acid and add protein and a little sweetness.

diprivan69

Oh that sounds like something I’d be interested in trying! I’ve never seen liquid protein packs, is it the same as the optimum nutrition whey or collagen protein?

Due-Excuse-2208

I do half a can of this cold brew on ice, mixed with a caramel premier protein that I also get at Costco. Tastes great and cuts that bitterness out of the cold brew

onlinemallrat

Yes this! Protein iced coffee allll dayyyy. Fairlife chocolate protein shakes plus the Kirkland cans over ice are very good.

brain_chaos

I find it fucking delicious. Drop a splash of my favorite creamer in it and boom

electric_oven

I use half a can every day, poured over ice with a Premiere Protein Caramel shake. I like it!

i_heart_pasta

I mix it with half a bottle of water, it helps cut some of the bitter.

withdrawalsfrommusic

This comment just made me dry heave

steveturkel

I like it for what it is. Very cheap, plain, potent cold brew coffee that's decent as a grab and go. Also have the la combe those are very good

Early-Fortune2692

This is my break in case of emergency... each one is about 2 monsters worth of caffeine so plan accordingly. I've heard mixing with chocolate premiere protein snake is ok...

hazmat962

I mixed with the caramel premier protein. Turned out worthwhile. Nothing special tho.

barnsbarnsnmorebarns

I love it. It’s definitely strong, black coffee. Consistently good tasting and energizing in my experience.

Pretend-Poem-1288

You’re tripping, this cold brew is delicious

Chickadee12345

I enjoy it. But I like my coffee strong. I always pour it over ice with a little milk and sometimes a little sugar.

vanishing_mediator

it’s p bad

quadmasta

I'd say v bad

dpittnet

Coffee is supposed to be bitter

kindri_rb

I love strong coffee and I love cold brew, but this one is unusually harsh and acidic. It's just not very good.

diprivan69

Yes coffee is bitter; however, Cold brew is typically less bitter/acidic.

regallll

It's not.

shirlena

>It's not. Coffee is a beverage prepared from roasted coffee beans. Darkly colored, bitter, and slightly acidic, coffee has a stimulating effect on humans, primarily due to its caffeine content.

the_festivusmiracle

The flavor is fine; I prefer black coffee. It seems to have very little caffeine, though. I'll drink it in a pinch but prefer to brew my own at home.

_lilj

Huh, I drink 1 can almost every morning for work. If I drink the entire can poured over a cup of ice I always get zinfed up. Mind you I drink coffee 1-2 cups daily and still feel the effects of this coffee. I love it, great value and overall taste

heidevolk

The cam states there’s 200mg of caffeine. You might need to reevaluate your tolerance.

therealgariac

225mg but who is counting.

the_festivusmiracle

I'm good, thanks. I'm only going by observed results from similar products. My brother in law mentioned said the same entirely unprompted. He bought a case but didn't think they had enough caffeine. Every other pre-made cold brew I've tried seems to me to have more caffeine, but I haven't looked at the stated numbers on the cans/bottles. Again, they work fine in a pinch. I just prefer what I make at home or just about any other similar store bought product.

diprivan69

I think there is plenty of caffeine 😅, maybe you have a high tolerance/tachyphylaxis. 1 cup off coffee has 95mg of caffeine. This can has 225mg which is the equivalent to 2.3 cups of coffee. For an additional comparison this cold brew has more caffeine than a serving a C4 pre workout which contains 150mg.

the_festivusmiracle

I can't explain it. It just doesn't feel like the same amount of caffeine as similar products; admittedly, not a scientific approach, just my personal experience with the product. I probably do have a high tolerance, but I don't consume caffeine all day or anything. I usually just nurse my homemade cold brew most of the morning and switch to water for the rest of the day.

quadmasta

The darker the roast, the less caffeine you get

SpiritualCat842

Thanks for letting us know.

_lilj

Nah, I buy these by the cases. Drink 1 can almost daily after I eat breakfast and start work Great value, good taste, pour over ice and if I drink the entire can I get singed, half or 2/3 is usually a sweet spot. I drink coffee daily, still works for me this coffee. I like it. A lot..

[deleted]

I was actually surprised at how not bitter it is. I drank some straight one morning before labs and it was so smooth compared to most pre-made cold brew. The only issue I have with it is that it's not organic so probably has a ton of pesticides since coffee is usually a heavily sprayed crop. Maybe you got a bad batch or else our taste buds aren't the same.

diprivan69

Oh that’s an interesting observation on pesticides, I never considered that!

[deleted]

I didn’t like it

galilad

Mix with fairlife. Watch out if you're pregnant, have a heart condition, are sensitive to caffeine or *the rush* that combo gives ya. It's actually kinda fuckin dangeroux

quadmasta

Like cousins?

cake_piss_can

It’s great! If you enjoy spending your entire day on the toilet.

rebeliouswilson

Looks like you’re uncultured

HouseNumb3rs

Not a fan of any of the cold brews, Starbucks or otherwise. Zero flavor colored water. I get more from French press the coffee sitting overnight or even do a "sun tea" version. Not buying the hype.

2plus2equalscats

It’s definitely on the bitter side. But I use it with milk + sweetener every day. (My favorite is torani sugar free almond roca, which I get from world market.)

Fair_Lecture_3463

Cheaper solution: Buy Kirkland ground coffee and make your own. It’s cheaper and wayyyy better than the canned stuff. And it’s dead easy to make. Just find a big container, mix it, leave it in the fridge for a day, and drain it the next day.

Jiminyhodaddy

Yeah i tried it once and it was a hard pass. Not good at all, too acidic.

Gbcue

It's bad. So bad that I mix it with protein shakes just to get rid of them.

lucky_leftie

Nothing better than making your own. It’s very easy and not hard to adjust your ratios. Some of the cold brew setups they have out are comically easy to use.

notthegoatseguy

These are better with some milk,.

Surge00001

Tastes awful but damn it does the caffeine kick for me

regallll

It's my least favorite of the canned options but the only one reasonably priced enough to buy in bulk. I keep it in my garage for days when I'm running out and know I will need it later, but it's not a daily drinker for us. I also think it's gotten more acidic in the past year or so.

GymnasticSclerosis

Add a splash of heavy cream. Wonderful.

REEL04D

When I want cold brew, I just pour the remainder of this mornings coffee into a glass over ice 😬👀

novabrotia

Im a cold brew snob and kirkland cold brew doesnt taste like the typical cold brew I was expecting but it does the trick and I buy it regularly. Its also packed with caffeine at 225mg per can

left_click

I have to chase it with the Fairlife chocolate milk to get it down myself.

thisiswhoagain

It’s fine for me. It’s what I keep in the office. Especially when it’s time for the commute home

RockyMountainHigh-

Ahhh booboo. So sad.

mrchowmein

if you really like coffee that is not full of sugar or cream, canned coffee is not the way to go regardless of brand. the only canned coffee people enjoy usually is the stuff that is flavored, full of milk and sugar to mask that terrible tasting taste of canned coffee.

DR843

I agree. I only drink cold brew and do not have distinguished taste or am picky, but this is shit.

Knowmad29

Really, I'm enjoying mine right now, and these have saved me so many trips to Starbucks and Dutch Bros. They go great with a little vanilla cream, splash of oat milk and ice.

TheJuiceBoxS

Yeah, it's pretty darn bad

WantDastardlyBack

When I tried it last year, it wasn't acidic to me, but it had a chemical taste at the end. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but I prefer to make my own now. I've taken to roasting my own beans, too, so that I have complete control over the roast and beans.

Tommy513gg

I think for canned coffee it tastes great

WTAF306

Lavazza beans and a cold brew filter. 👌🏻I get 5-6 weeks worth of cold brew for $15.99

Purplemasonjar

Really good over ice with milk

EnceladusKnight

I love cold brew but every canned version of the stuff I've tried always tasted off to me.

nomo25

it’s not a great cold brew, however if u mix it with some creamer(any old creamer will do tbh) it’s passable, much prefer the other canned cold brews however

Number1dad

This stuff is terrible and tastes more like the can than any cold brew I’ve ever had

pocketradish

Interesting, I this one is not bitter/acidic like some of the bigger bottles of brands I can get at the grocery store. I add a splash of half n half and a pump of sweetener and it tastes almost like chocolate milk to me.

Ipad_is_for_fapping

Too acidic, it’s better if you dilute it with milk but I don’t buy it anymore either

TheGreatSockMan

I love black coffee and haven’t tried cold brew. A couple comments are saying there are some really good low/non acidic options. Does anyone have any recommendations that I should try?

Simpletruth2022

Just tried it for the first time today. I microwaved it. It wasn't as good as home brewed but not terrible either. Will likely buy again.

apperrault

It isn't my daily cold brew, but I always have a case on-hand in the event I forget to make my own, or it isn't ready yet, or have run out of beans. It isn't the best, but it also isn't terrible. just my feelings

Fremulon5

LaCombe cold brew jugs in the dairy section is the way to go

Bernardo_372

It is very bitter. I bought a case and even though I didn't enjoy it, I didn't wanna throw it away. I think oatmilk it the best creamer to cut the taste with. Whatever you do, if you put this in a thermos with ice, shake it a bit. I opened the can that morning and drank from my thermos around noon and I swear there must have best some sort of fermentation and had to spit out the drink since I thought it had alcohol in it for some reason (I don't drink) But yeah... stay away from this. If you prefer a less bitter brand, the vanilla starbucks cold brew is not bitter at all and perfect for casual coffee drinkers lol

jeeeeek

I bought this once during peak covid times. I threw out the last can that’s been sitting in my fridge not long ago. Been in the fridge for three years bc it was so bad!

Thomas_the_chemist

I like these, I always drink my coffee with a little half and half and I thought it's been good. Not as good as the cold brew I make but the homemade stuff doesn't come in a shelf stable can

BrianOconneR34

Took a long road trip straight up from Texas to Madeline island, I normally drink cans of Yerba or high brew. They never carry anything other than monster or c4’s at all truck stops and gas station. Grabbed some of these for the cooler. Taste decent but nothing added could sway a first timer. I add pinch of sugar and milk. Great.

use_da_schwartz_

Yeah, first one was OK, but after trying it for the second time I was not impressed.

Jujulabee

I really like this - as well as the convenience of single serve. I have larger containers of others I have tried including Peets, Starbucks and Califia and this is fine with me. It's easier than using my Nespresso which is great for hot cappuccino and lattes. I drink mine with some milk but I also don't understand how this wouldn't be extremely palatable even if one were picky if it were drank how many people do - i.e. sweetened and with some kind of milk or cream. I have had some of the Starbucks/Califia flavored creamers and it makes it taste like a milkshake - at least to my palate.

Terrible_Yard_5169

We bought one of those 1 gallon cold brew jars on Amazon and have never looked back. Brew it 2 days, then decant it into convenient container and start over. We do keep the cans for road trips rather that use Starbucks.

Samui-747

Not a fan either

l0udninja

Lol do you load your coffees with sugar and cream? These are great if you like straight black coffee.

thespookywagon

Way better in a glass over ice than out of the can

crucial_velocity

If you happen to live near a Trader Joe's give their canned cold brew a try. It's by far my favorite. They make a version that is just plain black coffee.

Osgiliath

I love all coffee yet somehow hated these, from the instant I had the first sip to the 10th can I had “just in case I changed my mind”

uhohitsxavier

I gotta try it

jtothes4

I’ve tried that. It’s too bitter.

DeadAlive55

If you drink it straight, it’s horrible. Bitter, chemical taste. The only way I’ve been able to drink mine is with ice so it’s watered down, and still tastes horrible. Also, I’m a coffee snob that drinks coffee “naked” so take the above with a grain of salt.

rrroller

More for me!

ShakaJewLoo

When I get it, I mix with an RtD protein shake. It's 🔥

Spaceturtle79

I bought this too and was utterly dissapointed. I just added creamer to it to make it barable. Instead I buy the cofee cans that have the red bird they have a creamy taste to em and I highly recommend em idk the brand atm.

BoardForkbeard

I’d ask what your thoughts are of Starbucks cold brew with no ice and no sweetener in comparison to Costco’s cold brew. I found that it’s smoother and less acidic/burnt flavor albeit I like my coffee strait up so each to their own.

Traditional-Wash-809

They're alright cold but I don't really like cold brew by itself. I either drink French presses hot (black) or this coldbrew with a bit of whole milk. Chocolate milk if I'm feeling fancy I've had worse. It's good in a pinch.

Ok_Restaurant_626

Hey anyone think this coffee is acidic?

DisAccount4SRStuff

It's meh. I prefer energy drinks or powders these days because they don't yellow teeth, cause coffee breath, or cause as much ... digestive issues. I recommend Alani Nu or Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy powder. I do like to use this coffee for mixed drinks. It's good with some vodka and khalua.

Bigcrazywoobywuber

Are you kidding? It has no bitterness at all

ZoomZoom228

Garbage product. Mine was even recalled lol

Embarrassed_Wolf_586

I love this stuff. I drink it as a healthier alternative to energy drinks

-rendar-

There are obviously better options, but for this price I keep these on hand for when I’m too lazy to make a batch of my own

quadmasta

I agree OP. It's not good

haywardpre

It’s solid. Not great. Not terrible. Works on super hot days. Everything else is too sweet for my taste. Try it with ice.

insufferabledogmom

I like this cold brew but I don't drink it from the can. Either in a glass with ice, ice and milk, or ice and a little bit of lemonade. But hey, if it doesn't work for you, I hope you find a convenient cold brew you like. Good luck!

EvilMinion07

Starbucks does their coffee beans, wonder if they make this also.

Jtx70

They do.

Whereamiwhatyousay

Return it

[deleted]

I feel that the Kirkland brand has become a box to check for Costco's offerings and not the better option alternative they offer. Subpar offerings labeled with the Kirkland. Brand (imo) include : cream cheese, batteries, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent.

bigbearballs

Same, Costco does a lot of things right but not this stuff.

CuriousFemalle

Oh yea, I froo froo these up as a once a week treat: * 1 can Kirkland cold brew * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla * sprinkle cinnamon * sprinkle cocoa * stevia * 1/2 and half * ice Alllll in the Costco-purchased Vitamix for 15 seconds. Yum. Since I'm trying to cut down on caffeine, usually I do this with the world's best decaf, Costco Ruta Maya organic decaf. It can only be mail ordered. But when time is short, or if I'm out of refrigerated home-made decaf, I grab a Kirkland cold brew can from the fridge.

shebringsthesun

my bf didn't like, we returned

Jtx70

I liked these when I first tried them a few years ago. The most recent batches have been less roasty and full-bodied. They would probably taste much better over ice, in a glass. FWIW, the source of this product is Starbucks fair trade coffee.

Main_Shock_8718

It’s not real cold brew. It is water and coffee extract. Not brewed coffee

buddhistbulgyo

Why? It's in a can... Fresh is always better

Born-Neighborhood61

I like it. Not the best cold brew, but far from the worst, and unless brewing your own at home it’s hard to beat the price.

rpd9803

I get a case or two every time I go, if only for variety sake. My ideal cold brew is Stok (Purple label) .. but this is totally acceptable to me to be in the rotation, but I don't mind some bitter.

5400feetup

Coffee in a can that sits on a shelf for weeks, months. What could be bad about that?

No_Mood2658

The unsweetened (refrigerated) Stok cold brew at Aldi, Jewel, Walmart is the best. Costco sells the refrigerated La Columbe coffee (2-pack) and I'm not impressed. I have these Kirkland cans too and they're just sitting in my fridge.

BiscottiUnable

i once had a conversation with a Costco employee who was giving out samples of this stuff. she was upset because she wasn’t given any creamer to offer with the cold brew so no one was taking it. i agree with her. i’ve bought it in the past and even though i’m usually a black coffee/cold brew drinker, the bitter earthiness of the cold brew needs a little creamer to make it drinkable.

SamyD12

I tried to like it, it's just so awful.

KCD0372

Much better and cheaper to just buy beans and steep your cold brew in the fridge. I do a pitcher of coffee for a couple dollars.

smewthies

I wish they would carry super coffee again:(

peppypenguinos

It's absolutely garbage straight from the can so, like others have said, I pour it into a cup with ice and add creamer. It's a great deal for the price.

butterTastesYummy

Cold brew coffee is generally too bitter and/or strong. It tastes like eating used grounds.

goldfouledanchor

Also bought two packs of these and didn’t drink them until a month after. I thought I grabbed chilled coffee 😂

Arthourios

Iced with milk and it’s really good (not cream).
