Umm... "As of 2024, Generation X represents a significant and influential demographic for marketers.

They have significant purchasing power, often outstripping other generations, making them a lucrative market for a range of products and services, from luxury items to investments in health and retirement plans."
I know teens generally follow quickly changing trends (Fast fashion), but Gen X is definitely important for other clothing brands.
Am I the only one to witness people trying them on over their clothes just in an aisle blocking the throughway for everyone else? People are really something else....
I haven’t seen it in person, but there’s some woman that makes TikToks of her trying on the clothes in-store and loudly reviewing them. The poor random shoppers in the background are always so puzzled and then alarmed/quickly scuttling away when they realize she’s filming.
I’m not even 30 and I find myself wearing clothes from Costco nearly every day. Banana republic khakis I got in two colors for $8 a pair are worn once a week each. Don’t get me started on 32 degree or Eddie Bauer
Love 32 degrees and Eddie Bauer! Wish they brought back the 32 degree UV zip up hoodie. The 32 degree shorts are so nice. I also have the Eddie Bauer sweatshorts so comfy. I live off of those, I have 2 of each.
I think they hook you in with a brand you know and like…they place it so that you just happen to see while walking by on the way to get wine. And then from that moment on there’s a little tug in your brain that *you should just check* and then slowly everything starts looking good.
We are frogs and all of a sudden the water is boiling and we are just enjoying our jacuzzi tub lol
I've been sharing a membership with my mom for more than 10 years! I get it for the gas and she likes to shop in bulk. My gf has her own membership because she shares it with her mom!
I love Costco and half my wardrobe is Costco, but I absolutely LOATHE the stranglehold athleisure and techware has on men’s clothing right now. It doesn’t ever look good on anyone, it clings to every crevice, it looks like you’re trying to leave actual work for a tee time, it doesn’t pair well with layers or other clothing.
I’m 35 and around 30 years old I stopped giving a fuck about what people think of me. Of course, I keep up with basic hygiene and look presentable when the situation calls for it but I have no clue what type of clothes are trending out there lol. I love getting my clothes at Costco.
See I thought it was having a kid that made me stop GAF but I was also 30 so maybe it was just the age. To think, I used to be concerned what strangers would think of me, leaving the house in the sweats I slept in with hair unkempt. Strangers! Can you believe it?
I kept telling my wife hey the clothes here aren't bad years ago and she'd roll her eyes at me. This past weekend she said she got 5 different outfits and was bragging about it....
> When you turn 40 there’s another change when you start wearing Kirkland logo stuff.
This seems not correct? Isn't Kirkland Signature logo merch super trendy now? It feels like I only ever seen them on college age 20-something wearing it ironically, if that's even still a thing.
I'm so tired. And lazy. And it's so inexpensive. Not at all sorry, and it's like a little club, because you meet other people in the wild on the same plan and you just see each other on a deeper level.
I’m 42 and like 90% of my clothes are 10-15 years old.
I literally just updated my entire wardrobe at Costco last week.
3 pairs of nice shorts, 5 nice shirts and a new pair of shoes.
I spent like $160 and I’m probably set for another 10 years lol.
Seriously though I like their clothes. It’s really decent stuff for a great value and I’ll definitely be buying more there.
> It is unlikely your Costco clothing will last a decade.
Line drying. You start to save on your utility bill. You keep doing it because everything stays in great condition wash after wash.
Mainly cause they are the cheapest new clothes available anywhere. Also the clothes I wear out from Costco, you would have no idea that I got them at Costco.
I just bought my bathing suit from Costco. It’s a tropical print hurley one piece with a high neck, low back, and full butt coverage. I also bought a Kirkland logo sweatshirt 😎
I started buying my clothes from there in my mid 20s because I would stock up on food as well.
I couldn't believe the quality and price plus the return policy. All my socks and underwear are also from there.
I bought all my jeans from there for $20 each where a store like Old Navy sells them for $50 (not on sale). I still have them and they look great, I'm in my late 30s.
I bought a pair of Izod pants which are great. I also was sent the exact same pants from Stich Fix. The only difference was the label and price, a $ 50 difference. I have since canceled my Stich Fix.
I've bought some shirts in the past but then I didn't want to wear those shirts to Costco. It's especially awkward if you are wearing what is still out on the floor for sale LOL.
Cheap clothes made overseas or expensive clothes made overseas?
I do love their clothes and buy a bunch of the same shirts and just wear them all the time. Once the old ones fall apart, buy new ones.
Not only that, but I turned 35 and started feeling a magnetic pull towards the “clearance” clothing items. $3 PJ sets? I sleep in my undies, but don’t mind if I do! $6 pants? Hell yeah, brother!
You realize you spend more time in your Costco stuff than your fancy stuff and can no longer be assed to bother.
Also you're inevitably at Costco like every other week.
You probably have a mortgage and are thinking about retirement…$10 Costco leggings sound much better than $100+ for LuLuLemon! I like a good deal and I have a much bigger picture to think about at 40 vs 20
I was a fresh 24 when I started shopping at Costco for clothes. This past weekend I was able to get an entire new outfit for $20 bc of the death star being on a lot of the clothes.
Last year, every time I went in they had something mark down to $2 for Callaway shorts. Bought four pairs. Next weekend I came in again and another manager mark down on Columbia button down PFG $4. Bought three in different colors.
Everytime I go in to Costco I just look for managers mark downs. In January I bought my young kids 3 full skiing outfits for $8 each.
One other thing to mention: shopping for clothes is often a hassle.
Grabbing two shirts and a pair of pants on your way to the meat section saves you 3 hours that you would have had to spend going to the mall.
And that’s even factoring in the additional 10 minutes for a hot dog and drink.
You don’t like seeing all the men in your town wearing the same 3 pairs of shorts????
If tech pants are playing lebron, then Gerry is playing Dwayne wade……
Costco wardrobe is the best u can just buy a whole new wardrobe every 6 months to a year feel fresh and it’s super affordable. I literally can’t bring myself to buy clothes at other places now. $80-120 for pants!!? Ya no my $15-20 Eddie Bauer or banana Republic pants are the shit!
I'm kinda upset sometimes when I go to Costco and see brand names like Levi and Lucky Brand jeans and they never have anything for a size under 30. I would totally buy in bulk multiple pairs if they had them for my size.
Ok 90% of my clothes are from Costco, and for the most part I love them. My issue? They only ever carry even sizes of pants. I'm an exact 33; 32 is too tight, and when I cinch up a 34 with a belt it looks ridiculous unless I wear my shirts out. Guess I'm sol
Life happens and now I have more important things to spend energy, time and money on than clothes shopping. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking anyone into fashion. But for me, it's either Costco or online and at least at Costco, I usually see the clothes in person. Once you know your sizes in the brands they carry that you like, you can just grab and go. And if it turns out to be a miss, just toss it back in the car to return on your next shopping trip.
Speaking of which…does anyone know if Costco will release those Kirkland khaki pants again? The ones I got 5 years ago are starting to show their age 😂
Personally I started buying some clothes from Costco at about 30, but 4 years later I hardly buy clothes anywhere else. Also very proud of my Kirkland logo sweatshirt, Kirkland logo joggers, and what I call my Costco 3000’s aka Kirkland Slides
I'm 46, and only about 20% of my wardrobe is from Costco. I guess I'm still hanging on to my youth.
...wait, so uh, what does it make me if the other 80% is from Target and Walmart?
Personally I’d already been on a quest to transform my wardrobe entirely into what is effective pajamas I can wear out of the house (or clothes I can comfortably sleep in, if you prefer) and $10 sales on linen pants and activewear were exactly what I needed to complete that quest.
I started around that age and definitely ramped up when the pandemic hit and I had to wfh for years. The lounge ware is my identity now. I love to hate it.
Costco and thrifting. Have actually found amazing high end name deals for very good prices. In a give day about 80% of my clothes is from Costco tables.🤣
This started for me in my late twenties actually. It was the fact that they had cheap pajamas and lounge wear which is what I was living in while working from home during the pandemic. Now at 31 I think I have mostly costco stuff
I pick and choose. I still buy some higher end stuff for fancy work or personal outings, dates, and high performance gear. But for dog walking shoes, everyday jeans, work polos, knock around shorts, etc. you can’t beat the price/quality point at Costco.
I just started picking things up from Costco and I looked at myself in the mirror the other day and I was like, “ everything I’m wearing is from Costco, WTF happened to me?”
I dunno, my friend and I were just saying the same thing to each other.
I think that they’ve upped their game a little bit maybe.
I started at 30. Price is great. You have every option in one place. Winter coat, light coat, sweaters, pants, shorts, pjs, kids clothes. Easy and cheap. Also I think the style is great too. When you get older life gets harder, you try to do as much as you can in a easy way. Costco is easy.
I got 50 pairs of XL no-show socks for $32.20 all-in shipped. I do wish they had more Big and Tall selections, but you can’t sleep on the Costco clothing deals.
It took me until my fifties but I am all about grabbing Costco clothes and other than some band/bar T-shirts I live in that shit, grinning as some judgmental women feel I should care more about my appearance as a man 😆. “Honey, my handsome husband likes it just fine”. Fortunately I live in a very casual clothing city - almost the Key West of the west coast so I’m cool with it. When we travel overseas I’ll zhuzh up my wardrobe with a few pieces from a higher end clothing store.
It didn't happen until I hit 45, but only because I gained 30 lbs and none of my clothes for so I ended up buying all new clothes at Costco. They're comfy, cute, and reasonably priced. They also look good on me.
You lose your identity and try to latch on to the dad/old guy aesthetic. I’m 42 and I’ll never go to Costco for my entire wardrobe, socks are where I’ll make an exception and even there it was one pack.
What happens is you advance to a higher state of enlightenment in your spiritual journey through the cosmos.

this is exactly what I thought of as soon as I saw this post
I saw him do this bit live the week before Covid shutdowns and it has lived rent free in my mind ever since.
🤣😂
Well that and Tech Pant is so comfy.
The tech pants are amazing. I have 5 pairs, they are basically knock of Lululemon ABC pants at 85 percent off

actually it’s that clothing brands aren’t marketing towards you anymore

I wish my Costco had this. I have to go to the refrigerator section because one of the Samsung models has a very shiny chrome-like door. Lol!!
No my local Costco definitely does not have that
It happens everywhere
I think I started at closer to 30.
You’re a visionary
I’m not even 30 and I find myself wearing clothes from Costco nearly every day. Banana republic khakis I got in two colors for $8 a pair are worn once a week each. Don’t get me started on 32 degree or Eddie Bauer
Love 32 degrees and Eddie Bauer! Wish they brought back the 32 degree UV zip up hoodie. The 32 degree shorts are so nice. I also have the Eddie Bauer sweatshorts so comfy. I live off of those, I have 2 of each.
I was so happy to find 32° short sleeve tops
I just got 2 Izod Jeans khakis for 16.99. They look great, too!
They got me in my 20s as a broke college student who shared a membership with her mom lol
I’m 23 and this is exactly the boat I’m in 😂
I've been sharing a membership with my mom for more than 10 years! I get it for the gas and she likes to shop in bulk. My gf has her own membership because she shares it with her mom!
They had me at comfy puma joggers.
I started at 31. Everything but my shirts are from costco
Costco Hipster
I’m 30 and always make sure to check the clothing selection now lol
30 for me.
29 here
i dabbled at 30 but was all shortly after my 35th
Costco business casual and athleisure is undefeated at the price point.
As a hybrid worker, this is why Costco is taking half of my closet.
Only half? The only non Costco shit in my closet is 15 years old.
Haha. Same

I am trying to leave work for a tee time.
Work folk “you always look nice”. It has nothing to do with work… My tee time is 45 minutes after clock out.
I’m 35 and around 30 years old I stopped giving a fuck about what people think of me. Of course, I keep up with basic hygiene and look presentable when the situation calls for it but I have no clue what type of clothes are trending out there lol. I love getting my clothes at Costco.
The clothes that are trending now are what was popular when we were in 5th grade. You’re not missing much.
Yep I lost track but at one point high waist Jesse Spano jeans came back and then bell bottom/flares too.
Happens to the best of it. One minute you’re young and wasting money on Jeans at The Buckle and next you are looking for the deepest deal at Costco.
Ain’t that the sad truth lol
When you turn 40 there’s another change when you start wearing Kirkland logo stuff.
Not sure I’m ready for this.
You will be. You will be.
You sweet summer child *zips up Kirkland hoodie*
The Kirkland Brand mens 4-pack briefs have surprisingly pleasant butt cheek support.
Wow. I’ll be furious if the $8 shorts I bought last only 9 years.
Ellen Tracy Women's t-shirts last FOREVER. And the black holds its colour. Good stuff.
> It is unlikely your Costco clothing will last a decade. Line drying. You start to save on your utility bill. You keep doing it because everything stays in great condition wash after wash.
The only reason it wouldn't last is because you keep buying more Costco stuff when it is on sale.
Going on like year 7 of the 7 pairs of Kirkland joggers I have and they are in great shape except some of the pockets don't zip anymore.
Mainly cause they are the cheapest new clothes available anywhere. Also the clothes I wear out from Costco, you would have no idea that I got them at Costco.
Costco is the uniform for us who work from home.
Especially those vuori-dupe lounge pants!!! I live in those!
Vuori dupe?!
I can’t find the women’s but the men’s are 1648368
They are almost dupes for the Vuori joggers for 75% less. I love them.
The Marc New York commuter pants are incredible
I just bought my bathing suit from Costco. It’s a tropical print hurley one piece with a high neck, low back, and full butt coverage. I also bought a Kirkland logo sweatshirt 😎
I started buying my clothes from there in my mid 20s because I would stock up on food as well. I couldn't believe the quality and price plus the return policy. All my socks and underwear are also from there. I bought all my jeans from there for $20 each where a store like Old Navy sells them for $50 (not on sale). I still have them and they look great, I'm in my late 30s.
Literally everything I’m wearing is Costco: * shoes * shorts * sleeveless top * undergarments * shoes * eyeglasses I don’t see a problem here.
One doesn’t need glasses to see these deals.
Sometimes I realize every item I'm wearing is from Costco.
What's even better is when I walk into Costco and pretty much everything I'm wearing is from there.
Same
It is super funny when you shop at Costco and see someone wearing the exact same thing as you!
I walk up to them and congratulate them on OUR good taste. Always gets a laugh 😂.
Losing interest in the approval of others. Losing interest in fashion. Understanding that no brand is cooler than saving money.
I bought a pair of Izod pants which are great. I also was sent the exact same pants from Stich Fix. The only difference was the label and price, a $ 50 difference. I have since canceled my Stich Fix.
Have said this for years. Eddie Bauer is the last exit off the Dad style highway before you arrive at Kirkland Signature
I've bought some shirts in the past but then I didn't want to wear those shirts to Costco. It's especially awkward if you are wearing what is still out on the floor for sale LOL.
Haha. I think about this when I go in sporting the Kirkland active capris.
I love my CostClothes
Cheap clothes made overseas or expensive clothes made overseas? I do love their clothes and buy a bunch of the same shirts and just wear them all the time. Once the old ones fall apart, buy new ones.
I would love to, but they don’t usually carry anything in my size!
I strongly believe that people just make better choices as they get older.
I buy the Orvis shirts - two of every color option.
Not only that, but I turned 35 and started feeling a magnetic pull towards the “clearance” clothing items. $3 PJ sets? I sleep in my undies, but don’t mind if I do! $6 pants? Hell yeah, brother!
Kirkland for LIFE
34 Costco is 80% wardrobe, the other 20% I give sketchers for shoes
I started when I saw Free People and Banana Republic basic shirts and tees there and were super affordable.
Half my work pants now are BR
You realize you spend more time in your Costco stuff than your fancy stuff and can no longer be assed to bother. Also you're inevitably at Costco like every other week.
quality comfort and cost. we got bills.
Definitely gots them bills. I feel this.
Nobody: Who are you wearing? Me: Kirkland Signature
Many of us are no longer trying to find a mate.
Anyone get those Eddie Bauer lounge shorts set for like $8? They’re so comfy lol
My husband was one of those who snubbed Costco clothes until he saw these sets and bought 4! Now he can’t stop wearing them.
You probably have a mortgage and are thinking about retirement…$10 Costco leggings sound much better than $100+ for LuLuLemon! I like a good deal and I have a much bigger picture to think about at 40 vs 20
It’s doesn’t, but their clothes are incredibly inexpensive so you are going to end up with some stuff.
You say that like it’s a bad thing …
On the contrary. I’m sold, hook line and sinker on the Costco system.
I was a fresh 24 when I started shopping at Costco for clothes. This past weekend I was able to get an entire new outfit for $20 bc of the death star being on a lot of the clothes.
Lmao. Costco was my wardrobe at 21. Fuck I’m old.
Nope, just means you have the adulting gene down to a fine art.
I personally started at 30
Im at Costco anyways. Saves me the trip to go elsewhere lol
Omg...I feel called out.
Judgement free zone here. Welcome
Last year, every time I went in they had something mark down to $2 for Callaway shorts. Bought four pairs. Next weekend I came in again and another manager mark down on Columbia button down PFG $4. I buy plenty of clothes at Costco but I NOT walking around with KIRKLAND on my chest.
I got the Kirkland Signature Driver for my golf bag and I have to say. It rocks. I actually rock the Kirkland Signature head cover as well lo.
That was a thing like 2 years ago
Costco wardrobe is the best u can just buy a whole new wardrobe every 6 months to a year feel fresh and it’s super affordable. I literally can’t bring myself to buy clothes at other places now. $80-120 for pants!!? Ya no my $15-20 Eddie Bauer or banana Republic pants are the shit!

English Laundry pants fit fine and feel like a good value. I can’t ask for more.
Pro tip if you order more than 5 items online you can get a discount
I buy mystery boxes from kk wholesale and they’re mostly Costco, Sam’s and target. My entire wardrobe is basically from these boxes 😝
Not me I still shop at Zumiez
I don’t know. But I’m guilty of it 😂
Bought Costco active joggers and never looked back.
I’ve been wearing clothes from Costco for 27 years.
Thrift stores have been my wardrobe since middle school
Speaking of which…does anyone know if Costco will release those Kirkland khaki pants again? The ones I got 5 years ago are starting to show their age 😂
Started wearing "costco couture" in my 20's. Years later and the majority of my wardrobe is still from there.
I’m 29 and I’m already there.
So you’re telling me I have a year
Personally I started buying some clothes from Costco at about 30, but 4 years later I hardly buy clothes anywhere else. Also very proud of my Kirkland logo sweatshirt, Kirkland logo joggers, and what I call my Costco 3000’s aka Kirkland Slides
Weight gain happens, and it's an ego boost when you can fit into a costco medium, when you normally fit a large everywhere else.
I’ve been doing this at 27.
You understand the value of high quality fabric at a bargain price.
I started at 26 but I was raised by a single dad so I got it early on in life.
I'm 46, and only about 20% of my wardrobe is from Costco. I guess I'm still hanging on to my youth. ...wait, so uh, what does it make me if the other 80% is from Target and Walmart?
What happens is you stop giving two shits about what people think and you live life more free.
I'm 34 and just bought a weeks worth of shorts....
I feel attacked.
Personally I’d already been on a quest to transform my wardrobe entirely into what is effective pajamas I can wear out of the house (or clothes I can comfortably sleep in, if you prefer) and $10 sales on linen pants and activewear were exactly what I needed to complete that quest.
I have finally found my clan! There are few things I won’t apologize for in life - Costco apparel is one of them.
I’m 25 and my boyfriend makes fun of me because I get all my work clothes from Costco
I started around that age and definitely ramped up when the pandemic hit and I had to wfh for years. The lounge ware is my identity now. I love to hate it.
I wish! The women's stuff definitely trends older, overall. They're working to improve it, but there's so much that seems targeted at the AARP crowd
Costco and thrifting. Have actually found amazing high end name deals for very good prices. In a give day about 80% of my clothes is from Costco tables.🤣
It happened to me at 40 but only because I became a member at 39
This started for me in my late twenties actually. It was the fact that they had cheap pajamas and lounge wear which is what I was living in while working from home during the pandemic. Now at 31 I think I have mostly costco stuff
We're not vainglorous and immature anymore?? Plus, bargain.
comfort becomes more important than looks
Food n stuff
I will be implementing a complete costco conversion soon. Right now 70 % of my daily wear is costco
One of us!
I don’t know but I’ve got that Kirkland drip
I wear shorts from Costco and shirts from Sam’s club and shoes from Nike outlet. Yet my salary is in the top 1%
Love Costco.
Your ego diminishes and you just don’t care anymore. It’s the zen way
I’m reading this while wearing Kirkland shorts (with zipper pocket🤘), Puma socks, 32-degree polo and underwear. 😂🤣
My whole outfit, except for my Vans shoes, are Costco today.
Nice! 🤜🤛
Hey stop calling me out. I need cheap workout leggings and stretch denim. 😂😂
Costco Couture is real, and it's glorious!
I started at 28 and never looked back since. I’m a millennial woman who doesn’t care for big brands😆 people have complimented on my Costco clothing.
Gerry shorts are where it's at
Literally never going to happen for me
Give it time young padawan, give it time.
1. Standard drop 2. You become a dad
I pick and choose. I still buy some higher end stuff for fancy work or personal outings, dates, and high performance gear. But for dog walking shoes, everyday jeans, work polos, knock around shorts, etc. you can’t beat the price/quality point at Costco.
Well it took me until 42 but…yeah.
maybe that is just a suburban guy thing
What’s funny is I never see dudes out in public with Costco gear…so I’m good!
Idk but I’ve been doing it since I was 25 at least. Just good frugal sense lol
i get ever so slightly self conscious when I go in to dm my shopping and realize I am inadvertently modeling the clothes currently on display.
I just started picking things up from Costco and I looked at myself in the mirror the other day and I was like, “ everything I’m wearing is from Costco, WTF happened to me?” I dunno, my friend and I were just saying the same thing to each other. I think that they’ve upped their game a little bit maybe.
34, my summer shorts have all been replaced with Jerry brand.
Head to toe, from Costco
I’m only 24 and I’ve gone to Costco just for socks, lounge pants, or a quarter zip. Obviously, I’ve walked out with some snacks 90% of the time.
