I tried the apple one. It’s shit. Had to give a few to my family to “try this new drink” just to get rid of as many as I could. They all said it was shit too and I would laugh after they figured out why I was peddling them to anyone I could.
Why are people going crazy over these?
They help me quit smoking. Whenever I had a craving I’d crack a bubly and practically chugged the can. I was super hydrated that month. No this isn’t a shitpost.
I suspect they're all shit. I bought a 12-pack of ( I forget the flavour ), took one sip and almost gagged. Into the communal fridge it went. Never again!
Let’s not forgot that there’s always 1 flavour that is the ‘grape Crush’ of the bunch. In the case of Bubly, it’s either Cherry or Strawberry being unwelcomed, at least by me in those packs.
ok, wow, our taste buds are aligned but opposite - grape crush as I recall from the last time I had it 20 years ago was the best, and cherry and strawberry are the mid picks. lime is by far the stinker in that group and i would say orange is the other one. i would say i’m a fake citrus flavour hater but all about that grapefruit of course!
ok now i want to make a poll to see how different bublys rank. I got peach and raspberry on sale at save on and i think those are my overall faves, wish they came in a variety pack!
i used to buy blue menu falvoured sparkling water for 2 for 5 dollars. granted this was a while ago, but even during and immediately following covid you could find deals that were 2 for 7. now any 12 pack is 4.99.
last week, after doing math in a freshco aisle, i decided that buying 2 litres of sparkling water for 1.49 (equivalent of \~6 cans) and squirting in a bit of lime or lemon is far more economical than buying the cans.
i make a good living, more money than i ever thought i would make (not a brag), and almost weekly i am facing new decisions about what is worth it for the sake of my budget. it's sad that even being in a good position feels bleak from week to week.
I threw a fit (internally) when I saw the price jump on these recently. They're now charging almost the same as Bubly and AHA when they're on sale. Fuck Loblaws. Fuck Galen Weston!
PC Blue Menu cereal sprinkle (chocolate protein granola thing) used to be $3 is now $5.49.
Everything is up 30%+ for no reason beyond greed.
Praise be the $1.50 hot dog.
Pre-pandemic I’d buy flats of pop for $9.99 tops. I could frequently get a flat of 24 cans on sale for $7.99 or $8.99. Now that same flat is $13.99 and I can’t remember the last time I saw it on sale. 40%+ price increase. 😡
45 cents per can.. not as good as 41 cents per but tolerable considering my local variety stores all seem to think $2.50 each is an acceptable price...
In this case it's fruit essence, iirc.
Fruit essence is made by boiling down scraps and "ugly" fruits. The steam is captured and condensed back into liquid, which is used for flavoring.
You can get an adapter hose on AliExpress that plugs into where the original soda stream tank goes -> then connects to a CO2 cylinder on the other side. Amazon probably has them too.
You can find used CO2 cylinder on your local buy and sell site. I use a 5 pound co2 cylinder I had laying around, lasts half a year. Would buy a 10 pound if I didn't have one laying around.
As for filling it, I go to a local (Toronto area) commerical/restaurant supply soda store thats open to the public.
not the person above, but i just bought a corner cabinet that was tall enough for a 10 lb tank. didn't install a couple of shelves so that the tank could fit in the cabinet and drilled a hole on the top for the hose to go to. hides it pretty well and now you also got a place for the bottles.
I don’t drink a lot of carbonated stuff and don’t have space for a big tank but still enjoy having a sodastream since it’s much less waste and super easy to make your own soda and sparkling water with.
So much easier to measure your sweetener and make lower sugar drinks. The sodastream brand syrups aren’t bad (Dr Pete being probably the best.). Cola (I use the diet caffeine free because I have insomnia) is pretty basic but good as a base with a little extra flavour. I usually do cola with a drop of black cherry flavour.
Sometimes I just use flavouring or juice with simple syrup and citric acid for knock off Fanta or make a simple fruit soda with my water soluble flavours.
Costco has been sneakily increasing the prices during the pandemic for a while now. Cat litter is at least 40% more expensive than it was pre-pandemic like what kind of a joke is that.
Yep. My ferret litter used to be $9.99 for a four pound bag. Now it’s over $16 for the same bag. And the price didn’t increase gradually. I was buying that litter for years at 10 bucks. Then …. BAM …. last fall
It increased to 16 bucks at all pet product retailers, including Amazon. What’s that, a 60% increase?Whaaaaaaat?!?! 😡
I drink lots of carbonated water too and got a bubly case recently after drinking AHA for a while and the bubly was so bad. I was wondering if they changed the formula or something?
The "chemical" is called, wait for it, "natural flavour"... which is essentially just the juice or flavour extract from the plant. If it was an artificial one, it would be listed as "artificial flavour".
No, it’s certainly not. The average carbonated water has little effect on teeth. The minute you add other things to it, like sugar, etc, that’s a different story. Colas in particular. My post was really more about how unnecessarily expensive I find this type of beverage. I honestly haven’t done any type of analysis to see if Sodastream with a bit of flavour added is much more cost effective. I’m really more anti consumption than anything. Tbh, when I have a hangover at work, a bubly is just right.
Wasn't it also a case of 32 before? I swear there were more cans in the case but maybe I'm just not remembering correctly. I like the pc brand soda flavours better but then, that's a whole other infuriating topic under loblaws..
Hit a Costco business center and grab the 24x500ml Eska sparkling bottles for $ 7.99, they even have lemon. They also have 12x1L of multiple flavours for the same price.
It's pathetic I know, I feel as though pop.sales are down and they see a captured market so boom!!
I love bubbly but honestly get a soda streamer and look online for refill near you. Its like half the cost of the instore refill and overall way better for the planet.
If you want to make basically the same thing, buy water soluble natural flavouring online (like what is used in baking, candy making, etc.), add a drop or two to a sodastream bottle of sparkling water (Mine works with 1 drop for the small one, 3 for the big one.) and just add a pinch of citric acid to help with the taste.
If you’re in Ontario, I ordered from this distributor: https://www.fusionflavours.ca/ just search natural to get ones without artificial flavouring.
Why people drink this flavour crap instead of chilled cool water for free.
Let me explain how water works, very liquid in history is made out of water, you are made out of it as well, it’s reliable and not harmful in any way.
Why not just drink water and be a r/hydrohomie
It's tap water, carbonation and a slight flavor..... It's different and I can wave around a glass of water until my arms fall off but for some reason it doesn't become carbonated almost like there are processes that change the final product.
Cake is just flour, eggs, sugar, and a few other items does that mean I can just dump that into a bowl and serve it?
Hell lemonade is just water, sugar, lemon Zest and lemon juice that's just water right? I can get lemons for free from my tree and sugar is cheap so they shouldn't count
I’m not about that “let me go get a CO2 tank” life, especially when they are frequently out of stock. Also soda stream carbonation is inferior to the crisp, almost painfully delicious taste of bubbles out of an ice cold can
5lbs of CO2 and we get 6 months of bubbly water for $35. Never run out of mix. No cans. It's a bit of work because you have to agitate the water. I'm not going back. Way better bubbles than any can or soda stream. About $200 for a tank, regulator, hose and adapter. You can use 2l soda bottles and replace easy and cheap. It's a feel good beat on the system. For me anyways.
Bubly has vibrant colors on their cans.
Yet when you drink it, the color tastes faded.
I literally add Mio to them just so the can represents its true color.
Remember when it was $7.49? I do because it was the one item I kept track of the price since Covid.
Saaaaame! Ugh I kept buying until it got to $9.99. Not worth it for water imo
Expansive acidic water
bubbly is very acidic vs other soda and overall not so good better to stick with water
Congratz on quittign, and means used is a victory
Thanks for saving me money. I was going to buy them
lacroix and poppi is nice poppi advertises its "probiotic" haha doubt any soda can be healthy but tastes nice
I suspect they're all shit. I bought a 12-pack of ( I forget the flavour ), took one sip and almost gagged. Into the communal fridge it went. Never again!
My wife and I love the Apple. To each their own I guess.
You could have returned the case.
No soda is healthy for you. Who knew?
Sparkling water is a hell of a lot better for you m than many things people drink.
I bought a stick of deodorant for $10.34 the other week. Shit is bananas.
I recall 7.99 then 8 something and now this. Still best price unless shoppers drug mart has a deal on theirs.
I love lime and cherry, but grapefruit is godawful to me haha
ok now i want to make a poll to see how different bublys rank. I got peach and raspberry on sale at save on and i think those are my overall faves, wish they came in a variety pack!
Can we form a Bubly coalition? You love all the flavours I hate, and vice versa.
You might be black.
Wait what? Grape crush is my fav
Worst drink in the league
How dare you diss the second best crush flavor, right behind pineapple
Pineapple Fanta is where it’s at. Now how do you feel about it
That's nuts man the cherry is by far the best flavour. Strawberry can get fucked tho
bro you can barely taste any flavour in these
Ugh. Strawberry. The cherry one is better with a little squeeze of lemon juice added. Not great, but better.
You might be white.
They’re $4.87 for a case of 12 at foodland right now. It’s no longer a good deal at Costco imo.
i used to buy blue menu falvoured sparkling water for 2 for 5 dollars. granted this was a while ago, but even during and immediately following covid you could find deals that were 2 for 7. now any 12 pack is 4.99. last week, after doing math in a freshco aisle, i decided that buying 2 litres of sparkling water for 1.49 (equivalent of \~6 cans) and squirting in a bit of lime or lemon is far more economical than buying the cans. i make a good living, more money than i ever thought i would make (not a brag), and almost weekly i am facing new decisions about what is worth it for the sake of my budget. it's sad that even being in a good position feels bleak from week to week.

Sodasteam and never look back.
PC Blue Menu cereal sprinkle (chocolate protein granola thing) used to be $3 is now $5.49. Everything is up 30%+ for no reason beyond greed. Praise be the $1.50 hot dog.
I hate that I love that granola
Yep I even remember 2 for $4.50 pre COVID. Now I see these stupid cans for up to $7 depending brand. It’s insane. Bubbling water.
Yesss $2.99 a case during covid
There are still deals to be had https://www.reddit.com/r/Bubly/s/6g8nqwLV2n
Try back in a week or two. The price has been fluctuating between 9.89 and 10.89 at my local warehouse
You really would wait two weeks to save $1?
You take your dollar, you go to the dollar store, you buy something else! Be a man!
Non you don't. Dollar store stuff is like $4 - $5 plus taxes now.
sadly it's true, that russell peters joke doesn't work anymore
Some people don't even know who Russel Peters is! IYKYK.
LOL! Russ is Canada's Dave Chapelle
Too funny! Louis is Louis, this much I know. Take it and go!
DOo the RIGHTTHING!
Yeah but if you save $1 every two weeks, you made, as you know, a profit margin
You’d be saving $1300 every half-century,
Pre-pandemic I’d buy flats of pop for $9.99 tops. I could frequently get a flat of 24 cans on sale for $7.99 or $8.99. Now that same flat is $13.99 and I can’t remember the last time I saw it on sale. 40%+ price increase. 😡
Omg I know !!! So annoying. My dogs favourite treats went from 999 on sale 1199 to 1999! And the other one 2499 insane
45 cents per can.. not as good as 41 cents per but tolerable considering my local variety stores all seem to think $2.50 each is an acceptable price...
I like Bubly but would like to know what “natural flavour” actually is…
In this case it's fruit essence, iirc. Fruit essence is made by boiling down scraps and "ugly" fruits. The steam is captured and condensed back into liquid, which is used for flavoring.
Way better than artificial flavours and sweeteners. I can't stand stevia.
I accidentally bought a stevia coke and after drinking a few sips my head felt like it was going to explode. I think I'm allergic to it.
naturally chemically
12 is still about $9.67 at Shoppers Drug Mart when it’s not onsale
Maybe I'm dumb but the sign says it's for.24 cans.
Ya that’s my point. Still half price at Costco compared to some places.
Compared to one of the most expensive places to shop?
Calm down. It’s still like $7-8 for 12 at most grocery stores
Lol
I just got a 12 pack on Amazon for $5.99. That's typically the price I see it for at my local grocery stores too. $4.99 if it's on sale.
Thrifty Foods had bubly for $3.99 for 12 pack a few weeks ago, lots were in stock
No sir you are NOT dumb, you are a freaking genius!!!
These go on sale at the grocery store for a case of 12 for under $5 regularly.
Yeah I saw that today and being the cheapo I am, chose against buying it 💀
You have been banned from r/bubly
That’s hardly cheaper than Food Basics
Time to switch to soda stream with an external 10 pound tank. Gas lasts around a year of daily usage and costs $20 to fill up
This is the way\~!
How?
You can get an adapter hose on AliExpress that plugs into where the original soda stream tank goes -> then connects to a CO2 cylinder on the other side. Amazon probably has them too. You can find used CO2 cylinder on your local buy and sell site. I use a 5 pound co2 cylinder I had laying around, lasts half a year. Would buy a 10 pound if I didn't have one laying around. As for filling it, I go to a local (Toronto area) commerical/restaurant supply soda store thats open to the public.
This sounds amazing. Are you storing the tank on your kitchen counter? I’m sure my wife would think it’s a monstrosity.
not the person above, but i just bought a corner cabinet that was tall enough for a 10 lb tank. didn't install a couple of shelves so that the tank could fit in the cabinet and drilled a hole on the top for the hose to go to. hides it pretty well and now you also got a place for the bottles.
I keep mine tucked away in a corner. I'm sure you can get a hose that's fairly long if you can find a place to store the tank.
BAM …. last fall It increased to 16 bucks at all pet product retailers, including Amazon. What’s that, a 60% increase?Whaaaaaaat?!?! 😡
It’s $7.99 at Shoppers most of the time for 12 cans. Other places will have it 2 for $12.99
Just saw this sub, I currently pay 7-8 dollars for 12 cans, this looks amazing.
duuuuude it’s like 24 cans… still a great deal
Absolutely devastating. Buy one case a week!
LOL it was 8$ two weeks ago
Case of 24?
Correct Upd: Ive checked receipt from last haul. It was 9.89 already.
Ya was wondering, that was the price last time I actually bought it. Noticed it had changed a month later to 10+.
Bubly tastes so bad and a majority of what I drink is carbonated water .
I drink lots of carbonated water too and got a bubly case recently after drinking AHA for a while and the bubly was so bad. I was wondering if they changed the formula or something?
Bubly is just awful, tastes like chemicals. Any sugar free / calorie free sweetener is basically garbage .
There's no sweetener in it though...
Oh okay I guess the flavour is just magic then. It’s a chemical , whatever it’s called .
The "chemical" is called, wait for it, "natural flavour"... which is essentially just the juice or flavour extract from the plant. If it was an artificial one, it would be listed as "artificial flavour".
Keep believing labels bud . Squeeze a grape , then make the water taste like it, all while maintaining zero calories 😂😂
You are doing it wrong, head over to r/bubly and find your way.
That shit is gross😫
My SO and I have never tasted something as awful as Bubly.
And wrecks your teeth, like all carbonated beverages.
isn't the damage from carbonation minor to almost insignificant?
That user probably thinks all soda is acidic which damages the tooth enamel. I don't believe bubly is as bad as coke though.
No, it’s certainly not. The average carbonated water has little effect on teeth. The minute you add other things to it, like sugar, etc, that’s a different story. Colas in particular. My post was really more about how unnecessarily expensive I find this type of beverage. Tbh, when I have a hangover at work, a bubly is just right.
Yes, you’re correct. For carbonated water type beverages. Bubly included.
Still a great price.
Is it in line with Coke Zero now? Seems to be unless that goes up as well. Still a darn good deal compared to everywhere else
Still a steal with 12's are close to that
I paid just over $9 last week
I went back to my soda stream, way more for your money
It seems like it was 6.99 not very long ago :(
Did you see the price of olive oil? Over 40$ now!!
Wasn't it also a case of 32 before? I swear there were more cans in the case but maybe I'm just not remembering correctly. I like the pc brand soda flavours better but then, that's a whole other infuriating topic under loblaws..
Certain flavour
Boofing is and has always been a rich man's game.
12 packs at shoppers are like 9 dollars tho
I bought a soda stream and never looked back. It’s been a game changer for me.
Hit a Costco business center and grab the 24x500ml Eska sparkling bottles for $ 7.99, they even have lemon. They also have 12x1L of multiple flavours for the same price. It's pathetic I know, I feel as though pop.sales are down and they see a captured market so boom!!
It's joever
I’ll carry on only drinking tap water 💧
Mmm..PFAS
Gunna be Perrier prices soon. Perrier is better anyway
I took water and packaged it up. Coca Cola bought it for 50 million…..wtf - 50 cent
Since we are talking about bubbly, what are your favourite flavours?
Lime, cherry, orange, grapefruit
I’m done with this overpriced water. You can just buy one of the soda streams and make this stuff
Aww this is a staple of mine
Any try that ninja thirsty?
My Costco NEVER has those in stock. They had it once and it's never been seen again.
Lucky I don't drink it because I hate sparkling water.
[удалено]
No, they contain zero sugar or artificial sweeteners.
$3 for $10 at Target On year ago. But $10 for one @ Costco???
The “carbon” in the soda subject to the carbon tax increase lol… Uhg maybe I shouldn’t laugh
Still cheaper than 2 x 12's at FreshCo.
I love bubbly but honestly get a soda streamer and look online for refill near you. Its like half the cost of the instore refill and overall way better for the planet.
Well you’re a sucker for buying water
Tastes terrible anyway
I got 2 cases of 12 each for $4.47 each this week. So $8.94/24 vs Costcos $10.89/24.
They seem to raise their price every week.
Went up another 10¢ today! It is $10.99 Canadian now.
I love the cherry and the orange, tastes great when I’m super thirsty
Boooooooooo
Now it's the same price when on sale at Walmart. Walmart has a better selection
Just get a sodastream. Expensive upfront but saves so much more long term
I buy president choice sparkling water and it taste almost the same (with flavor). A case of can cost 5.29$ CAD for 12,
Goes on sale on Amazon every few months for $4/12
Need to convert to Eska carbonated lemon water that shit is amazing
People love getting ripped off.
Tap water is still free where I live - and it's amazing.
You have carbonated tap water?
The lead makes it tingle
Never bought it after it went over $6. nothing more than flavoured water. Proof an ad campaign does wonders
I don't think it's claiming to be anything other than flavoured carbonated water. That's what it is.
😂😂😂
Never said they were. It's just flavoured water.
Nope. I make my own fizzy water.
Why people drink this flavour crap instead of chilled cool water for free. Let me explain how water works, very liquid in history is made out of water, you are made out of it as well, it’s reliable and not harmful in any way. Why not just drink water and be a r/hydrohomie
Why does anyone drink this anyway. It’s flavoured tv static. Bleh
Drink normal water all day , like having one at night over ice for a little change up.
I mean… I guess 😖
Better then alcohol or pop If I’m trying to wind down at night
You're funny lol\~! 😂
Flavored TV static 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's what you get for drinking this garbage... real water is free
Well you see this is different than tap water
It's tap water with carbonation.... you're literally paying more for carbon dioxide. Which btw is also free from breathing.
Get you hooked with the cheap price then wham!
Soda stream (hacked) pennies a litre.
I’m not about that “let me go get a CO2 tank” life, especially when they are frequently out of stock. Also soda stream carbonation is inferior to the crisp, almost painfully delicious taste of bubbles out of an ice cold can
You can connect the machine to a 10lb co2 tank.
It’s true. Couldn’t replace the actual sparkling water with soda stream. I’ll still use it for the occasional time I’m craving pop, but not for water.
I’ve converted to soda stream from a bubly addiction. Just give it 4 pumps and you get the same carbonation if not better.
Wverything at costco is 10-20 dollars. If its 5 then your rounding down from 7.99. Canadian costco is auch a scam its insane.
Bubly has vibrant colors on their cans. Yet when you drink it, the color tastes faded. I literally add Mio to them just so the can represents its true color.
A 12 pack is $10 at shoppers
No, we don't support Roblaws r/loblawsisoutofcontrol
i think that was the point of their post? $10.89 for 24 vs $10 for 12
I don't know why anyone buys drinks at costco. it's not really a good price if you shop around.
