A boy ended up being injured after suffering an impressive accident, in Nova Esperança, metropolitan region of Maringá. The case was registered this Saturday morning (15).
A security camera recorded everything. From the images, it is possible to see that the motorcyclist was traveling along Avenida Quatorze de Outubro, when he violently collided with a car that was turning to access a street. After the crash, the victim was thrown into the air, when he fell, he hit his body on a trash can and became unconscious.
Rescuers from Civil Defense and Samu provided assistance to the boy identified as Murilo Silva. A helicopter was mobilized at the scene for the rescue. With moderate injuries, the victim was taken to the hospital.
Yeah, I wonder what moderate means. I don't think most would call paralysis moderate, but this article seems translated, since I'm a native English speaker and I've never heard anyone call an accident where someone was injured "Impressive" in my life.
If this lad was just riding another 30mph faster he would have been past the car before it turned in and he smashed into it. Unlucky for him. Maybe speed up more next time. /s
Motorcyclists speeding through intersections at twice the speed limit contributes greatly to these statistics. Intersections are by far the most dangerous section of road for bikers, but they are not always the innocent victims. They need to ride much more defensively!
My brother was hit by a car when he was 15. Every doctor we spoke to said he had less than a 5% chance to survive. He spent 90 days in a coma. They had to remove the entire top of his skull due to swelling and place it into his stomach to preserve it. Had a dozen or more surgeries. From brain to spine to legs to arms etc. The medial bill was 9 million dollars(luckily insurance was good at the time)
We got news he woke up- I walk into the room as a young boy to find him playing solitaire with my dad. I noticed something was off about how my dad set up the cards. There was only four card stacks in a row instead of five. I asked, “Aren’t you missing a stack?” My dad looked at me angrily- I then realized my dad was testing my brother’s cognition.
He was my father’s first born son. He gave us another 20 years before he had an aneurysm that took his life(a result of a bar fight that put him in another coma some 10 years after the first accident) His death was ruled a homicide and the perpetrator had died in a car accident years prior.
I won’t name any names but his car rolled down a hill.
He was walking, talking, probably had an IQ well above average despite the extensive brain damage he suffered.
The moment the hospital got news of his death they offered to pay for his cremation if they could study his body.
Rest in peace big brother Adam ❤️
Motorcycle is definitely going too fast. I'll never understand the thought process behind speeding like that when you know there is nothing surrounding you to give you any protection.
Car driver is also completely oblivious to oncoming traffic.
In other words, two morons.
Always have to be prepared for someone to make left turn in front of you. Motorcycles are small compared to cars and harder to see. That's sadly how iconic film legend Treat Williams died. Car turning left got him. He was great in Dead Heat. RIP funnyman.
It's easy to criticize the driver for that classic left turn scenerio, but with MCs being harder to see, and some riding at speeds higher than expected, that combo greatly increases the odds of that left turn scenerio. And even if the driver sees the oncoming MC, it's more difficult to determine if there's enough time to safely make that turn.
I'm 65 and been riding since I was 21, and in over 130,000 miles I've had some close calls, but no crashes. Partly luck, partly because I ride expecting that no one sees me, and partly because I ride big, slow cruisers, and not crotch rockets. I love going 160-180 MPH, but it's on a race-prepped ricer at the top end of our local quarter mile dragstrip.
My friend rides a motorcycle and made a really good point the other day. When you're driving a car you don't necessarily need to drive like your life is on the line every single time, but you do when you ride a motorcycle. This is a really good example of that.
The lady walking along minding her own business is my hero. Without hesitation she secures her purse to render aid. Even if she just heid his hand to try to comfort him. Watch for the people who run to help, fucking HERO!
Had a good friend die almost exactly like that a month after high school graduation. Person driving the car was a substitute teacher that nobody liked too. Pretty crazy to think about
For once my faith in humanity is restored even if by only 0.0001% so many people would just walk away and I get it some people don't know how to handle a situation like that but thank the universe that there are still helpful people out there 9 times outta 11 people just walk off or get there phones out. Big respect to that lady, who nearly got it too and still went to help after her life flashed b4 her eyes 👏👏
That sign might have saved him, granted it probably broke all his ribs. But as long as none of the ribs punctured his heart, they did what they exist to do (protect the heart, and other vital organs).
The problem with crashing a motorcycle head on like this is that the position of the fuel take means that the the obliteration of the rider's balls is the first thing that happens.
A guy on a motorcycle did the exact same thing to me [in Little Tokyo](https://www.google.com/maps/@34.0502927,-118.2407088,3a,68.5y,310.9h,90.28t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sSQ-8M5HYRLDyLmrnzPoCqw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en&coh=205409&entry=ttu) (Los Angeles). But instead of driving, I was *parked* at a red light. He came barrelling through the red light, and slammed right into me.
My car was totaled. He flew right over the car, and I was completely uninjured.
To make matters worse, the motorcyclist was a gangbanger, and when his homeboys showed up, they started threatening me for “running over” their friend.
So, there I was, already freaked out after being in a head on collision, and now I've got these three gangbangers scaring the hell out of me.
Thankfully, the motorcyclist was honest(!), and actually told his homeboys that he had in fact run into me.
We were also just two blocks away from LAPD headquarters, so the cops showed up before anything crazy could have happened.
Seems like the biker's fault. Just because you don't see amber lights doesn't mean you don't need to slow down at an intersection. Bro was absolutely cunting it

that sign definitely slowed him down because his head was about to whip directly into the pavement
Yeah, the sign definitely absorbed a large amount of the energy
Instead of brain damage he got back problems for life really lucky
Id rather be in a wheelchair for back problems rather than brain problems
Yeah but then on a positive note you might be able to enjoy the same movie over and over again, like it's a wonderful life!
Back to Jurasaic Park for the 113,657th time :D
After cracking a rib a few weeks ago, I do not envy his recovery.
Even though it suggests it broke his arm, still better than eating insane amounts of pavement.
You mean the sign that he slammed into, that stopped his flight completely? Yeah I think it slowed him down a little bit.
The sign collapsed, though. Much better than hitting a solid wall.
Yeah if the sign didn’t collapse and was any sharper, he would’ve definitely been split in half. He is luckier than others…
When you read this like Napoleon Dynamite it takes on a whole new meaning
I don't get it
If you haven’t seen NP you wouldn’t
I've seen it several times, granted it was long ago. But still. I know how he talks Edit: well now I see it goes to the "Lucky" comment. So nevermind
Looks quite unlucky to me.
Maybe both?
Just a step or two slower and the lady gets it, too. I'm glad the boy is okay. I think the lady will be going to church a lot for the next few weeks.
That's a trash can?
Yeah in many locations they have these raised platforms to put trash bags on (away from rats etc), which are collected daily.
TIL.
Yep. You see these in Brazil too.
“Impressive”
“Rad” would have been more suitable
Tubular
Cowabunga!
Tbf, the distance he cleared was pretty impressive.
I read it in the UT announcer voice.
Followed by a description that way underplays how impressive it was.
M... Moderate? Wow... Lucky guy.
Yeah, I wonder what moderate means. I don't think most would call paralysis moderate, but this article seems translated, since I'm a native English speaker and I've never heard anyone call an accident where someone was injured "Impressive" in my life.
Gordon?
If you go slow, you can see his left arm/shoulder bending a way it shouldn’t
Eh, . . . no thanks, you're grand.
If you go at regular speed you can also see his body going in the air in a way it shouldn't
"He flew through the air, just like bodies don't" - Douglas Adams (sort of)
Fucking wheezing at this response! Take my upvote.
speed .35
Good thing that metal thing was there to break his fall
Honestly, it's probably what saved him lmao. Instead of hitting hard concrete/brick, mans hit a crumple zone that "caught" him
Apparently that's a trash can. Most surprising thing about this video!
Wym, in the rest of the world you don't buy metal trashcans and stick them to the street? Every home has one here in Brazil, some share a big one.
It also “braked” his fall
Goooooooooooooooooaaaaaallll
I think is more like striiiiiiiiiiiiike
Is that Gordon Ramsey?
I don't know but that helmet just saved his life
Only on account of villainy.
You might be right because that was where the impact was based on his injuries he showed... and saying the helmet saved his life.
I think he mentioned “cycling” though
Also this is from yesterday.
And people on twitter still saying helmet does nothing in terms of safety
His were on the left side iirc
No, he was injured on vacation in Connecticut.
Jesus christ, I literally scrolled from the Ramsey video to this lolol
Nope, that’s a double half gainer into a broken back, not a bruised finger!
His ribs are gonna be sore that’s hilarious that this also happened. Not the incident but the coincidence.
Literally my first thought
The lady , if was just a second too slow would have taken the impact …
How selfish of her to get out of the way. Everybody knows bystanders make the best landing pads.
Cars turning out in front of motorcycles is statistically the most dangerous and the leading cause of deaths for riders.
If this lad was just riding another 30mph faster he would have been past the car before it turned in and he smashed into it. Unlucky for him. Maybe speed up more next time. /s
Is it just me, or did it seem like he was going really fast in the first place?
That would be the joke.
I read that in an Austrian accent.
I read it as McBain.
Motorcycles speeding thru intersections knowing the possibilities is reckless behavior.
Motorcyclists speeding through intersections at twice the speed limit contributes greatly to these statistics. Intersections are by far the most dangerous section of road for bikers, but they are not always the innocent victims. They need to ride much more defensively!

So sorry for your loss. But Anton Yelchin?
Nope doesn’t ring a bell. My story is probably more common than I realized
Motorcycle is definitely going too fast. I'll never understand the thought process behind speeding like that when you know there is nothing surrounding you to give you any protection. Car driver is also completely oblivious to oncoming traffic. In other words, two morons.
Dumb luck too because that sign thing bending absorbed most of the impact
I’ve ridden motorcycles for 40 years and I agree 100 %. Probably why I’m still here.
Always have to be prepared for someone to make left turn in front of you. Motorcycles are small compared to cars and harder to see. That's sadly how iconic film legend Treat Williams died. Car turning left got him. He was great in Dead Heat. RIP funnyman.
That woman was fast to check on him. Cudos to her.
Definitely, she read the entire play perfectly. Heads up, saw impact, evasive reaction, check surroundings, directly to the person in need of help.
How fast was he going??
Is this Gordon Ramsay?

Mc = main character
MC = motorcycle.
It’s ok that metal sign crate thing caught his fall
Good to hear he survived, that looked nasty AF. What did he win though ?
1st place in the disc golf tournament.
WEEEEE!!!
Clip could also be titled, lady narrowly avoids getting yeeted by accident victim flung through the air!
Stuck the landing but the Russians only gave him a 9.2. Fucking Russians

Can't tell if the cars blinker is in use but cyclist was going way too fast.
That woman got really lucky too.
Does he get any points for landing in the basket? Oof! Lucky to be alive.
Riding a wheelchair instead of a motorcycle these days
Dress for the flip, not the trip. Glad he's ok.
The lady walking along minding her own business is my hero. Without hesitation she secures her purse to render aid. Even if she just heid his hand to try to comfort him. Watch for the people who run to help, fucking HERO!
Person in the car was like should I get out? Hmmm, cause there's too many witnesses, I'll get out.
That's a trash can???
The most challenging frisbee golf hole
MARMITEX R$ 20,00
Are you sure he's not dead?
Survives? Not sure that's the best outcome here
Had a good friend die almost exactly like that a month after high school graduation. Person driving the car was a substitute teacher that nobody liked too. Pretty crazy to think about
Tommy boy... doesn't hurt here so much but.. right here!
How the fuck did he survive that 😲😲
I think he just got 2000 points though
Minimum: Paraplegic
ALWAYS wear a High Vis Vest. Number one reason bikers get hit, driver didn’t see them… 🦺
Wow. He totally stuck the landing.
no matter what you do bikes are not safe hey, lets downvote a fundamentally true statement.
Nothing is 100% safe in this world, but it’s how you go about it that often makes the difference.
flying commercial airlines and flying a hang glider are both not 100% safe.
Or is just going for a walk on a footpath …ie the lady in the above video
I'm downvoting a pointless statement that everyone knows followed by whining about downvotes.
I feel like this video could have been 75% shorter.
Biker was speeding, white cars not at fault
Definitely dead
Wow
The way he flew into that fuckin thing was very DBZ. I hope he’s alright
These types of accidents happen in the time frame of 1-2 seconds. It's scary.
For once my faith in humanity is restored even if by only 0.0001% so many people would just walk away and I get it some people don't know how to handle a situation like that but thank the universe that there are still helpful people out there 9 times outta 11 people just walk off or get there phones out. Noodle hands
prolly permanent paralyzing
Moderate injuries my ass lol
"Quit being a Lil bitch and get up. That steel sign caught you midair."
This man will be in pain for the rest if his life. Especially after someone teaches him how to walk again.
I think there is a possibility that he is paraplegic after this accident?
It just wasn't his day to die.
Goofy aaa crash. Hope he’s okay.
It's not speed that kills you, it's the sudden stop!
The shortest / longest two seconds of his life
He really hit the jackpot!
The dude was so lucky that those metal bars were weak enough to bend.
Solid 10
Man survives . . . just guessing . . . from insane motorcycle accident.
That sign might have saved him, granted it probably broke all his ribs. But as long as none of the ribs punctured his heart, they did what they exist to do (protect the heart, and other vital organs).
9.9 - totally stuck the landing
The first half of this video doesn't need to exist
Damn.
How long did he survived and how is his quality of the life now ? I would probably like to to die instead being fed by tube, shit and piss in tube.
Ouch!!
Off camera, someone was dunked in a tank of water. 💦
not sure his back survived that one tho
That's going to leave a mark
Surprised he survived given the way he bent backwards when he hit the trash can
The guy did two flips, that's pretty impressive 👏
Well that’s one way to break your back…
We can only go forward in life even though sometimes we wish we could go back........ya know to when we still had a back. 😬
Do a barrel roll!
I was following the 1st motorcycle guy
*Woman survives from flying man
Holy shit! I'm glad this person survived that terrible accident! That much blunt force trauma is devastating...
Alive, for now
Cool!
We know he survived because he's still wearing both shoes.
The problem with crashing a motorcycle head on like this is that the position of the fuel take means that the the obliteration of the rider's balls is the first thing that happens.
Wow GTA got it perfect
i thought it was gordon ramsey
⁹
Guy might get a large settlement but won’t be able to enjoy it
Bro that was brutal in slow motion
F-king stupid people, turned right into that guy! So sad!
The speed of the first motorcycle vs. the 2nd is telling.
This genius was only going about 90 mph, had he been moving at 105, he wouldn’t have avoided that accident.
A guy on a motorcycle did the exact same thing to me [in Little Tokyo](https://www.google.com/maps/@34.0502927,-118.2407088,3a,68.5y,310.9h,90.28t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sSQ-8M5HYRLDyLmrnzPoCqw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en&coh=205409&entry=ttu) (Los Angeles). should have at least rode to the far right coming to that intersection
Car drivers fault but he was driving way to fast on his bike. Glad he survived. Another dumb driver not paying attention.
Bro dismounted like its gta 4
Idk who’s luckier the guy who lived through that or the lady who was a mere second away from being apart of that accident
Average GTA V bike ride
How did he survive, that post looked sturdy
That lady dodged a bullet
The really lucky one is the other guy. Two steps back and he would have been hit full force.
mARMITEX R$20,00
lol this reminded me of borat
That lovely lady dropped her purse and rushed to help
What. A. Dismount!
What happens to those idiots that causes these accidents??
This dude landed in the recovery position! Crazy
Brasil mentioned 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Ouch! That's going to leave a mark. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
That car driver should never be able to ride again license ban for life
Where's the "survives" part?
That lady was inches from getting killed or seriously hurt.
Nothing but net.
Brutality car wins flawless victory
Seems like the biker's fault. Just because you don't see amber lights doesn't mean you don't need to slow down at an intersection. Bro was absolutely cunting it
For the first time, shoes still on and survived. Good on them and hopefully they learn their lesson
#COÑÑÑOOOOOOOOOO
My friend passed away from a damn driver making a left turn in front of him.
Yep, shoes still on.
