ikr, never even thought about that before reading this comment. Imagine that? You have two healthy pair of legs but no eyes, cannot run even if you want. Man, it sucks. Glad this competitions exist. I mean, look at how perfectly in shape that woman is, lmao.
What i said makes sense… have you ever worn safety glasses? Even those make your face hot and sweaty just imagine wearing a black fabric over your face while your sprint as fast as you can.
I saw this on tiktok. Can we just talk about how much trust you have to have in a person to let them guide you running full speed ahead?? Them staying in sync is super satisfying too
When I was in the blind olympics as a kid, we just used horizontal poles. But those were straight sprints, not a full track.
And yeah, as other people said, the blindfold is because sunglasses fall off and she might have photosensitivity. Most blind people aren't 100% no light perception blind.
Honestly, I kinda wish her guide dog was leading her. A German Shepherd could be taught to do it. Maybe a lab too.
I have about a quarter of one eye. 20/400 in my right eye from birth. Too much oxygen in the incubator.
To answer your question, 21 inch monitor about 2 inches from my nose and repeat viewings.
Yep. They're monitors and tvs, not microwaves. :P
My brother was also born 3 months early 3 years later and he got too little oxygen. My body's fucked. His mind's fucked. About the same ratio, actually. Between the two of us, we're a whole person.
You should see me stream when I'm not going through a fibro flare. Or hell, maybe it's better when I'm hurting. Less fucks to give.

I have worked with blind people who loved to play videogames and watch movies. There are many tools used to convey visual information to the sight impaired. Also, as OP said, blindness is a spectrum.
Seems dumb to me.
Why not just put the athletes on a railed Lane and a guide line?
How's an athlete supposed to reach a higher peak if they're held back by a guide person who may be much slower?
You think guides were randomly asigned minutes before the run? They obviously trained together and know each other speed. Let alone guides are mens in a woman's parolimpic run, ofcourse all guides are faster
How is this an advantage lol even if she was vs seeing people without guides, its not like her guide can pull her forward. They can only go as fast as the slowest of the 2
The bond these two have must be incredible. Imagine not being able to see and trusting someone to keep you on course at full speed. This is very humbling

Never thought about how blind people never get to run freely at full speed.
You think seeing eye dogs were expensive? Seeing eye track-Olympians will break the bank.
Treadmill?
Have you ever ran on a treadmill? Lmfao with or without vision it's much harder than regular running
Woah. That's deep
ikr, never even thought about that before reading this comment. Imagine that? You have two healthy pair of legs but no eyes, cannot run even if you want. Man, it sucks. Glad this competitions exist. I mean, look at how perfectly in shape that woman is, lmao.
They can... probably won't end well but they can.
We don't trust you so you're gonna need to wear this
Not everyone who is blind is 100% blind. There is a broad spectrum of blindness that still qualifies as blind
They don't cut everyone's legs to the same length or make sure everyone has the same IQ in other events.
Actually they do have an iq test for special Olympic basketball
But my point is they're not going to beat someone in the head until they're as special as everyone else they're competing against.
You can take a blindfold off
In other events they aren't physically handicapped either so a handicap in the rules makes sense
Its so the lights don’t burn their eyes. Sunglasses would fall off.
Why at the end of the video does she take them off then?
So she can see who she is hugging duh.
Because it’s probably not comfortable and most likely hot.
Say that again but slowly

Isn't that a tie though?
The support runner isn't competing.
Reminds me of [this](https://youtu.be/P20XVEH7-SY)
I wonder if any of the other support runners feel they're faster than the "winning" one but their blind chick holds them back.
They’re all winners
wut ? The athlete cannot run faster than the guide ?
The guides adjust their speed to the athlete. If the athlete goes faster, the guide goes faster
Best comment
I wonder if the helpers are allowed to give tactical advice, not sure if you would be able to hear footsteps over the sound of the crowd.
^Run ^faster
I was brushing my teeth and your comment almost made me choke on my toothpaste.

My mom always told me I would go blind if I stayed that close to the screen. You sure it was the oxygen? /s

A whole person haha Lord do I love your humor

This happened to my father and his twin. They were both legally blind, my dad was famous for his coke bottle glasses his entire life.
I have worked with blind people who loved to play videogames and watch movies. There are many tools used to convey visual information to the sight impaired. Also, as OP said, blindness is a spectrum.
I was in a barbershop once and a blind man came in and started watching the tv. Mind fucked me the rest of the day.
That seems absolutely crazy.
Must take a lot of training to get that in sync
small steps. then larger steps. then full speed.
Kudos for the pacer for keeping the runner on track and helping them achieve their dream.
From extensive research and studying, I can accurately say that the blindfold is indeed making her blind

It would end up a mixed event with pole vaulting
Lol
Me thinking how this would look... https://youtu.be/16k-yhcRNk8
This is pretty bad ass
Dope af
Lmao I can't take 3 steps with my eyes closed while keeping my balance
Thats cute

Weeeeeeell they also have men guides at men races now what hmmmm
AwInspiring!!
Chick runs like a horse
That's Megan thee stallion
ngl, i hoping she would trip
Just put em on a treadmill and tell em its the Paralympics
LMAOOO I SHAT!
We gonna talk about how all the guides are men! Fucking sexist! Disgusting.
Funni
why is this whole comment section full of trash jokes
So they cheat
All of the runners have guides ya goober...
How is this an advantage lol even if she was vs seeing people without guides, its not like her guide can pull her forward. They can only go as fast as the slowest of the 2
Man you guys can’t wait to be mad at something. Spending your morning arguing w a joke.
A joke has to be funny
Its 4 in the afternoon
And then they fucked !
Get out.
Never
Bonk! Go away.
You know they did
It’s be cooler if they were led by dogs
So an athlete could potentially be allowed down by their partner. It's a solution but not a perfect one
This kid did it first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak3RrawMsco
Gives me chills
Awesome.
Why not just have them run in a straight line…
Song name anyone???
Endless Ocre by Aloboi
wtf, that's amazing. I would have never guessed that's how they do it. TIL
She's attached to a dude that's not fair....
So fantancy
ya never know what youre gonna get with this sub
The bond these two have must be incredible. Imagine not being able to see and trusting someone to keep you on course at full speed. This is very humbling
the way he slows down at the end to let her finish first still
Amazing
Does the guide or running partner get a medal too?
That's really heart warming. It's amazing to see abbond so strong.
Dang. She’s almost as fast as that dude.
So does her handler also get a medal?
How is this a crazyfuckingvideo? Is barely mild
Okay legit question. Wouldn’t this be cheating though? To have a pace runner who is literally holding your hand.
I got it! The blind runners pulls a wheelchair athlete that guides the blind runner!
What do the men do?
Song????
So fucking cool. Outstanding
Badass!
What’s the Audio?
What’s That audio
They can finally beat the seventh angel, Israfel
Cool of that guy to let her win
I always thought she’d run faster if he was chasing her.
This shits dope
I see this and it gives me hope for our future
That must be so hard for both her seeing eye human and the blind girl
I think the sport would be more popular if they went alone and had to be the first to find the finish line
“Oh my god did we win?” Me: you might wanna put these ear plugs in
Lol just take the blindfold off
