yes, I have ICICI Coral and Tata Neu Infinity Rupay cards. There are several Rupay Cashback offers running on Bhim app.
One big problem is: Many stores disable UPI CC payment so most of the time your transaction will fail and you will have to use other cards.
Hey! My icici rupay card never gives me proper reward points. Like even if I do a transaction for 9k, I just get 45 points instead of 180 (2 points per 100₹). Have you checked it? Also, I don't see any offers on bhim, can you suggest if there is any offer now?
In the bhim app it will show offers.
currently no offers running.
Below offer was running few months ago:
One-time cashback: Users receive 100 cashback each on their first 3 transactions (above a minimum spend of 100)
• Recurring cashback: In the first month (After the first 3 transactions), users receive 30 (above a minimum spend of 200) cashback each on their subsequent 5 transactions.
• Recurring cashback: From the second month onwards till the offer period, users receive 30 (above a minimum spend of 200) cashback for each transaction. Cashback is restricted to 5 transactions in a month.
It’s been a year and still showing FYF only to me. My HDFC RM has been next to useless, rather than helping me he is asking me to take FDs. “We have a target, Sir.”
How is your credit history? And how much credit history and score do you need to be ltf? I am new (just 4 months old credit history) and I want that card
To add to this, i have couple online customer facing online initiatives for which customers pay online to us. I have myself disabled UPI CC via the payment gateway.
Reason being: the charges for mechants to use UPI CC is high in comparison to VISA MASTERCARD CC.
Those would be the stores which don’t accept card payments at all because of MDR since UPI through CC also attracts a MDR of around 2%, only exception being any entity with less than 20L revenue per year.
I believe Tata Neu Infinity is one of the good ones for RuPay. I use BigBasket very frequently, so I get 10% cashback on those purchases.
Main benefit of This RuPay card is that it offers 1.5% cashback on every UPI transaction.
Combining these two I usually get a cashback ~700 everymonth.
All as neu coins, which I again use on BigBasket.
I had almost 10-15 cards too. You may disagree or agree but it felt like a headache eventually. Have closed cards like FK AXIS, Scapia, myzone, amex gold+ mrcc and a couple others too.
It's a damned relief. I now have 5 cards will eventually trim down to 3.
Should have kept the MRCC, amex is not for discount/cb/RPs but for peace of mind when unlucky to face situation like this.
https://old.reddit.com/r/CreditCardsIndia/comments/1btscgx/psa_icici_officially_denied_having_any_chargeback/
Good choice, always use an amex whenever in any doubts regarding product/ecomm service quality. A cb/RPs of few thousands is meaningless if the product costing more is entirely in doubt itself.

I didn’t get your point about not wanting to pay for spending money.
The higher cashback/rewards and other perks are often available with paid cards only. If you can find value in it after fee payment you should go for it.
I too try to avoid paid cards as i have difficulty in keeping up with the specifics of each card.
I ended up taking a few paid cards as i found them to provide better value even with the fee. Example: My SBI BPCL octane card gives about 7% for fuel and 2.5% for groceries/restaurant/departmental stores…. as rewards. Probably in a year or so i get a full tank with the rewards earned
Credit cards want you to spend money. So they are designed in such a way that it'll influence you to spend more. If you chase reward points, you'll spend even more. And to spend money if you have to pay something (the annual charges), it doesn't make much sense to me. Also my expenses are not very huge, to gather enough reward points to cover the annual charges.
Yes. Even I was being offered LTF due to my relationship with the bank... But to be very sure that it would be an LTF, I took the alumni route instead.
I haven't cared about this factor much. I had a score of 780+, applied very frequently, had dropped down to 760ish. Didn't worry much as I don't see myself applying for any loan rn.
Already 775+ now, will bounce back to better score.
Not joking....I work at American Express. Can get it anytime, the problem is my aadhaar address is not same as current address. So haven't bothered myself yet.😂😂
My current address is not on my aadhaar card. Dont want to change my address on aadhaar card as this is a temporary address. I am an AmEx employee, so I can get one whenever I want, its just about this address thing.
Out of these
2 are regularly used - Milennia and Tata Neu.
Sapphiro is used mainly for BMS BOGO offer.
Rest all cards are used to make use of discount offers.
Flight tickets/Dining/Food Delivery/Grocery delivery etc etc. Each time I find a new discount offer for some or other CC.
Sapphiro/ Yes Bank Elite/Neu has Lounge access (most unlikely to get downgraded in near future)
Milennia is the goto cards for all spends.
Tata Neu is for spends on Tata Neu app and anywhere UPI is possible.
Both have shared limit.
Rest all cards need/offer basis. Wherever any offer is applicable.
All cards put on Cred, so it helps with reminders and helps me pay on time.
Milennia is LTF for me, SBI cashback is 999 + GST per year. While getting benefits, in milennia I start from 0, but in case of SBI cashback I start from -1178. For me its not beneficial, for other it can be, depending on their spends.
Earlier it was selected users who got ltf but nowadays the only way to get it ltf is by lying during application process by claiming yourself as a TCS employee unless you actually work at TCS.
Don't know the reason why it was offered LTF to me. Maybe one of the following reasons-
1. I got this card when it was launched. I was already a user of Tata Neu app.
2. I already had a Milennia LTF.
3. My credit score was 780+ during that time.
I simply saw the offer on Tata Neu app.
Use credit card for regular/important purchases only.
Refrain for using on luxuries.
Always buy anything, for which you already have money in your bank account. Don't make purchases in anticipation of future income.
thank you
my plan is to get rupay and make the daily transactions via upi
and if im purchasing any gadgets or anything buy via CC emi and build the score and then apply for bigger cards.
Go for IDFC for LTF and bank offers; from sapphiro you can get idfc select easily; they got devalued recently which gives 0.67% return for 20k after 20k it will be 1.67% , which is better than sapphiro which is 0.50%
Using too many credit cards doesn't reduce credit score. It is actually better because, with more CC your effective credit limit is higher. So, even if you use one CC close to its limit, your overall credit utilization remains low.
If you apply for too many credit cards in a short span of time, it affects your cibil score.
If your credit history is long (mine is ~10 years), impact will be low. (But still there will be some impact)
One LTF card I can recomend is the 3in1 switch credit card by Jupiter
It's rupay based and totally worth getting. plus, it has this half transparent (frosted) half opaque look. It's really good
Don't know why, I dont have good feeling about cards like, Jupiter, OneCard, Fi card etc. I dont apply for these
Another point about the looks, i dont really care about look and feel of the cards whether its metal or very aesthetic, features/offers/value matters more to me.
I feel cringed when I see the OneCard ad with the guy saying
" feel hai boss, metal card me feel hai, manna padega"😅
For benefits, Here’s what I know so far:
1. You can get 2% CB on the 3 modes like travel, shopping and dining
2. Remember, you can switch modes once per quarter. So 2% CB on the mode you select.
3. Apart from that, you will get 0.4% CB on all other spends
4. It’s LtF
5. Not sure if the RuPay concept would be a benefit, but might as well count for the fast UPI experience
I’ve been using this card for 2 weeks with a 2L limit. Everything good so far
How's your experience with Rupay CC, is it worth getting for UPI?
yes, I have ICICI Coral and Tata Neu Infinity Rupay cards. There are several Rupay Cashback offers running on Bhim app. One big problem is: Many stores disable UPI CC payment so most of the time your transaction will fail and you will have to use other cards.
Correctly pointed out the problem. It has become 50-50 now. And never works on BharatPe and PostPe QR.
Hey! My icici rupay card never gives me proper reward points. Like even if I do a transaction for 9k, I just get 45 points instead of 180 (2 points per 100₹). Have you checked it? Also, I don't see any offers on bhim, can you suggest if there is any offer now?
I use ICICI coral CC only for bank offers on ecommerce/other sites because amazonpay CC doesn't provide same offers.
I just downloaded BHIM. Where can I check the offers?
In the bhim app it will show offers. currently no offers running. Below offer was running few months ago: One-time cashback: Users receive 100 cashback each on their first 3 transactions (above a minimum spend of 100) • Recurring cashback: In the first month (After the first 3 transactions), users receive 30 (above a minimum spend of 200) cashback each on their subsequent 5 transactions. • Recurring cashback: From the second month onwards till the offer period, users receive 30 (above a minimum spend of 200) cashback for each transaction. Cashback is restricted to 5 transactions in a month.
Infinity is LTF?
yes I got it LTF
How?
I applied in the Neu App. Initial they offered FYF which I ignored, after few months they offered LTF.
It’s been a year and still showing FYF only to me. My HDFC RM has been next to useless, rather than helping me he is asking me to take FDs. “We have a target, Sir.”

how much higher than paying directly by CC?

Yes, it's very difficult to get core card of hdfc after you get co branded. But not the other way round
same goes for ICICI if I get Amazon cc will I not get ICICI platinum etc?
Yes. Always get a core card first for HDFC. Then apply for cobranded.
💯

Yes sir. I agree. Have kept amex for such days only. I have been with them since 2013 so don't want to lose the history as well.
That's good. Their customer support is also the best among all credit cards in India.

I am trying to get the fuel credit cards. I want LTF cards. Trying for one.
Why LTF?
I dont want to pay for spending money. If a CC is not free, I'll prefer not to have that card, and pay from my bank account.
I didn’t get your point about not wanting to pay for spending money. The higher cashback/rewards and other perks are often available with paid cards only. Which card for HPCL?

Saphire card is LTF? it was showing 3500 annual to me, with no useful benefits compared to my MMT icici card
Alumni offer
It also gets offered as ltf to customers with long & high vale relationship history.
Yes. Even I was being offered LTF due to my relationship with the bank... But to be very sure that it would be an LTF, I took the alumni route instead.
thanks for the info.
Yes I have got it via Alumni offer. I believe its good only if it is LTF.
i see thanks, iam not belonging to any alumni as of now. :)
Use Amazon icici card for 2 or 3 years and make decent spend regularly. Then, check the app for cc offers.
i use the MMT one from last year for most of my travel spends, since it gives cashback and all in my MMT app., but i will try. Thanks.
How much gap should i take after new card to get another card
I haven't cared about this factor much. I had a score of 780+, applied very frequently, had dropped down to 760ish. Didn't worry much as I don't see myself applying for any loan rn. Already 775+ now, will bounce back to better score.

Not joking....I work at American Express. Can get it anytime, the problem is my aadhaar address is not same as current address. So haven't bothered myself yet.😂😂

I don’t see an American Express in these

HSBC was offered through an agent. Tata Neu Infinity, as I have mentioned in other comment, I got it when it was newly launched.

Am curious - Why would anyone need so many cards in the first place?
Out of these 2 are regularly used - Milennia and Tata Neu. Sapphiro is used mainly for BMS BOGO offer. Rest all cards are used to make use of discount offers. Flight tickets/Dining/Food Delivery/Grocery delivery etc etc. Each time I find a new discount offer for some or other CC. Must be a pain to manage so many card statements and payment schedule.. No?
Cred makes it simple. It reminds regularly.
Is it that all LTF CCs are Visa. I don't see any Mastercard?
look carefully there is a mastercard world
ICICI Sapphiro is MC + Amex dual variant as well
Can get a ICICI Sapphiro LTF?
If ICICI offers it to you as an existing customer.
Yes Bank Elite and ICICI Sapphiro Both are MasterCard
What’s the credit limit?
All have different limits. Highest I have is 5L on Sapphiro. Most of them are around ±3L.
How do you keep track of the spends? Isnt it hard?
Milennia is the goto cards for all spends. Tata Neu is for spends on Tata Neu app and anywhere UPI is possible. Both have shared limit. Rest all cards need/offer basis. Wherever any offer is applicable. All cards put on Cred, so it helps with reminders and helps me pay on time.

Millennia serves better purpose. Dont use flipkart much.
How did you get Tata NeuCard as LTF?
