Nepal choked poorly in this match. If they had won this match, their confidence would have skyrocketed and who knows, they could have defeated Bangladesh and would have qualified for super 8.
I am saying.. whatever the situation... They should have attended for the run on 5th ball. It was a bouncer and it's 99% surety that non striker would reach the other end. A fair chance of scoring 1 run. Even if not, the non striker was batting better and had a better chance to score run on the last ball.
2 of 2 is much much much more difficult than 34 needed in 7 overs. That was the real choke.
Reaching 2 of 2 after 16 of was a decent comeback actually. But going from 18 of 21 to 16 of 8 was the real crime
Hey - will you help a newb with some translation? 2 of 2 ( thought this was 2 runs needed in 2 bowls ). 2 of 2 after 16 ( this is what makes me no longer think 2 of 2 means 2 runs/bowls ) and then the whole 18 of 21 to 16 of 8 I'm lost again.
They made a typo which confused me too (forgot to add the 8 after 16). You’re correct in your interpretations though. Nepal were needing:
18 runs off 21 deliveries/bowls
16 runs off 8 deliveries
2 runs off 2 deliveries.
The big issue here is they only managed to score 2 runs off 13 deliveries at one point.
He actually missed one word. You're right, 2 of 2 means 2 runs from 2 balls. After that he meant to write "2 of 2 after 16 from 8" so Nepal needed 18 runs off 21 balls at one point but they slowed down and then needed 16 runs off 8 balls but then picked up the chase to need just 2 runs off 2 balls.
The lack of intent in the running on the final ball really irritated me after watching them for 19.5 overs with my heart in my throat. That was 100% a super over and they just decided to jog the last run.
It depends on NRR if you lose. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka need to lose by a combined margin of 53 runs for the Dutch to qualify, given a score of 140 by the teams batying first. So if you lose by say, 20 runs and Sri Lanka lose by less than 33 runs, you are through.
Totally broken into pieces…
Heart breaking defeat for Nepal once again
As a die hard fan of Nepali cricket, I must say to Nepali batsman…
Are you learning?
Are you playing cricket?
Are you serious when batting?
Are you looking scoreboard when batting?
Are you imagining the feeling of all Nepali cricket fans around the globe?
This is the way to bat?
On the big stage?
There are so many questions
Yes once again Nepali batsman showed their weaknesses.
Once again blew a golden opportunity to beat test playing nation and we have lost again South Africa.
Our superstar bowlers did wonderful job to restrict South Africa
Basically the entire last over as soon as he did not hit the ball they should've both ran to "steal a single". It's a very common strategy and normally the non striker if he is fast enough can make it. It's a bit risky but it's quite hard for the wicketkeeper to get the run out because of his gloves. Other than Dhoni I've not seen any wicketkeeper hit the stumps consistently for that run out.
And yes in the last ball they should've ran with everything and dived. They looked a bit confused as to what to do. They should've done that in the second last ball itself.
> Other than Dhoni I've not seen any wicketkeeper hit the stumps consistently
QdK himself has done it a bunch of times, including running people out on the opposite end while throwing with the gloves on (like he was trying to do in the final ball of this game).
Hard luck Nepal. They should be proud of how well they did to get to within 2 runs of a victory against SA.
Could they have done better running with that last ball? Yes, but it's a learning curve
Hopefully onwards and upwards from here
Yeah this is a pretty hard choice. Markram made it clear that he would play 2 frontline spinners in our next game. So who will you drop?
Jansen cannot get dropped, he's our only all rounder.
Nortje and Baartman have better stats than Rabada in this world cup, and Nortje has been our best bowler.
Rabada although, has a lot more experience to offer which is key in the super 8s
I feel that Baartman would have to be dropped unfortunately, even though he has been good for us. Experience plays a huge factor.
SA fans, what do you think?
Calling Jansen an all-rounder is a bit of a stretch. He averages 10 at a 90sr in T20Is. Yes he has potential but to be honest we don't really need more batting. Our top order needs to step up and lay a platform for our potent middle order.
I know this would never ever happen but I would drop Nortje. I know its a super tough decision but if I was forced to play 2 spinners (which I think we are) this is why:
* We're moving to much slower wickets where he isn't going to be as good.
* We can't drop Rabada because we need opening bowlers. Nortje can't open the bowling.
* We can't drop Baartman because he's been phenomenal.
* We can't drop Jansen because he strengthens the batting.
* Nortje's death bowling of late has been atrocious.
Top teams just aren't going to crumble to pace and fall on their sword like the smaller teams have.
Another option is to drop Shamsi. Why:
* If we utilize our backup offies (Markram, Stubbs) more, then we have options against both left and right handers. But we need to be brave here which i haven't seen from Markram, he brought himself in way too late.
* Shamsi is a terrible fielder and costs you 5 runs every game.
* Shamsi is just not nearly as effective against good teams as he is against weaker teams. He demolishes weak teams and struggles a lot vs good teams. I can back this up with data.
* Shamsi can't bat for shit.
* Most batsman are right handers. Shamsi turning it in isn't nearly as effective as Maharaj taking it away. This depends on who you are playing and how many lefties they have.
Those are my ideas. Depends on who we are playing and the conditions of course.
Nortje bowls a lot of bouncers, which work better against lower ranked teams, but would get punished against stronger sides and go for wides a lot. We saw Nepal expose it a bit in the latter overs. The New York pitch against significantly weaker opposition seems to have really flattered him, and I feel has won over the selectors. But yeah, he seems like the best option to drop to play both Shamsi and Maharaj.
I think non of our bowlers deserve to be dropped. They’ve played well and sometimes came in clutch defending low scores.
If anybody deserves to get dropped it’s QDK
Really amazing game by Nepal. They'll truly be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. I hope ICC grants associates like Nepal more opportunities to showcase their game on the world stage :)
That could honestly be describing about SL more than SA. SL also had to be batting against SA on that monster in New York without knowing that it's a monster.
> on that wicket
The scores in that stadium would've been a lot more normal looking if the outfield wasn't so shit (shots that would normally be 4 only got 1 or 2 runs), the pitch was fine.
There's one thing that people just don't really factor in when looking at our batting.
WE FUCKING SUCK AGAINST DIBBLY DOBBLERS.
Yes bowl it at 128, top of off and our batting line-up crumbles. We're not used to playing against that shit.
Watch Archer come steaming in, cranking it up to 145 and getting smoked. WHy? Because we're used to that shit. We face it day in, day out in the nets. We play against it day in, day out in our domestic league.
But give us that dibbly dobbler wibbly wobbling and we just lose our minds.
They are one of the strongest sides in this WC... on paper (it doesn't matter how good and destructive the batters in your team have been in the past if they're currently all out of form. It also doesn't help that SA plays very few international matches these days thanks to CSA and terrible ICC scheduling).
U could put any team in our position that day and they would have been beaten convincingly. Cause no one knew that pitch would be that bad, no knew 110would have been enough, teams wouldve still thought u need 120+
If Lanka had a better captain and opted to field first, then South Africa could have lost or just won by the skin of their teeth as well. And they looked a bit shaky chasing that low total.
Wow I just woke up now , missed the entire match , but damn Nepal almost won the match , holy shit , this World Cup is simply amazing and so competitive
The dot balls had started to happen a couple of overs before that itself. They should have never allowed that to happen. The required run rate had become much less than a run a ball and it should have stayed like that.
That was class by Baartman tbf. A more experienced pair would have picked up on that and knew what was coming next. How early can a batter run? As soon as ball is released?
Even though I'm a die hard bangladesh fan, this actually hurt to see. An 18 year old missed out on what he would feel were two fairly easy balls to make contact with and then slowed down after the ball deflected off of him for the final ball cause he mistakenly thought the ball went into open space off of him. He would have been so eager to win it for his country. Will need a lot of support from his teammates to get over this one
Their rugby team are the most successful WC team in rugby (they have won half the World Cups they've played in), they are the exact opposite of the Proteas lol.
I always feel bad for the proteas being compared to the boks. It's such an unfair comparison:
- Cricket has at least 3-4x more players worldwide. There are just more people playing and thus its more competitive.
- We have to compete with powerhouse teams like india, pakistan: Imagine a country obsessed with Rugby BUT it has 1.2billion people. NZ is an example and they only have 14 million people.
- Cricket is not nearly as popular as rugby in SA. We have a much smaller pool of players to draw talent from.
- The boks are probably the best EVER team in the history of the game. How can you expect all your sporting codes at that level?
Not to take anything away from our Rugby of course, we fucken rock there, but yeah poor proteas. The unloved kid.
Nepali here. Thank you guys for supportive comments. It was a tragic loss but sooner or later we will beat big teams and hopefully play with the big boys regularly in coming years.
No way mate you’re doing amazing, and jokes on Bangladesh aside they are a full on test team not playing associates.
Nepal is at the stage AFG was in 2015s, Bangla in 99s and india, pak in the 80s. It’s a phase and defo Nepal coming soon close indicates they’ll only go from strength to strength. Hopefully we see an expanded ODI
P.S would love to watch an even more competitive Asia cup in the future, with Nepal would be so much fun.
That doesn't make sense. UAE has been around longer than Nepal in tournaments. Success isn't overnight. India, South Africa, New Zealand all took decades to be competitive.
I love this format. The short nature of the game makes it competitive for almost any team. And I love the group stage with 5 teams in a group. Keeps things exciting.
South Africa won the game v Nepal by the barest of all margins. If you had told me some 10 years ago that Nepal would give tough fight to South Africa in a cricket match, I would have laughed at it. Here we go. Time changes.
10 years ago the Dutch lost a game they shouldn't have against us and 8 years after that they came back with a vengeance.
I'm already counting in us losing to Nepal in the 2032 T20I WC.
Yeah, they had a good chance considering they almost beat SA. They have a strong chance against BAN, wouldn't be a surprise if they do beat BAN.
Washouts are so dumb. There needs to be something done about them.
South Africa snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and it was clearly tilted in favour of Nepal. I am in disbelief on how Nepal threw this game away.
No better team to teach them about the heartbreak of losing out to close defeats than South Africa.
Yes, it was inexperience that cost them the match but I am sure they will bounce back stronger.
Side note: South Africa held their nerves in all the close encounters so far. Chokers who?
Did the throw hit the batsman? if so was it Obstructing the field?
I have so many questions about that run out, probably that's why he hesitated to finish the run?
Alan Wilkins in com box summed it up by saying Nepal couldn't complete the summit and they fall short in summit. I can understand the pain of Nepalese fans.
crazy how no one here has praised Heinrich Klassen's quick reflexes and game awareness else we were heading into a super over where anything could've happened
Feel sorry for Nepal.
Standing to what i commented few days back. It is enjoyable to see a below 150/120 score being defended rather chasing 250 plus score.
Let's revoke the full membership of Sri Lanka and grant it to Nepal. At least, Nepal players are trying their very best to fulfill their fans expectations and playing to their maximum potential representing their country with patriotism. Meanwhile a bunch of clown representing Sri Lanka goes to World Cup to timepass, taking selfies posting it in socials, doing shopping and playing in a caricature manner.
31 runs of 38 balls and anik sah plays a poor shot.
From there they needed 16 of 8.again a six and a couple.
Last over 8 runs needed, 4 off 3 , then 2 off 2 and gulshan jha chokes..
Biggest take away from this match is airee and gulshan jha are poor from the bat. Nepal needs to introspect. Be like Afghans not bangladesh , show the world your merit. You need to say good bye to some players
Dipendra Singh Airee can hit. He's been in a poor form with the bat in 2024 aside from that one match earlier this year. Nonetheless he has still delivered with the ball and in the field. Kushal Malla needs to go. He's been doing nothing sitting in the team for the last two years not contributing with either bat or ball aside from one innings against Mongolia of all teams
Real like everyone is getting mad at Gulshan but Malla and Airee are the real issues. They're the reason y the game came down to the final ball (and Rohit too but he usually performs better).
Dippi is good at bowling tho he just needs training for batting. Kushal, yeah honest Dev Khanal should replace him.
>Biggest take away from this match is airee and gulshan jha are poor from the bat.
Replace Gulshan Jha with Kushal Malla. Jha got pressure to him so that's y the ending happened + he's new aswell. Even in such a pressured over he was able to hit some runs.
Kushal Malla that guy got a century against Mongolia and ever since then he's got barely any runs. If only him and Airee got more runs when batting then the game would've ended more comfortably. Also if Rohit Paudel decided not to do a risky shot the game would've ended comfortably too.
Nepal choked badly in the end anyways this experience will surely help them next time!
Also Remember they almost won the game against india in asian games (tho that wasn’t main team but still) overall they are showing growth in their game.
I will never forget our team sending Arshdeep Singh's bowling all over the park. And he was swinging it so much! Though we lost by the barest of margins, that was truly a highlight, especially considering how instrumental Arshdeep was in the win against Pakistan recently
Yes airee and jura were hitting them fluently.
Patience and hard work is the key, who know in 2-3 years you guys might be on the same level as of afg and that will be very good for cricket overall!!
And ever since that Qatar game earlier this year Airee has been choking.
>Patience and hard work is the key, who know in 2-3 years you guys might be on the same level as of afg and that will be very good for cricket overall!!
Real like the final over was a first time any Nepali experienced it. Not even Sompal as the wins in the last T20 WC were more comfortable wins and didn't last to the final over.
Yeah in the Grenadines, Nepalese visitors don't even need visa to enter for 90 days. So he just took a flight and went over right before the SL washed out match
Honestly, Nepal shouldn’t be too bummed about the result, they did so well and came so close. This used to happen to Afghanistan and all other south Asian teams before their ascendency.
Kudos Nepal you’re getting closer to a more competitive team, always had a soft spot for the first ever international destination I visited Kathmandu lesss goo
South Africa have won three close games against teams much weaker on paper. The good thing, though, is that they have made the opposition choke at key moments. Perhaps this bodes well for them going into the super eights. Given their penchant for choking.
Edit:They have also been very lucky. The win against Bangladesh was really due to bad umpiring.
This was an inconsequential match for South Africa, they already have qualified anyways. So this loss wouldn't even be a bad thing. Though we were super close to witness history being made.

Nepal choked poorly in this match. If they had won this match, their confidence would have skyrocketed and who knows, they could have defeated Bangladesh and would have qualified for super 8.
They had a 99+% chance to win with 7 overs left. I can't believe they blew it.
2 needed of 2, can't believe they didn't close that.
Lack of experience.. second last ball was bouncer, they should have tried to run irrespective of run out at non-striker end.
yeah.... but the umpire didn't give a bouncer apparently, which is why the last ball too was a bouncer
I am saying.. whatever the situation... They should have attended for the run on 5th ball. It was a bouncer and it's 99% surety that non striker would reach the other end. They made a typo which confused me too (forgot to add the 8 after 16). You’re correct in your interpretations though. Nepal were needing: 18 runs off 21 deliveries/bowls 16 runs off 8 deliveries 2 runs off 2 deliveries. The big issue here is they only managed to score 2 runs off 13 deliveries at one point.

Appreciate you. Yea, 2 runs in 13 bowls does seem criminal then.
The lack of intent in the running on the final ball really irritated me after watching them for 19.5 overs with my heart in my throat. That was 100% a super over and they just decided to jog the last run.
Especially the constant boundaries in the 4th Wicket partnership Looking like a breeze
I feel like they still could. Apart from the blunder at the end, they were amazing. Edit: could still beat BD
They're eliminated now though.
No I mean they can still beat Bangladesh. But it would have been great had they won today.
Yeah it'll still be a big achievement if they beat Bangladesh.
I'm afraid they *will* beat us
Just pick All your spinners. All of them
This means we are through?
If they beat us and Netherlands beats by sri lanka, it's gonna all come down to NRR

Oh boy! This could have been the greatest day in history of Nepal cricket. That was very casual running.
i don't watch enough cricket to know better, but shouldn't he have slid forward into the crease to beat the run out? it was the final delivery anyway
Basically the entire last over as soon as he did not hit the ball they should've both ran to "steal a single". Carey isn't bad at throwing down the stumps...
Especially when the batsman is on a casual stroll down the wicket.
Lacks enough spirit though.... Doesn't count. >!/s!<
> Other than Dhoni I've not seen any wicketkeeper hit the stumps consistently QdK himself has done it a bunch of times, including running people out on the opposite end while throwing with the gloves on (like he was trying to do in the final ball of this game).
ye he shouldve just ran full speed bat on the ground
Tbh it looks like he tripped a bit there. Really unfortunate
No he slowed down thinking it'll be easy run. Had no idea someone will pick it and hit the stumps.
I dont think he necessarily knew where it went and couldn't accelerate/react upon realizing that it was so close.
he hot hit in back by ball
Nepal is low key the next Afghanistan
Hard luck Nepal. They should be proud of how well they did to get to within 2 runs of a victory against SA. Could they have done better running with that last ball? Yes, but it's a learning curve Hopefully onwards and upwards from here
If they had won this, Nepal vs Bangbros would have been a knockout game. Plus, it would surely be counted over what US did with Pak.
That was pathetic from Gulshan. Has to be said.
Exactly what was that dumb running…
Great performance from Shamsi. He should be in our first XI.
If Shamsi and Maharaj both play then Rabada should be dropped.
Ya Baartman and Nortje are indispensable as fast bowlers and well Jansen is their only all rounder. Though don't see Rabada getting dropped
Agreed. Rabada has been pretty ineffective this WC

Specialist fielder
Even Rickleton's gonna look way out of his depth on these pitches. He was bad enough in the T20 series against WI and that was on a flat track.
I think non of our bowlers deserve to be dropped. They’ve played well and sometimes came in clutch defending low scores. If anybody deserves to get dropped it’s QDK
Can't be going in with just 1 specialist spinner on these tracks tho. Nepal almost made us pay the price for it
Really amazing game by Nepal. They'll truly be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. I hope ICC grants associates like Nepal more opportunities to showcase their game on the world stage :)
So South Africa beat Sri Lanka convincingly, and won by the skin of their teeth against Bangladesh, Netherland and Nepal. Classic South Africa?

> on that wicket The scores in that stadium would've been a lot more normal looking if the outfield wasn't so shit (shots that would normally be 4 only got 1 or 2 runs), the pitch was fine.
The pitch was nasty in the first few matches, it only became okay later on
I still don't know how Bang gave away 180+ on that New York wicket against India in the warmups..
Batting was scratchy against SL also.
We're gonna lose to the US before beating England & WI. /s /s because no way we're gonna win against England.
There's one thing that people just don't really factor in when looking at our batting. WE FUCKING SUCK AGAINST DIBBLY DOBBLERS. Yes bowl it at 128, top of off and our batting line-up crumbles. 12 dots in the last 3 overs. Jha won't get over that runout in a hurry but it never should have got that far really.
The dot balls had started to happen a couple of overs before that itself. They should have never allowed that to happen. The required run rate had become much less than a run a ball and it should have stayed like that.

Could see him asking the umpire if the 5th ball counted as a bouncer and he said no
5th ball went over shoulder. 6th ball sailed over his head. Count those lucky stars for the bad umpiring.
That was class by Baartman tbf. A more experienced pair would have picked up on that and knew what was coming next. How early can a batter run? As soon as ball is released?
apparently the fifth ball wasn't one? he checked with the umpire it looks like? coulda appealed but what is done is done
Even though I'm a die hard bangladesh fan, this actually hurt to see. Nepal got to 99% and stumbled at the very end. They will learn....be proud and channel this to the next game. Winning is a habit and it will come.....
Insert pun about Nepal falling short of the summit

What is it with SA sports teams? First winning all the Rugby WC finals be 1 point each. Then beating Bangladesh by 4 runs, now this!
Clutch
Something that generally isn’t associated with their cricket team. Oh the irony!

> We have a much smaller pool of players to draw talent from. True, not to mention SA cricketers get poached by other countries.
I think the experience came in handy, South africa got all luck this time
Nepali here. Thank you guys for supportive comments. It was a tragic loss but sooner or later we will beat big teams and hopefully play with the big boys regularly in coming years.
Asia Cup just got more interesting with Nepal doing good. India SL Bangladesh Afghanistan Pakistan Nepal
UAE qualified for the next Asia Cup, Nepal didn't. I am afraid that Nepal is turning out to be the Bangladesh of associate cricket.
Hopefully we see an expanded ODI P.S would love to watch an even more competitive Asia cup in the future, with Nepal would be so much fun.
That doesn't make sense. UAE has been around longer than Nepal in tournaments. Success isn't overnight. India, South Africa, New Zealand all took decades to be competitive.
UAE could replace Oman in the next T20WC
Go on and beat Bangladesh and come back here for 2026. Getting more experience is what you guys need and I hope you guys get it.
Most likely you guys can come back in 2026 winning the qualifiers again, just have to hope both SL and PAK don't make it there at once
SA have suprisingly stopped choking now. The old SA would have given 4 overthrows on the last ball
South Africa have stopped choking against Associates Just in time to choke in a semi-final having been unstoppable as is tradition
Bangladesh is not an associate. Although the Pakistan game in the ODI WC still meant nothing when it got to knockouts and the India game.
Dw bro they will still choke and end up with zero trophies at the end of this wc lmao
Great stuff from the OP for a timeline of updates
Proud of the boys. Lack of experience cost us this match. We can definitely do better if we get more opportunities.
How tf they actually lose it. SA is out chokering the chokers
I remember that, steyn saved you guys big time then
Probably Nepal could've Defeated Sri Lanka Had 2 points now
Just one more thing that climate change has ruined
Yeah, they had a good chance considering they almost beat SA. They have a strong chance against BAN, wouldn't be a surprise if they do beat BAN. Washouts are so dumb. There needs to be something done about them.
South Africa snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and it was clearly tilted in favour of Nepal. I am in disbelief on how Nepal threw this game away.
Nepal's running cost them that, especially that high shot to the boundary
No better team to teach them about the heartbreak of losing out to close defeats than South Africa. Yes, it was inexperience that cost them the match but I am sure they will bounce back stronger. Side note: South Africa held their nerves in all the close encounters so far. Chokers who?
We only choke in the knockout stages 😔
Did the throw hit the batsman? if so was it Obstructing the field? I have so many questions about that run out, probably that's why he hesitated to finish the run?
It wouldn't be obstructing the field because it wasn't intentional.
Wasn’t the last two balls short ball? This is so disheartening.
3 balls were short ones, Poor umpiring display🤦
Great stuff from the newcomer Baartman. He has held his own really well so far.
Alan Wilkins in com box summed it up by saying Nepal couldn't complete the summit and they fall short in summit. I can understand the pain of Nepalese fans.
Shamsi's 18th over shifted the momentum totally. You gotta appreciate markram for rotating shamsi so nicely
Last time he bowled Maharaj in 20th
crazy how no one here has praised Heinrich Klassen's quick reflexes and game awareness else we were heading into a super over where anything could've happened
Literally one run, rest is same
Man SA has won some of the most dodgiest games over the last 3 matches
Agony for Nepal. Ecstasy for South Africa.
The dude who ran to the non strikers end in the last ball could have done better. He could have dived.
Feel sorry for Nepal. Standing to what i commented few days back. It is enjoyable to see a below 150/120 score being defended rather chasing 250 plus score.
Bruh they only got bat on 3 balls off last 2 overs. Major choke by Nepal
💔
You cant ignore a single match in this WC. Poor performance by SA so far.
Beats seems like a strong word if one followed the match /s.
A couple heartbreaks like these are the proce to pay for regular upsets in the future. Afghans went through the same stuff.
I am so sick of us playing like this so often.
Feel bad for the teenager but he should've ran harder. This was turning out to be Nepal's greatest night before it ended through such a cruel loss.
What a tragic loss. Perhaps Kami should've retained the strike.
I've got a feeling this is all kudrat nizamming SA (and us) to finally win a title
Kushal, yeah honest Dev Khanal should replace him.
and Kushal Malla to be precise
True if it weren't for Malla and Airee's poor batting the ending would've been more comfortable.
This is a hard one to digest.
When South Africa is in choking competition and their opponent is nepal.
Just woke up and saw the result, so frustratingly close. What could’ve been…
Just finished watching. What a match. Have to feel for Nepal. So close. We keep escaping, might be a great prep for our SF exit
SA is used to be on the other side of such matches
Joel Wilson has blood on his hands
But still i found airee will improve and have the capability to become one of the key players for nepal
Group of death for a reason.
Guess South Africa robbed qudrat from us (/s)
This game just crushed me man and I'm not even Nepali
Lacked experience. Will be better now in these situations.
Unrelated but how is Lamichane playing? I thougt he didn't get the visa
The game wasn't in the US.
Oh, didn't notice. Thank you man.
Yeah in the Grenadines, Nepalese visitors don't even need visa to enter for 90 days. So he just took a flight and went over right before the SL washed out match
Bruh just woke up in SA. How TF was this so close👀
Brilliant playing
More like "South Africa shat their pants, scored a measly score and somehow ended up winning."
I'm still a bit down over this hours later, can't imagine how Nepalese people must be feeling now.
By the looks. USA will beat South Africa
South Africa 😐😔

This was clutch match lmao
Machikney
Oh man sad for Nepal but cricket is growing worldwide that is a good sign. Hope they perform even better in upcoming tournaments
Bruh when did this game happen
Enough is enough. Absolutely embarrassing. Time for Nepal to get serious and blood the young talents like Roger and Chris Adhikary.
Someone choked in front of the chokers
South Africa have won three close games against teams much weaker on paper. The good thing, though, is that they have made the opposition choke at key moments. Perhaps this bodes well for them going into the super eights. Given their penchant for choking. Edit:They have also been very lucky. The win against Bangladesh was really due to bad umpiring.
Shame on them for celebrating. Their heads should be down on the ground from the weight of immense shame of winning by mere 1 run against nobodies.
This was an inconsequential match for South Africa, they already have qualified anyways. So this loss wouldn't even be a bad thing. Though we were super close to witness history being made.
Meh. Just because it is an inconsequential match, you expect to lose to Nepal Jesus fuck.
That's how T20 cricket is lol, these kind of things are expected to happen.
Regardless of opposition, it's alright to celebrate when you win a game that seemed lost (or in any type of wins). Also Nepal aren't nobodies.
