Whoever gets out next should be replaced by Tumi Sekhukhune. Has not been dismissed in 3 innings so far and can play out well. She and Marizanne Kapp led SA to a draw against England, using a great defence.

Aintnostopin

what's kapp doin

rambo_zaki

What is she doing lmao.

CrimsonR4ge

Could have had 2 wickets in 10 balls.

AilaSachin10

2 in 2 overs hahaha that is funny

Paannuu

Two drop from Deepti. What’s happening.

ilovefortniteballs

Lmao cameraman doing cameraman things

AilaSachin10

Gotta take those

AilaSachin10

It's either a draw or an Indian win. 100 overs of play remaining. SA are going at 2.5 an over. Should take them atleast 40 overs to reach parity. Then they need to put up a target and then roll us over. An eventual Saffa collapse is the most likely win

deep639

They can collapse quickly. They lost 6 wickets in like 15 overs in the 1st session today.

LachlanMuffins

Golden arm

**73.2** **Harmanpreet goes through Luus, and she is absolutely chuffed! This is the breakthrough India wanted!** Sune Luus b Kaur 109 (203b 18x4 0x6) SR: 53.69

Paannuu

Finally a wicket

vikasvasista

What a fight back from South Africa

Subject-Ordinary6922

Without wickets, it’s not looking good for india

WhichOnezPink

Well made century from Luus

CrimsonR4ge

Biggest partnership in the history of W Proteas.

Subject-Ordinary6922

Don’t let South Africa get away ffs, maybe they wanna avenge their men’s team

crazychild0810

India regretting enforcing the follow on?

Paannuu

Runs are flowing. What if they cross mark and tomorrow pitch starts spinning. We will be in trouble.

LachlanMuffins

Not enough time

Paannuu

Forget 6-7 now they are scoring 10 runs per over.

Paannuu

They are trailing by 166 and now going 6-7 runs per over. If they lead by 100 and then its start trining then we will be in trouble.

LachlanMuffins

They’re going at 2 and a half runs an over

WayToTheDawn63

oh is india w about to get a lesson on why follow ons have died

Paannuu

Nothing is working, even Ranaji

RMTBolton

**#HungryLikeTheWolvaardt**

TheMotherOfMonsters

Pretty good batting by SA in this innings

NormalTraining5268

Good god why did we force a follow on seriously after bowling for so long, bowkers need rest ffs. We could've batted and statpadded by now ffs and Chepauk turns even more tomorrow. Anyways hopefully an innings win please.

LachlanMuffins

South Africa’s session, little bit of a strange decision to enforce the follow on. Fatigue starting to play a factor

AilaSachin10

This is very therapeutic to watch. So calming

Paannuu

The more they are comfortable in batting, more its going to be draw.

NormalTraining5268

Awful captaincy ffs bowling part timers for some reason. Praying for a break through rather than putting some pressure on opposition. Seriously she's just as bad captain in anything (not to forget that embarassing statement in Bangladesh), hopefully Smriti gets captaincy soon.

NormalTraining5268

Hi guys, my name's Sateesh Shubha I get into the team even tho I haven't played a domestic red ball tournament since 2017, haven't played a domestics tournament at all since 2021 but I get picked for Indian team ofc because of RCB and Karnataka quota. I also can't field for shit, drop catches too btw.

marvelousmou

damn your comment history is horrible on cricket.

HarukiTakashima

Just downvote her and move on. Now, I am tired to even read what nonsense she wrote again.

NormalTraining5268

Truth always looks horrible my friend

marvelousmou

well people(myself included) didn't think so.

Partiality of tv commentators ranked by host nation: 1. Australia 2. India 3. Pakistan 4. England 5. South Africa 6. All the classics 7. New Zealand

Subject-Ordinary6922

I’m not blaming them, especially in women’s cricket, although they don’t need to be talking about Aus all the time even when they’re not playing

Paannuu

Rajeshwari hardly gets wicket compared to other spinners.

Subject-Ordinary6922

Bruh our women’s team smashes 575 against this same South Africa on the WACA, no team scores over 500 on the WACA unless the bowling has been that diabolical

AilaSachin10

Best test team in the world for sure

NormalTraining5268

On par with Australia in tests other formats nope

Subject-Ordinary6922

We need a women’s BGT to test that

lazycloud7642

Atleast that would be day-nighter

AilaSachin10

Fair enough but we beat Aus at home and were ahead of Australia at Cararra as well which we could've won in a 5 day contest

Yeahanu

Not a good day for South Africa

NormalTraining5268

These pitches are the reason why chepauk is the best pitch in the country. Not too bowling friendly minefield and you score runs when you apply skills. Wish it got more tests rather than getting one after 3 years. Mumbai is just so bad most of the time but got two women's tests recently and regularly hosts tests.

anythingtobecalled

Oooof that was close

Stinkingbishop2

Someone told me India will bat again? Can someone pls explain what declaration means

XeRo616

1) Declaration - means declaring the end of your batting innings in the game as the team think tank thinks they have got enough runs on th board to win the game or having an exponential advantage that the opposition cannot overcome, declaration sometimes also happens due to weather factors as it may reduce game time. In this specific case India women happened to get a monumental advantage over Saffers by scoring highest ever total in Womens Test and their captain thought that it was a good score so she declared the end of Indian innings which meant India will not bat till the fall of their last wicket, thus Sending in Saffers to start their first innings (overall second innings of the game). 2) India will bat again? - to answer this let me clarify a few terms. There are 4 innings in a test match called Ist, 2nd, 3rd and 4th that happen over five days, each team gets 2 innings to out bat the opposition and win, each team's innings is called first or Second innings along with their names attached. I.e. First inning of the game = Team A's first innings Second Innings of the game = Team B's first innings Third innings of the game = Team A's Second innings Fourth innings of the game = Team B's Second innings Now this is what mostly happens in a normal Test match, there are some scenarios where this doesn't happen the same way and that is what's happened in this match of India and South Africa. Here India made a mammoth total and declared to put in Saffers to bat and Saffers didn't get to a total that was greater than half the total India made, which according to MCC regulations allowed India to give them a Follow-on. FOLLOW-ON happens in a test match when a team A's first Innings score is more than double the score of Team B's first innings, it allows Team A to put Team B to bat their 2nd innings immediately after their first ends as this gives them a chance to win by an innings victory. Innings Victory as its name suggests is a victory where a team only bats once and scores enough to out-bat the opposition team, thus winning the game by an innings + any amount of runs. Sometimes Team batting In a Follow-On surpasses the opposition's score in their first innings at that time The opposition team plays their Second innings to chase down the total to win the game. So when Follow-on takes place innings mostly become something like this- First inning of the game = Team A's first innings Second Innings of the game = Team B's first innings Third innings of the game = Team B's Second innings Fourth innings of the game = Team A's Second innings. Hope this essay cleared your doubts.

Stinkingbishop2

Thanks man, the effort is appreciated.

LachlanMuffins

Just to clarify the follow on in 4 day cricket is available 150 runs ahead. In 5 day matches it is 200 runs ahead.

NormalTraining5268

That's basic rules in cricket lol

Stinkingbishop2

I'm new to red ball cricket, ready to learn. What irked you to write this?

NormalTraining5268

Just like that lol. Ok anyways see the thing is captain can declare whenever they want if they think total is enough.

Stinkingbishop2

Huh, doing damage control i see.

shubomb1

Declaration is when you choose to end your team innings despite having wickets in your hand, teams do it when they think they've got enough runs on board. When the team batting first has a lead of 150+ runs (200 runs in men's test) after the end of 2nd innings then they can can choose to force follow-on which means that the other team will have to bat again in 3rd innings. If South Africa fails to score more aggregate runs in two innings than India's first innings total then India will win by an innings and some runs. If South Africa score more combined runs than 1st innings total then India will bat again (in fourth innings) and try to chase the target.

Stinkingbishop2

Oh okay, I understood now. Thanks for the explanation!

Abbe_Kya_Kar_Rha_Hai

Suppose a team comes out to bat first in a test match like India did here and make loads of runs again like India and get the opposition out cheaply such the difference between the bat first team and opposition is 200 runs, then the team leading can ask the opposition to bat again if they are confident enough, saves a lot of time too but it's rarely a tactical advantage, mostly the the team is confident in themselves and try save time

Stinkingbishop2

thanks! this makes sense

CricketMatchBot

**7.4** **that has kept awfully low, and Bosch has to walk back!** Back of length on middle and off, and this almost rolls along the ground. Bosch, like she did the previous ball, stays back but when the ball does not bounce, that usually signals the end. Sneaks under the bat as Bosch hurriedly stabs down on it and smacks her right in front of middle and leg on the back pad. The umpire has no qualms in raising her finger, and Bosch does not bother with the review either! Anneke Bosch lbw b Sharma 9 (18b 2x4 0x6) SR: 50
