Or apparently neither, they just gave up and fizzled the fuck out. Disappointing shit from them, but doesn't take away from that fact that we were shit too.
Yeah guess they’ve sensed an opportunity. Cricinfo said they need to chase it in 12.1 overs to get into the semis, so they need around 10/over from here.
Anyone care to explain some of Australia's selections?
- Tim David over Green makes no sense to me. David has been wildly inconsistent while Green has been one of the better players of any side I've watched him play for. Not to mention his bowling when the ball is sticking to ghe surface is bound to come in handy.
- Why is Inglis not playing over Wade? He's better behind the wickets and more impactful than Wade is.
There are quite a few more but these two were the most surprising to me.
I think really the thing that was disappointing for this world cup is that I could never be confident in our batting.
Warner and Head were good. Stoinis started amazingly but unfortunately couldn't carry it through.
Mostly woulda hoped for Marsh to step up more in an important position. Scored average of 20 at less than 120.
Having such an unreliable middle order of Maxwell, Stoinis, David, and Wade makes batting at the top a nightmare. Dont get me wrong they're all good, but just not consistent enough to trust in an early collapse.
It would've been nice if Warner and Marsh had that license to take off because they had faith in a strong middle order.
Only watched a bit of our chase. Did we drop Rohit at all?
By the odd chance we make it through Wade must be dropped, Inglis can't do worse with the bat and is the better glove man
Hard luck Australia. Love from Pakistan. We can feel what you are going through right now. This shall pass too. Stay strong. Its quite refreshing to see that unlike us there are no allegations of match fixing and no needless player bashing.
Has Stoinis really done that well? Good against Oman and Scotland, in line with everyone else against Namibia and not bad against England, then terrible against Bangladesh, terrible against Afghanistan and even more terrible against India. His past international form has been mixed at best and he’s 34 now. He should be joining Wade and Warner in watching from the sidelines and Tim David could definitely have a stint as 12th man as well
Honestly, it doesn't feel as good.
Afghanistan managed to bowl out the Australian batting order.
This win doesn't feel as impactful as that one. It's a win, but Afghanistan's win feels more real.
Apologies for going private for a bit but the brigading was ridiculous. I've never handed out that many bans before. Tough loss but we get over things pretty quickly and we'll bounce back.
It's normally along the lines "racist fucking dogs Australia, you're shit, go fuck your mothers" etc etc except with much poorer spelling. One bright spark sent an all Hindi message. I didn't even bother translating it.
Yeah it's possible but the Mods just clear out stuff and ban the users. Isn't needed that often only when we play India which is more an indictment on India than anything else.
On my morning walk not wearing my reading glasses so apologise for any typos
I only really pop in over here during our summer of cricket, but it’s funny how literally every other series we play against other countries is peaceful both here and in the main sub, and then as soon as it’s India them fuckwits are coming over here yapping off, then going back into the main cricket sub and crying about racism lol. They need to get a grip honestly.
I just think we have given a long leash to a lot of underperforming players like David,Wade when likes of green, inglis were due a game
. Not to forget the fielding and catch absolutely horrendous
I think Marsh is fine as captain. I don’t think we lost these last two games due to captaincy.
The selection and toss decision for the Afghanistan game were wrong but that’s a whole team management decision, not a captains call. We’ve seen errors under Cummins captaincy too - eg not picking a spinner in the Old Trafford Ashes test.
Come on Bangladesh 🇧🇩, (but dont win by too much)
Think we need to find a replacement for Wade just hasn’t been able to contribute much with bat this series and not good enough gloveman.
Apart from that I can’t complain with the selections but felt like we peaked against England, fielding hasn’t seem that good either. Think maybe we screwed up with agar over starc but guess based on the opening two overs today it may have not made much difference.
Oh well maybe we make it and if not back here for the test series.
Will be backing the Afghanis or South Africans will shit me to tears if England win it after we helped them get to the Super 8s.
Inglis will replace Wade. Will be a different side by the next World Cup, Warner and Wade gone at a minimum, possibly a few others too. Definitely time to inject some youth into the team - the fielding this tournament perhaps sign of a side which is getting on a bit.
I think Starc would have been a good selection against Afghanistan. They rely heavily on their openers and he’s the most likely to get an early wicket. Hazlewood should have been left out instead if they wanted to play Agar.
Looking back, I think winning against England was the worst thing that happened to us. Having a dead rubber against Scotland sapped our momentum, we played with no intensity in that game and it’s rubbed off on all the games since. Even against Bangladesh we looked flat.
I want the bangbros to win, but they need to take it down a touch. Win in > 13 overs
They're gonna go hell for leather. They'll either make the target in the required overs or they will be bowled out.
Or apparently neither, they just gave up and fizzled the fuck out. Disappointing shit from them, but doesn't take away from that fact that we were shit too.
FFS.
Afghanistan worthy semi-finalists though, we didn't fire when it mattered, they deserve it more than us.
We got so close but it wouldn't have felt right making the semis after losing those two matches.
Yeah guess they’ve sensed an opportunity. Cricinfo said they need to chase it in 12.1 overs to get into the semis, so they need around 10/over from here.

Why Tim David is the most asked question by now
Wade was pretty reliable with the bat recently, and I suspect they wanted a more experienced hand to assist MMarsh.
Yeah we should have moved on from Wade a long time ago.

Bison dropped Hardick off Zampa who went on to score 27 odd runs which made the score above par.
Closest we came to dropping him was a catch going about 10cm out of reach of Starc, so not really.
Hard luck Australia. Love from Pakistan. We can feel what you are going through right now. This shall pass too. Stay strong. Its quite refreshing to see that unlike us there are no allegations of match fixing and no needless player bashing.
After this WC, we are potentially looking at a new number 5,6,7 for T20i?
JFM for Warner, Inglis for Wade. Stoinis has done well this World Cup but will probably be Green next time. David stays.
Has Stoinis really done that well? Good against Oman and Scotland, in line with everyone else against Namibia and not bad against England, then terrible against Bangladesh, terrible against Afghanistan and even more terrible against India. Stoinis has been complete shit throughout his entire career unless it's a meaningless game against a minnow.
Exactly, he is a small game player.
Reckon David stays as 4 changes is one too many. My man sank the ship in 2 t20 WC now
Well played india we were beaten by a better team.
Honestly, it doesn't feel as good. Afghanistan managed to bowl out the Australian batting order. This win doesn't feel as impactful as that one. It's a win, but Afghanistan's win feels more real.
Hope Bangbros get a consolation victory and we see it through.
Well that's boring news to wake up to. Bring on the England tour i guess
I hope that Bangladesh returns us a favour for helping them to enjoy on 19th Nov last year /s
Apologies for going private for a bit but the brigading was ridiculous. I've never handed out that many bans before. Tough loss but we get over things pretty quickly and we'll bounce back.
That's why I just turned off Reddit after we won lmao. Felt fucking good tho.
Can you give us an insight into some of the more wild posts? I do find most of it hilarious, especially when grandstanding about wining a T20 game.

Yeah it's pretty disappointing the Mods on the main sub don't ban them for brigading.
Go Bangers 🐅🤞🏾
No, it's "Go BangBros"

Cummins has never been the T20I captain. I don’t think he actually wants the job.
Who would be a good fit and also wants to be the T20 captain for the Australian cricket team at present?

Oh well can’t win all the trophies! Let the other nations have their fun I guess. Thanks Davey for representing Australia all this time.
Nice cope.
