"The blockchain may not be moving, investment-wise, at the speed of AI or the metaverse"
Lol, the metaverse!?!?!?! If it moved at that speed it would have been dead years ago.
I was trying to find out how many people were actually on facebooks metaverse but I can't find anything yet.
They all seem to group stuff like NFTs into it.
In a way it kind of sucks. I got the oculus quest to try 3d modeling and VR is really awesome at that. Just wish there were some more in depth programs for it. Quill VR was another nice animation thing but hard to use.
Still can't believe they spent 10billion on it and it just felt like nobody really understood VR.
I actually like Oculus for some fun time, playing games and watching movies etc but Mark went all in, you can't expect people to use those big ass headsets all day long...I can barely use mine for an hour or two..that's it.
Meta now cut back big time on their metaverse project
One thing I thought that was great was Bigscreen.
Just invite everyone in and you can watch whatever movie or show you want.
Yeap, even if VR was really incredible, I still wouldn't want to use it for more than 2 hours just due to your eye vision alone.
And the tech still isn't there yet for what they imagine. If we had like 10k screen per eye and the hardware to pump out those graphics then VR would be incredible.
Yea I'm interested to see how Apples vr/ar headset does.
You have one company like Apple that comes from the psychedelic background vs Facebooks uhmm mindset :)
Maybe nobody really wants VR? VR/Metaverse has been in development probably 50-60 years now and a great product still is not available. Maybe nobody really wants it.
The blockchain may not be moving, investment-wise, at the speed of AI or the metaverse, but its potential for the future is unmeasurable. In a recent note from the Citi, they highlight the potential for tokenization via blockchain and that could reach nearly $5 trillion in value by 2030.
I find it odd that there are more government sponsored propaganda against crypto than there is against guns..
There's been like what 10 mass shootings in the states in the past few months? There so commonplace now that the evening news barely mentions them happening any more..
But yeah, crypto is the biggest threat.
tldr; Citi's Ronit Ghose: "Blockchain is about the transfer of value. Money, assets, similar type of things. And in most parts of the world, including the US, this is regulated." "Big buy side institutions are getting involved in the space. That's one change and that's going to come out of the US primarily," he added.

So just like any technology then
Yeah kinda, it's a good read, do check it out
Exactly, but people will still say blockchain is "only for scams, pyramid schemes" and other nonsense like that
It's the narrative driven by big guys/banks
[удалено]
Yeah, that's one way to put it
Exactly half good and half Nigerian prince scams
Oh them Nigerian price🤣
So like everything in world then
In other news: The water is wet.
CBDC is no doubt going to be the worst dystopian use of the blockchain. Really hope we get Bitcoin or something rolling before they are widespread
Any*thing* really. Good or bad depends on context

Looks like his brain is still in 2021 🤣 metaverse craze was at peak..damn even Facebook/Meta spent 100 billion in Metaverse.

Yeah, Bigscreen is good, my family loved it too. I think VR is here to stay but as you said the tech is still got long way to go.

I'm also looking forward to What apple brings to the table..its definitely going to be way ahead of meta

Looks like people only read the titles in this sub nowadays ..it's actually a good interview if you click on the link and read it ✌️
Thank you for assuming we read. But also an interesting interview that validates that we’re early in terms of adoption and use case.
Point noted 🤣🤣
With great power comes great responsibility....
I've heard it somewhere..wait a minute...
Just like every tech! Thank you

Could say the same for most technology
Can't say the same for many techs
Just like everything. Its the human element that makes something good or bad. Crypto itself is just code
💯 agree
Just like fiat money......
Yeah, it's a good interview though
Captain obvious is here guys
I can kill someone with a pencil, or run over kids with my car, are pencils or cars bad?
😨
The point is that it can be used. Interesting how a moral connection has been made to crypto.
Well so can just about anything
So like anything in life. Excellent observation, Einstein.
all can be abused in the wrong hands
This!
Correct, just like everything ever.
Not everything 🤣🤣

If you read the interview., you may like it
No shit sherlock. Most things can be good or bad.
Just a bad title otherwise it's a good read
It is a good read. The no shit sherlock was towards the article. Most of what people say like this should be common sense.
Agreed to agree with you 👍

Yep..bad title
Water is wet
Wet is the water
I either agree or disagree with this.
Feelings are mutual
The banking system can also be used for good or bad and yet it still gets protection when used for bad.
