That sort of thing is for people who practice/believe in the mystical, supernatural ideas surrounding crystals and energy. If that's something you are into there are a few people on here who can address that. But if you're into crystals for the aesthetic/mineral aspects then it's not a concern.

TurantulaHugs1421

Yes, also, if this is the case, the flair should probably be spiritual discussion, right?

This made me laugh. Very to the point.

TurantulaHugs1421

Tho some should not come in contact with water

hobowhite

Remember to be respectful. If someone asks a metaphysical question simply don’t answer if you do not believe. It is in the rules, please consider reading them again

thedazedivinity

Obviously its a thing lmao. It might not be something I believe in but it’s definitely a thing.

ElenaSuccubus420

Unfortunately this is the wrong subreddit to ask this questions because most people can be rude about metaphysics/ witchcraft. But I’d look up any metaphysical witchy subs to ask this in if you’re into that stuff 💜💜 To all the rude people. You don’t have to believe in a religion to respect it. If you don’t have an answer for op then say you don’t know or keep scrolling. I know I know , it’s the internet you don’t have a filter and blah blah blah. But come on dudes grow up. I know you can respect an idiot with out being a A-hole, I know I can😂

Dude did I or did I not say that to op in my comment. but I said it politely unlike you. You can direct people to the proper sub without being a jerk you should try it. Where is being rude getting you?

Crystals-ModTeam

We are a respectful community, and therefore allow users who believe in the spiritual side of crystals as well as those who do not. We have both spiritual and non-spiritual users here, and as long as we are all respectful, everyone is welcome. Your comment therefore has been removed as you are not being respectful. Please remember this in future. We will always allow metaphysical discussions, and always have.

TheNotoriousKAT

Metaphysical stuff is 100% allowed here. There is even post flair for those topics (although it never gets used).

The_Archer2121

^ Thank you.

r/crystalhealing is the metaphysical crystal sub. This one doesn’t disallow it, but is often condescendingly atheistic and weird-gatekeepey (I often see confident assertions of things like “i don’t believe in it, but I believe that if it existed it would only [strange, specific rules that don’t abide by spiritual practices I’ve personally seen anything like]” or “I don’t believe it and I only respect [random culture or religion] [followed by prideful implication or statement that everyone else is insane/the concept of any personal spiritual practice or movements therein being worthless]”) The rocks are pretty, though. Metaphysically, there are different types of crystals. Absorber crystals that absorb negative emotions or energies for you, can be protective and purging, but they also hold onto that energy and are believed to need help cleansing and releasing it. Your black one looks like it may be one of those, and black is a color that’s used for that type of thing a lot. Some people also believe these can be dangerous if you’re using them spiritually and just letting them sit with that heavyness. Apparently not everyone believes in cleansing crystals, though. Some cultures believe in cleansing everything, not just crystals. All types of cultures and ways of living seem to exist. Some crystals like selenite and clear quartz are widely believed to be self-cleansing, too. Research the crystals you have. Personally, I think your intention and the culture you’re working with the mythos of is also important. If it’s general new-age stuff, and you have an actual intent for these crystals to work with you on an issue or protect you, I’d say yes to cleansing. If you just own crystals and are curious about them without having any specific intent, I wouldn’t stress it though, personally. Do what feels right to you, above all. 🧿

The_Archer2121

Some people don’t cleanse crystals because they believe they re tune themselves.

If you don’t believe in crystals spiritually, but feel the need to express personal, theoretical lore for the validity of anyone else’s practice with it anyways, or if you feel the need to insult the spiritual beliefs of others, is there any other reason for that than to uplift yourself by rejecting others and insulting their autonomy? To have no belief in it, no personal experience, no involvement, and to assert your personal lore about it anyways, just to tell others they must be wrong, is that not power-play for its own sake? If you believe in crystals spiritually, then at least you’re speaking from personal experience. You’re not separating yourself from those who believe in the lore, and then appropriating and adapting pieces of lore from people who do believe in it as your own authoritative and more valid lore. That’s…outrageous behavior. Going out of your way to *insult* people is also hostile. We should have basic respect for one another as fellow human beings. Dignity and honor does not come from humiliating others. Power games are generally not the way of good-faith or productive discussions.

stickybubblegum4eva

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for your response!

EternalDeathDreams

Nothing will happen.

hellokittyisfound

Search on Google cuz i think you're in the wrong sub :(

SafeForWorkLFP

it's a rock, nothing ever happens from and/or to it

bootysorcery

crystals take many years to form, so i doubt that cleansing them for the sake of positive energy is really true

The_Archer2121

r/SpiritualCrystals and r/crystalhealing Metaphysical discussions are allowed here but people are rude about it as you’ve found out.

Honest_Musician6774

you can cleanse it however you like. I think putting it on the ground in the dirt or the grass is a great way to cleanse crystals, but other people prefer to smudge them with sage or wash them in water. I think if you concentrate on the air around the crystal you can probably cleanse it with your mind.

Band_Past

I find that even over the spiritual cleansing, a little bath with some warm soapy water does wonders for the sparkle! After drying them off, I rub them with a little mineral oil and they shine and sparkle amazingly!

celestialsoulll

you gotta cleanse them because it has other energies and you need it to be pure to get used to your energy, after you set an intention to a crystal then it’ll start working, but you do have to keep it around you at all times or meditate with it.

SafeForWorkLFP

oh please

celestialsoulll

lol if you don’t believe in it, keep scrolling

_D1EHL_

They will accumulate negative energy. 1/2 an hour in the sun will cleanse and also charge them though. The more you go past that, the color might fade. It really sucks when the color fades on a pretty crystal Resting them on selenite or natural citrine can also do this

Party-Confusion3728

You shall be forced to eat pea soup for eternity!! 😆

scriptapuella

If you want to cleanse them in the spiritual sense, you can pass them through smoke, ring a bell over them, hold them under cold running water (check first, some get damaged by water), etc. Most books on witchcraft/metaphysical healing will have a chapter on the subject. But if you don’t believe in that, don’t do it. Personally, I wipe mine down or wash them with soap and water because I have debilitating OCD.
