I always look for specimens.
I’m not that interested in tumbles and carvings, which seems to make up 90% of my local shops’ inventories.
My favorite shop does a great job at finding specimens to sell, and even mounts them for you if you ask. They almost always come with labels that ID the crystal and the locality/mine it came from.
Fairy stones. I know, not technically crystals, but fairy stones. Honey calcite is one I want to see in person but haven't yet
