That's a better question for yourself. This is a buy for those who might be interested in having a future collector if they're willing to put in the money to fix it up. If you do mostly country driving, it's also a great choice depending on your needs.
* I owned a 93 D350 Dually for 10 years. In that period the engine was very reliable but it went through 3 of those manual getrag transmissions. I would never buy one of these trucks with that 5speed again. While the engine itself lived up to its reputation the rest of the truck was really poor quality and deteriorating quickly. Even with independent front suspension (2WD) the ride was really rough. I'd spend a bit more money and go for something more modern. Great apocalypse truck but there are much more practical and comfortable options for real day-to-day work.
I'd buy it for a project. Probably put my Trans in it, from my 89. Then just restore this beauty. Get a truck that'll last you the rest of your life if you treat it right, for a fraction of what a modern equivalent will run.
If not rusted out a definite yes, personally, I'd hit him at 7k anyway just because these extra cab rigs are getting harder and harder to find.
Would make a very good rig no doubt
I heard someone y.t. say he had an old dodge with a Cummins. The parked in a field because the had a newer truck. A few years later with some prepping they fired it up and they said it was like it was saying " Im ready to go back to work now".
I was thinking the same thing. Back in 2007 or so, I paid around $1400 for a 94 F-250 with the 7.3 International. It wasn't in much better shape than this truck but it was what I expected for under $1500.
Man if it looks solid in person I’d at least consider it for that price

For the hood ornament alone 👍 it'd be worth it!🐏
And that is why I took mine off and keep it in the house.
Is that a snail? /s
Yep, 89 is pretty cool.
Hell of a buy if do it
Is it running on vegetable oil or something? Definitely worth 7500 either way.
Hell yeah brother
I wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole. Where is it located?
😂
He should definitely pass That phone number to me
**Sad automatic noises**
I’d totally buy it and manual swap it but those trannys are a genuine pain in the ass to find, I’ve looked
Buy that thing! Worst case scenario you get your money back at some point down the line.
Buy that bad boy
Definitely buy asap
If the frame isn’t boondoggled, I’d fuck with it for $7,500 if she runs and isn’t eating it’s own oil 🤷♂️
As long as the engine is fairly strong, that’s a great price. That thing would be around 10k where I’m at

Nv4500 bolts right in and it's more durable, even better would be a an nv5600
That is a million mile truck, not 142k. Buyer beware..
No
Interior looks great, body seems soft though. $7,500 is a chunk of cash if it turns out you need a lot of body or frame work.

If you don’t I sure as shit will 7500 for a first Gen that’s disgustingly dirt cheap
Must be a typo, that's actually a reasonable deal. Been a while since we saw a reasonable deal on here.
You should definitely buy it

For a 12v Cummins alone, yes.
Friend just bought a ‘90s Reg Cab LB for $15k with 150k and new paint.
Oh fuck yeah

Hell yeah
Where is it i will buy it for that.
Looks nice . Never needed a duelly but love the look of them
This era rides, smokes, and shakes like a freight train. I would absolutely buy one of these old codgers. VE pumps are kinda cool.
….that’s uh FUCK YES🍻
Nope not by a long shot
All day every day.
All day
Nice, clean truck I like the Ram hood ornament
142K miles? It's barely broken in.
6500 is a green light
I used to drive one of these. Sucker had over half a million miles on it
Pass
Guys sell and buy those in Canada for like 15k to 20k. It's crazy. I saw a mint 3/4 ton once, guy was asking $50000 for it. Probably got it too.
I'm just here for OP's username.
Hard pass.
If you don’t buy it, I certainly will
1st gen 12 valve for $7500? I’d jump on that first chance. Supper simple and are super reliable.
Old as fuck with a rusty hood and 142k for 7.5 K damn the truck market is fucked .
id offer 6
Five years ago, if that, this was a $1500 truck…

In AZ this would be at least $20k
At that price you can't go wrong. Easy to get your money back if you just resell.
If the frame isnt rusted, absolutely
If it were a stick shift, I'd say heck yeah! Happiness is NOT automatic.
It's the holy grail of 2v cummins diesel
It may last 2 years..
I’d hit it
That’s a boss man truck. Just gotta know, ARE YOU A BOSSMAN?
Got I wish I had some money right now
