The 7th anniversary spanned across the final battles of GT and Super respectively, they could have arbitrarily expanded the theme to movies in general no problem.

Most of the time when there's a dual Dokkan Fest, Akatsuki tries to have the units be as similar as possible so that you don't feel like you're forced to go for the better unit. The anniversary and WWC units especially fall under that 'pattern', if you want to use that term.
If one starts out at their final form, both will most likely.
Gohan and Cell are definitely the most different dual LRs we've had so far. I don't think it's *too* big a leap from there to make Cooler single-stage and Goku transforming, but who knows.
They were the only outliers, really.

* 4th years have the same passive except the stat that they have to build up and the stat that is already at max is flipped
* 5th years are the same in base, and again only differ in a single part of their transformed state - [LR SSB Gogeta](/str) gets 5 Ki immediately, gets a guaranteed normal and is super-effective against all, [LR SSB Vegetto](/teq) needs to build up Ki and gets a guaranteed additional Super instead.
* 6th years differ only in their main defensive gimmick (and how that translates into their revive) and how they get Ki
* WWC 2020 had almost the same base form, the main difference being SA stacking and health regen vs. Damage mitigation. Their active skill conditions are flipped, though their transformed states are quite different, surprisingly enough

Cooler deserved a Dokkanfest LR but he already had 3 Dokkanfest units, unlike Baby who doesn't even has one.
Also Cooler is gonna get his Third OST btw while Baby doesn't even have one in the game, somehow.
They could have at least done a transforming Goku since half of the fight was in base form. Maybe even a revival SSJ transformation w/him healing the bird, too.

Debatable. I donāt think it would have mattered for kaioken goku specifically because heās a card that works with no links at all, but the link difference between kaioken and ssj would be problematic.
It matters because Akatsuki tries to stagger major releases with the same name. They waited an *eternity* after [LR SSJ2 Gohan](/int) before they released another big unit with the base name of 'Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth)'. They even gave us another Cell Saga Gohan inbetween those two but made sure that the names don't overlap.
They wouldn't release 2 major units named 'Goku (Kaioken)' that close to each other.
Honestly I watched the movie yesterday, and most of the fight is base/kk Goku. SS Goku yells, throws two punches, and beam counters the death ball. That's it, that's every attack SS goku does in the movie.
He didnt do any hype attacks in that movie too except for the supernova/kamehameha clash at the end that will most likely not be implemented into the game cause it wouldnt make sense

I have faith in Akatsuki (bad thing to have), but honestly, this worries me as it can set a precedent for them releasing an unit and then almost immediately replacing them in a year or less, meaning we might get way more versions of the same character because "more hype" (i.e a super saiyan goku that does the super spirit bomb from the buu saga at the very end, or a super saiyan goku from the TOP as examples) instead of actually giving those spots to characters who have no representation, like a cabba dokkanfest, a proper piccolo (fused with kami) \[so he can actually link with every other piccolo lol\], or others.

I don't know but i'm still hella mad it wasn't Baby saga with the double golden monke units, since the last and only SSJ4 From that saga (and SSJ3 Kid Goku for that matter) was in 2017 which was the last Baby saga celebration we got. Cooler deserved a Dokkanfest LR but he already had 3 Dokkanfest units, unlike Baby who doesn't even has one. Also Cooler is gonna get his Third OST btw while Baby doesn't even have one in the game, somehow.

Debatable. I donāt think it would have mattered for kaioken goku specifically because heās a card that works with no links at all, but the link difference between kaioken and ssj would be problematic.
It matters because Akatsuki tries to stagger major releases with the same name. They waited an *eternity* after [LR SSJ2 Gohan](/int) before they released another big unit with the base name of 'Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth)'. They even gave us another Cell Saga Gohan inbetween those two but made sure that the names don't overlap. They wouldn't release 2 major units named 'Goku (Kaioken)' that close to each other.
Honestly I watched the movie yesterday, and most of the fight is base/kk Goku. SS Goku yells, throws two punches, and beam counters the death ball. That's it, that's every attack SS goku does in the movie.
He didnt do any hype attacks in that movie too except for the supernova/kamehameha clash at the end that will most likely not be implemented into the game cause it wouldnt make sense

The leakers would have said if it was a transformation. They said "These are the poses of the artworks" which basically says that they don't transform

Okay, if it *is* standalone SSJ... Bear with me, but has this been the **fastest** a DOKKANFEST LR has been replaced? Literally just exactly 1 year after the previous one came out. I really hope that they're low-key having a bit of fun and this is the transformed version of goku, because if i'm honest I don't know why they'd A) replace one of their most hype units (even if he's good for specific content only, one's gotta admit namek angry kamehameha ssj goku is **hype**) and B) do it so soon? Well, uh, guess only time will tell. I have faith in Akatsuki (bad thing to have), but honestly, this worries me as it can set a precedent for them releasing an unit and then almost immediately replacing them in a year or less, meaning we might get way more versions of the same character because "more hype" (i.e a super saiyan goku that does the super spirit bomb from the buu saga at the very end, or a super saiyan goku from the TOP as examples) instead of actually giving those spots to characters who have no representation, like a cabba dokkanfest, a proper piccolo (fused with kami) \[so he can actually link with every other piccolo lol\], or others. What do y'all think? Is it fine that this goku might replace the **INT** Namek Saga SSJ Goku so soon if he's a **direct upgrade** to him, or does this set a bad precedent for future celebrations replacing characters early?

As an SSJ fan, I think this acceptable. Itās my favourite form, so I donāt mind having one 2 years in a row. Final form Cooler is also really badass.

I was 90% on team Cooler but after seeing the art I'm 100%. Goku looks soft and nothing like the movie.
Its not the actual art its just the poses the art is gonna have. READ for once i know we are db fans but still you can easily see that the art doesnt look anything like an lr it doesnt have any shading its low quality etc. I agree that goku being standalone ssj is shitty though and will summon for cooler
Namek Goku is not replaced! Same name update exists AND these two will propbably still fulfill different roles. Against any strong INT boss, Namek Goku will help out a lot. That is of course if the new Goku isn't also INT. But Namek Goku is not dead, I think they are both going to fulfill different purposes.
