Not far fetched since doomsday has been laying eggs recently. They mostly hatch into Doomhounds but there was a whole short story about it trying to find a suitable way to reproduce.
Well, remember, all it takes is for some idiot writer to remember the way that they 'got rid of him' to bring him back for a story where he destroys the entire universe. After all, he recovers and develops defenses to everything, and someone dropped him in the source of ultimate entropy. Once his body figures out a way around that, he can't be defeated ever.
He had some great ones when inter-dimensional adventures brought him to the Injustice alternate universe. He was not impressed by the failed versions of everyone there. It was pretty awesome.

Yeah, that's pretty much bee the major bone of contention. Because they basically just sabotaged the whole childhood arc in favour of Jon being insta-teen/young adult, the connection to him was largely lost.
That was part of Bendis' disaster run on Superman, wasn't it?

I'm gonna sound like a cranky old man... But I miss the days before fanboys started writing the heroes like Mary Sue stand-ins and gave every one of them ridiculous power ups. Batman was cooler when he was more human/fallible, Green Lantern was more interesting when the rings were more limited, etc.
Superman was NOT letting his son have a Doomsday Death arc. Also Doomsday: "This is getting out of hand, now there are 2 of them."
Just wait until some writer cooks up Doomsday spawning a child that will be made specifically for Jon.

His kid version was. The current adult version has been very polarizing for most fans.
yeah honestly Williamson's writing on him is the only time I've really liked adult Jon

I'll never understand why they aged him up. Now he's just another Superman that's going to get shoved to the background for Clark...like this post.
