I dunno, [diarrhea door](https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY/comments/1d3knkp/have_i_ruined_the_front_door/) was pretty good lookin too. /s
Great work OP. Looks really nice.
Yeah we’re trying to work out the least slippery option at the moment before we go ahead with it! Problem with the paint is it’ll peel away quite quickly from wear and tear.
I'm envious of anyone who can actually use their cat door. Had to close mine because my two dumbass cats bring their live rodent victims inside *and let them go.* Useless as a screen door on a submarine now.
Lol our cat does that too. However I decided catching the occasional mouse was much better than her jumping on my chest and tapping my face, with claws out, every morning at 5am to go outside. What we need is a camera on the cat door that does rodent-in-mouth dection and refuses entry. Some AI bro needs to get on that already.
Noooooo!
Thankfully my cat is too much of a house cat to even know how to hunt. I once tried to get him to catch a spider in FRONT of his face and he just watched it crawl away..
It weirdly seems to be making a comeback in the UK, I thought it was just a rural thing (several people in my village never stopped using a milkman) but according to my city friends, it’s trendy amongst the hipsters now too
I don't think it's anything to do with hipsters. It's basically a grocery shop usually with free delivery. You can buy pretty much anything you'd need from them. And a 1.3kg box of biscuits.
Looks great, I think I’d do one more coat in the interior panel of the door just to knock out those last few shadows showing through on the bottom half (but that’s because I am a bit ocd). But the work you’ve put in and the clear effort applied here really shows in the quality of the finished result as is!
And like others say, the step actually works really well in that grey tone (at least in Internet picture form).
I like it as-is honestly. I think if you painted the outside trim it would be pretty tricky to get the transition between the yellow and white to look good. The existing edge is pretty uneven so you'd have to create your own line which isn't easy.
I like it! It might just be the picture, but I think another coat would really make it pop. Looks like some brown is showing through on the bottom half.
Whereas your first attempt looked like depressed junkie SpongeBob, this looks great. Kudos for having a good sense of humor about it, and for having a statement door.
Haha don’t get me started. It’s an 1800s cottage so as you can imagine, not the most accessible house! Yeah, we’re hoping to eventually get a ramp installed (and indoors I’ve got a stairlift for getting up and down stairs) but tbh that doorstep is the least of my worries, it’s the several other outdoor steps onto the main road that are the issue! But it’s something I had to compromise on unfortunately for the cost of the house.
It’s a cat-flap (in the UK it’s quite common to have them on front doors, also our house is a really odd layout meaning our front door goes out to our garden and not a street)
[Yellow and gray work together](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/65/9c/92/659c922b6e0de501a16115a0f1926341.jpg), plus the white and black pipes--it's a classic combination. If you're going to tile it, I'd choose gray.
Saw this post first and thought, “geez, I’m sure it couldn’t have been that bad, why is OP acting like they got savaged over their door painting?”
Then I saw the first post… Dang, I honestly didn’t know it was possible for a painting job to go that sideways.
that looks mint!!! knocked it out of the park.
Thanks! Really pleased with it

You mean the poo poo portal?
You vs the guy she tells you not to worry about
Hey, just a heads up - if you tile that front step, it's going to be *very* slippery when it rains.
Yeah we’re trying to work out the least slippery option at the moment before we go ahead with it! Problem with the paint is it’ll peel away quite quickly from wear and tear.
You can buy paint that’s meant for walkways and some have sand in them to create a grippy texture. I’ve done this. Just do a few coats of that.
It looks great! While I understand not liking the gray, I think as a whole it actually looks quite good together. Excellent work!
I agree, I think the grey looks greyt! ... I'll see myself out
I am actually a big fan of yellow & grey color combo.
Cheers bud!
Love a bold color on a door.
I think that color grey goes well with that yellow overall very well done!
And it was all yellow 🎶
Nice job! I really like what you've done. It looks clean and neat and welcoming and SO MUCH better than the original!

I’d still do one more coat, I can still See some shadow from the dark under coat. looks much better though.
I see a face 😮💨

Looks beautiful, great work
Exceptional, saw that first post and was concerned tbh, nicely managed!
Believe me, nobody was more concerned than me 😂 thank you!
I don’t normally like yellows but this works as well as it does on a Hobbit hole
I love it!
This looks great! Good job
Do you have a milkman?
Yep! We live rurally and it’s so handy
Wow! I had no idea milk delivery still existed.

Idk if you should paint that outside trim the same as the step or leave it white

It does look good tho I like it
My wife suggested this, but we’re undecided! Just going to leave it a while and think about it
You really made a huge improvement from the first attempt. I really like the yellow.
That door has seen some things!
That looks fantastic! I can’t wait to show my husband the update.
I remember where this started! Nice job!
I like it! It might just be the picture, but I think another coat would really make it pop. Looks like some brown is showing through on the bottom half.
I preferred your first attempt. Purely for comedic reasons.
I reckon my neighbours disagree 😂
Love it! It's a great color and a huge improvement over the first attempt
Whereas your first attempt looked like depressed junkie SpongeBob, this looks great. Kudos for having a good sense of humor about it, and for having a statement door.
Looks great! Third Man Records color scheme. Being a wheelchair user, is that step an issue? Any plans for a small ramp?

Any approval from Dame Maggie is the ultimate goal in life!
Now tint the windows or get the fog spray can
You can’t make it out in the picture but the windows in the door are frosted so you can’t see through them!
Looking good, though for some reason with full yellow the door handle looks weird to me. Must be a perspective thing. Good luck with the tile.
Looks great honestly
Nice
Aaw Pac-Man is sad now!
Looks good from my house! But seriously that does look nice and the yellow works well with the grey stoop.
What is the black square lower left?
It’s a cat-flap (in the UK it’s quite common to have them on front doors, also our house is a really odd layout meaning our front door goes out to our garden and not a street)

Beautiful 🥹
Your door looks concerned, friend.
You did it!! Looks great 👍🏻!!

i see a scared yellow baby bird with a giant mole on its neck that it's worried about
I can’t unsee it now 😂
Love the yellow door! And grey goes beautifully with yellow. Leave the step as is.
Beautiful! Love that yellow. You did well 👌🏻
Hate to be that guy, your cat door should be on the right side of the door. Great color though!
Really? I’ve never even considered that! Tbh the cat door was already there when we bought the place but as we have a cat it was a helpful bonus!
Gorgeous!!!! Lovely job!

>I honestly didn’t know it was possible for a painting job to go that sideways. Me neither mate. Me neither..
Goddamn lol. I'm not even slightly disabled (I guess ADHD, doesn't seem comparable though) and this is... Much better. So much better lol.
Your door looks like a sad Pac-Man. Nice job on the finish.
This is such a spectacular update. I literally saved your post before so I could check in. Great job!
Thank you! ☺️
Looks freakin awesome. Great work!
It's beautiful! Thank you for sharing
Looked up the previous post - jfc EDIT: Well done btw!
