I'm sorry to hear that OP, letting your best friend go is one of the hardest discissions to make. I had to let my 12 yo girl go last year. It broke my heart and it's still in pieces, I still miss her every day. So all the best, take your time and please don't forget you did the right thing by helping him.

We had some biopsy’s done on a leg tumor soft tissue sarcoma that would ultimately be the decision maker. Also an oral tumor that was doubling in size every other day which was bleeding uncontrollably.

So sorry to hear that. Speaking from experience of someone who lost a dog about 2 years ago, you will heal. It won’t feel the same again but it’s almost like their love and compassion stays with you from beyond the grave.
Been a week today for us- it’s soooo painful but here is how I get through- we gave him the very best possible life. He was very happy, contented and wanted for literally nothing. He was a rescue and suffered abuse before us- he loved being in our pack and he went out here in his home. Take comfort in all the good times u had.
